Interesting, well executed, modern Vietnamese in a great setting. We had a drip condensed milk coffee, banh taco, banh khot, and pho with rare beef. The flavors were fresh and different from your standard Vietnamese. The pho had a delicate flavor profile.The textural contrast in the slightly toasted soft taco, and the crispy base of the banh khot blinis was lovely. The sweet house made nuoc cham sauce was a highlight. I didn't leave any pho soup or nuoc cham behind!

Excellent setting, modern and very professional waiters. Ask how you would like food and drinks spaced etc. Quality food. Quality drink selection. Should be 10 stars. The spicy fried chicken is a must for spice lovers!

Yummy food. Enjoyed the (ginger chicken) salad bowl. Light and fresh. Generous serving size. Only down side was the heat in the restaurant. No air con and it was 33 degrees outside!

Loved the takeaway menu options. Specially the boxes. It's so convenient to pick up and eat where you like. Amazing variety. My go to place for all Vietnamese cravings. The banh Mi is my absolute favourite.

A good place for Vietnamese cuisine. The flavours didn't feel extremely authentic, but it was definitely highly inspired by traditional Vietnamese cuisine (perhaps tuned for local taste). Would have preferred a richer broth with the rare beef Pho, but all the ingredients were fresh.

Our server Shannon was an absolute delight, giving great suggestions and helping us choose plates to share so we could get the best possible options. Food was brought out super fast and was delicious. The restaurant was busy but you didn’t feel cramped and it wasn’t too noisy. Beautiful decor completed the experience .

Came here for dinner on Saturday night. Quiet at 6pm but almost full when we left at 7pm. Had Vietnamese paper rolls with prawns and pork, deep fried chicken and also the pork belly with slaw. All very nice, and very fresh and tasty and good ingredients. Nice atmosphere inside and out, Vietnamese street food so not a massive menu, but good pre-theatre it drinks.

We had a delicious dinner here tonight - the vietnamese fried chicken burgers were incredible. Staff were lovely and so accommodating as usual, thank you for the great experience!

Bahn mi is my absolute favourite place to eat in Hamilton. I love Vietnamese cuisine 😍 Bahn mi’s food is always so fresh, delicious and served with perfection. If you haven’t already been you need to treat yourself there, and make sure you get a cocktail from Roberto! 🍹🍸👌🏼

Food; we ordered the vegan pancakes and the vegan spring rolls as well as the pork spring rolls and the mussles with the coconut sauce and the Vietnamese soup and Vietnamese spring rolls and pork belly. All of the food served were hot fast delicious, fresh and tasty. I cannot fault the food it was excellent. Friendliness; friendly wait staff. Service; good waitrestress on the night I dined. Attention to menu and always recommending beer recommending dessert recommending specials for the day. Value for money; for 100 to 110 we ordered 7 meals to share between 4 people. All of us enjoyed the food and walked away feeling sustained rather than a heavy bloating sort of feeling that you can get from eating heavy foods. X-factor; standout was the pork belly and the muscles and the spring rolls and the soft shell crab rolls. In all fairness everything we sampled were excellent so I must admit all dishes were X Factor Style. Food was fantastic quality and had large portion of protein for really low prices (all mains were under $24). Very friendly service although we did find it very difficult to understand our waiter and drinks took 30 minutes to get to the table. Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu

Fantastic Vietnamese spot in the heart of Hamilton. What’s better than a bowl of beef phō, and a drip coffee. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful too.

ordered the Pho and the noodle dish, the noodle dish meat was over marinated and then grilled into the meat which made it a little sweet to eat and not too tasty. The pho, had to ask for siracha and hoisin sauce to build up the flavour, thought it was okay but defintely had better pho and bun elsewhere. Seems to be a favorite so maybe it was an off day. Interior was nice and looked like a nice place to have a drink

Nice vietnamese restaurant. The food is quick and yummy. Drinks have many options. The portion of each dish fits for about 3 people. The interior decoration is chick and charming. The music? -- brilliant! Feel the energy and enthusiasm. The lighting decoration in front of the place is cool!

I would say it's an expensive place. I'm sorry I didn't find much stuff for vegan/ vegetarians. The dessert was a delight I must say. The cost is wee bit too much I'd say as the quantity was not that much but the food quality is good and the service was fine too. It's located in a nice location so that's a plus point too plus a good place to have some quality time with your dear ones as it's a nice cozy place.

