R.Absolutely beautiful meal I had the small Blue Cod meal and it was almost more than I could handle.
We had the most atenttive waitress and she was so helpful.
S.We eat here all the time as we enjoy things about it.
The only negative is toward the tomato and basil fettuccine. Would not recommend that.
Highly recommend the Sharing Platter and a garlic and cheese pita bread.
p.We popped in here for a Friday dinner and the place was packed. We were quickly shown to our table and our orders taken. The steak sandwich and lamb shank was just awesome. The food came promptly and the service was really good. Would recommend this place.
A.What an amazing meal we just had here, fantastic food and great service
M.Pretty good food for a small town pub in NZ. They have a variety of gluten free options and the lemon cake was very moist. They have a terrace out the back but unfortunately it just overlooks the road. The staff were friendly and helpful but did look a little rushed off there feet when we came to leave. I would go back if I was in the area but wouldn't make a special trip.
D.The cafe is tidy, menu reads well. I couldn’t order oysters as there were none in stock but despite this they wouldn’t remove them from the menus. Other patrons ordered the same Oysters to which the waitress had to come back and let her patrons know there was no Oysters. If they cross the items off the menu which they do not have available, then this would save the constant embarrassment for the waitress.
K.The service was great, there was a bit if a delay on meals due to the town/restaurant being busy with Field Days but the staff were all great and efficient. The food was just ok.. the steak was slightly undercooked and the pepper sauce had no flavour and the pork was very dry

R.Monday night in Gore and you would expect places to be quiet - not so at the Howl at the Moon! Very busy place but excellent service. Didn’t have to wait long for a seat and service. The food was pretty good and I am happy I ordered the half size blue cod as it was more than enough. Very generous serving of very tasty dishes. Not a huge selection but nicely done. The service was very good and although very busy the staff still made sure I was well looked after.

T.We were recommended this place as not many places were open in gore, quickly greeted and seated and orders taken. Was really disappointed in the really long wait for our dishes, portions were large which was good. If your looking for a big feed you won’t be disappointed and although the food was slow to come out the staff were friendly. Won’t be going out of my way to come back though unfortunately.
A.It's a great country restaurant, we decided to drop in without a booking as we where going though Gore, the place was very busy as it was only a couple of weekends before xmas, they were very clear about wait times as they had big parties in for functions, we got a drink and by the time that was sorted our table was ready.
We sat down with our drinks and got a couple of magazines to read, we got some cheesy garlic flat bread to stave off the hunger, as the wait staff said they could get that through the big functions, atmosphere was pleasant and lively even with the place at capacity.
The wait staff came and asked us if we'd like to order sooner than expected as one of they functions had delayed their order and they could get ours in now. The meal came out rather quickly, sooner then expected, the meals where great, salads excellent, steaks cooked right, portions good size, my partners half portion looked full size.
The staff where great, helpful and attentive but not imposing, and the meal for 4 people came in under $100 so was good value as well. We look forward to going back again next time we are through.
TLDR; Great Staff, Food and atmosphere.

O.Ordered the chilli chicken nacho and they were AMAZING!!! Every ingredient was perfection and the portion size was generous. Would definitely like to come back for another serving. My friends both had the ribeye steak. The ribeyes were bigger than usual and my friends both said the steak was very good.

L.Each time I have gone to Howl at the moon I have found that the staff are well trained and very polite. There is ample meal variety to suit most food tastes. My fav is the chicken apricot pizza. Yummy as. You can choose to dine inside or have your meal in a well designed exterior courtyard. A trio atmosphere setup allows gives the option of just lounging as you sit back in comfy chairs and enjoy a drink and a chat.
J.Lovely meal , but service a bit slow. Never came back to ask us if we wanted desserts. There were 7 of us .
h.Good priced simple pub meals. Lots of flavour and big portions. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Only let down was the very average fries.

L.We stoped here for coffee. It’s nice place for food, coffee and beers. Reasonable price and kind staffs as well. Especially toilets are clean and nice 😂😂 I haven’t seen clean toilet as here in NZ.