Came in on Saturday night as a group of 5, were seated outside, with some heaters. Amazing place to seat with Hamilton central right there and crowds walking by, nice place to enjoy dinner All food was exceptional, Vietnamese style dining, with all staples present, banh mi, pho, summer rolls etc I would compare it to Rice Rice Baby at the mount, with less of a street style look I wished that the sriracha sauce was the original sriracha rather than an off brand, but it's just details Would definitely come back again when in Hamilton

Not a huge menu, but what they do have they do exceptionally well, meal was absolutely delicious and very well priced! Also appreciate the nice selection of non alcoholic options that arent the standard soft drinks.

Holy Pho! That was THE best Vietnamese pho chicken soup to cross my lips ever!! Husband and son also loved my soup and their Banh mi beef sandwich & chicken bites to die for. Apparently husband has wanted to come here for the past year and fortunately it far exceeded his expectation!! Phenomenal, graceful service as well. We will definitely be back, and will remember to BOOK A TABLE!!!

Pretty authentic taste for noodle soup but too sweet and banmi bread was nice but no pate for base. Interesting to go. Interior is morden and stylish.

He pai ngā roto i tēnei wāhi (the interiors of this place are great). Small menu but good quality kai. Be wary that asking for rice or chilli oil will have a small cost even if the wait staff ask if you want it (sriracha is free). Despite it being quite pricey, you pay for the classy experience and it's central location. It almost feels as if I get teleported to another city 😅

Came in for lunch with work friends and we were so glad we came! The staff were lovely and just the right amount of attentive. The wait for food during peak lunchtime was very quick! The food itself was great! Fresh and hot, great flavour, the banh mi was stuffed full of tasty ingredients and plenty of meat and sauce! Very happy with our choice today will definitely be returning.

Tofu and mushrooms cabbage and mint salad was really good. Salmon was extremely salty. Overall though good food at a reasonable price - quick service too.

Food was really nice and good value for money. Staff were nice enough but the waitresses kept coming over to take our plates away while we were still eating, almost as if to hurry us up. The music speakers were pointing directly down at the tables which isn't great, means the music is too loud and right above your head. I think this place would be great for lunch.

Food is so so delicious! And the service is excellent! Our waitress was lovely! She was able to recommend different food to us and even explained which condiment sauces go with what without prompting. Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return for more tasty food!

We are staying in Hamilton overnight and just finished an Escape Room. We were assuming to settle for something cheap and takeaway but saw that this place was just around the corner. Delightfully surprised and although we only got 1 thing each as we were hugely starving it really rounded off our nice day. I got the noodle salad with pork. The pork was like pork sausage pieces but I'm not complaining, it was delicious. Mum had rice paper rolls with crab and we both sat in delight, picking away with our chopsticks.

We do not have many restaurants in Hamilton that have character. But Banh MI Caphe was a pleasant surprise. Straight from the get go, it is a happy trip to the restaurant. The crowd and background chaos makes it a very fun experience. If you are into dead silent places , DO NOT GO THERE. The food is good , nothing unique. Try the cocktails, and the pork sprig rolls. The place can set you back $80 for a meal for 2 (3 food items+ 2 alcoholic drinks) the bar area gives it a euro feel, the staff gives it a south american touch, the food is asian and it is NZ. For desserts: go to duck island (which behind the restaurant and next to browsers). The disappointment was the fry chicken: a little dry... The serving sizes are small and the wait staff are a little new to the game.. but non of these things were mega deal breakers

Work function. Approx 30 people. Several side plates of med/lge finger food. Tasty and filling. Not eaten Vietnamese before. No strong tasting food. Superb fast service. Good range all drinks.

Food was great and the setting/location is really good. Wasn't too heavy. Server was polite and came around to check on things. Trick is to find a carpark nearby if driving into Hamilton CBD. Just to note there was a hair on one of our 4 meals. The replacement came very quick (maybe 2 minutes) which made me speculate it was just the same one that they pulled the hair off. I could be fully wrong. Definitely worth going just the hair let this visit down

Amazing food, great atmosphere and really great staff. The rice rolls were fresh and tasty and the spring rolls were crispy, flavorsome and generous. Both the mussels and the Beef Pho were a little sweeter than we were used to but this didn't detract from the meal. This was my second time here and it was just as good as the first. A must visit!

Nice casual dining that is popular among locals. If possible, make a reservation or come a bit earlier than the crowd. Great food with fresh ingredients. Staff members are mostly friendly and smiling. Prices are a bit steep; we've been coming here for six years and witnessed a huge increase in prices, as well as quality of food and experience. I highly recommend this restaurant as we keep coming back once every 4-6 weeks.

Best word to describe it is flavour. Such good food. Love the beef banh Mi roll. When I first heard it described I thought it sounded pretty boring, but honestly the flavour is incredible.

This place is great - one of my favourites in Hamilton. The food is yum and fast and great for sharing. The atmosphere is comfortable and polished. The service is great. Best with a group, so you can try a few things together. Definitely book ahead.

Great service, great food, good value. We called in here for lunch, as soon as we entered the door we received great service. The food was nice, and was ample quantity. We had the fried chicken and chicken salad. My wife had a mojito which she said was great, and I had a Vietnamese beer. Will definitely be back, as I would like to see what they have on the dinner menu.

Two of us walked in for dinner without reservation. We been seated by the door with a small coffee table. The five dishes we ordered can't even all fit. Felt a bit embarrassed with people walked in and out looking at us struggled with space for putting down cutlery. While there are bigger tables inside without signs of reservation and no one used them for the entire time while we having dinner. The stars are solely for the food. We could ordered more and stay longer if we were seated properly.

Food was beautiful but service lacked. Waitress was quite distressed we weren't ordering fast enough. We had to request water, and other drinks throughout the evening instead of being asked. Food was put on our table, but we had no cutlery or plates so we sat their staring at it, before we could get our waitresses attention. Mains came out with starters, they turned outdoor heaters off about 8pm and pushed others inside. The bill was then put on our table like 'hurry up and leave'. Unfortunate as the food was great!

Checked out the new Banh mi Caphe site for dinner last night and was absolutely delighted. Have tried one of their dishes before at Gourmet in the Gardens from their foodtruck (which was fab!), but the restaurant is a whole different deal. The staff are friendly and attendant, the ambience is lively and upbeat without being stiflingly noisy, and while there are a whole range of dishes and prices on the menu, it's not prohibitively priced from end to end, making it a great option for just grabbing a bite to eat or making a nice occasion out of a visit here. I loved that approx 75% of all the menu items for dinner had vegetarian options, as well as some vegan in the mix, and by god they don't skimp on flavour here! My dishes were delicious to the last bite. Will absolutely be back.

I use to like Banh Mi when they were on Victoria Street but their service and quality have deteriorated since. Poor value for money. We were 5 of us and ordered all the shared dishes + more for dinner but we're still hungry... The green papaya salad was soggy and too little for $18- a rip off. The soft shell crab served over a tiny weeny cabbage salad was OK. .The chicken curry had two big pieces of chicken and looked unappealing and tasted so-so.. The desserts though were good with just the right sweetness.. Nothing really stood out...mediocre quality and value. You would think with limited choice in the menu, food would be really special but meh... I wonder what all the hype is about. Did I miss something? Eat something at home before otherwise you'll end up hangry like us... Better Vietnamese in other places and value for money too.

Having been to Vietnam I enjoy coming to Banh Mi to re-live the amazing flavours of that lovely country. Service is good and the food is tasty! Pretty authentic I would say from my limited experience. Love their new location too.

Was out there with my wife and we absolutely loved the food. The braised pork belly with quail eggs was superb and their flan was divine.

$10 for a Banh Mi filled with fresh veg and some amazing meats? Perfect lunch option. Premises are always clean and the staff are excellent and accommodating if you're looking to change a dish to suit dietary requirements.

We've been there twice during our stay in Hamilton and I think this is the best vietnamese restaurant in town. The staff is really nice, the decoration is neat, and of course the food is delicious. The eponymous banh mi (vietnamese sandwiches) are very tasty, and the other dishes are full of savors and anthenticity. Careful when you order the "sharing plates", it's actually a regular portion. They just encourage you to share ;)

Very professional and welcoming. I enjoyed how the staff interacted with us immediately upon arrival and the speedy service you offer customers. Lovely view with a calming and relaxed enviroment. If you could add an Iced Mocha on the menu that would be great! 😁

Heard good things about this place so was finally nice to check it out. Friendly staff, great smiles! Delicious food served SO quickly. Cool decor! Am a music and food lover, but the music was a little loud and distracting, felt like I was in a club. Was wanting to enjoy eating and talking to others, so had to move to a quieter spot. Countless hanging teardrop-style speakers hanging over groups of tables is impressive..but the loud “doof doof” music didn’t quite match the feel of the place. Will return, but hoping they put more thought into choice of music for different times of the day.

Nice presentation, both in the restaurant design itself and the food. The taste however, leaves much to be desired. Flavours somewhat bland, and sauces etc in general were not the greatest. Was alright to try once, but won't return.

Impeccable, fresh, delicious food - cooked to perfection every time. Impeccable decor, stunning resturant, great music at the perfect volume. The ambience is incredible - even the restrooms are gorgeous. Impeccable staff. Professional to the highest standard. Great sense of humour and very attentive - not a single notepad in sight! If you want a first class dining experience Banh Mi Caphe is the place to go. Absolutely fabulous, entirely faultless. Thank you to the owner, all of the staff and anyone else behind the scenes. This resturant is a credit to you all. I will see you again soon, and thank you all again. This visit (Jan 2021) was for my Dad's birthday - after I brought him here the first time he decided he wanted Banh Mi Caphe for his birthday dinner. He lives 2hrs away in Pauanui (Coromandel). Not only are you spoiling us with the best food and service, but you are giving us an excuse to get together as a family. It means a lot!

The food is always amazing at this place. The lemongrass beef rice paper rolls are delicious! The service was also just as good. Great staff and always helpful. I would highly recommend Banh Mi Caphe to anyone who wants delicious Vietnamese food.

Good service although they forgot a few things, but were rectified when asked. Food is quite nice, a little toward the Euro taste, could benefit from more spice, flavours however are spot on, love the intense coriander/lemongrass flavours in then appropriate dishes.

We dined here before going to a concert at Claudelands Arena. Food and service very good. We had a slight hic cup when we went to pay. Three extra beers added that were not ours. Also husband ordered an Appleton's Rum and was served a cheaper brand without being advised. However we were charged the correct price for the Rum. * remember to always check your bill, wherever you are.

The quality of the food can be inconsistent, sometimes very good, sometimes the ingredients (esp meat) is not fresh enough. Also noticed that they sometimes ask their customers to leave as soon as they finish eating. I know it’s probably busy but when the tables around you get such treatment it’s awkward and honestly you also tend to hurry up eating and wonder when they’ll ask you to leave next 😅

What a treat to visit a restaurant like this! They truly have captured the flavors and atmosphere of Vietnam. Fresh herbs and spices adorn a wide variety of dishes ranging from rice paper rolls, to Pho to the famous Banh Mi rolls. As an extra bonus, they have a Vegan menu with heaps of options to choose from without having to worry about reading through the ingredients or asking to ensure that the dishes are meat and dairy free. This is my number one place to eat in all of Hamilton!

Internationally bringing a lot of culture of unique cuisine to the central Hamilton scene. Alongside Mr. Pickles, the courtyard views to the river offer mellow vibes on a warm evening. Reservations are recommended for the weekend.

Awesome food😊 5 stars for that. I booked in for a team lunch and the staff was friendly except one who looked like a manager. Wish they had an aircon or fan. Charging for cold water is weird. Will be going again though

OMFG - Seriously....... you haven't dined out in Hamilton until you have eaten a meal or tried one of Roberto's incredible cocktails. The owners have an amazing team that truly is a gourmet explosion of fusion. It's better than 5 Star !!

Food was fantastic, both the bahn mi and the bun noodle salad were delicious, fresh and generous servings. Would have been 5 stars but for the two service girls who chatted and ignored customers while the chef cooked and delivered the food!

They do very good vermicelli, Bahn Mi's too, but for me the Pho is the hardest thing to do very well. I've eaten at well over 50 different Vietnamese restaurants and MUCH more prefer a traditional taste to an 'Americanized' taste. Caphe Banh Mi Pho has an incredible flavor all day every day. I've eaten here when they first open & when they close.

Fresh, tasty food, amazing staff, great atmosphere. A whole vegan menu alongside the regular one! Banh Mi is always a happening place with a stellar 80s playlist. Highly recommend.

Great food, great service, great menu (mostly gluten free). Reasonably priced and good sized meals, good for shared plates or your own. Not much else to say, absolutely stoked!

I enjoyed my experience here. Very nice food and very friendly staff. It's also important to note Banh Mi Caphe is a victim of it's own success and is a popular place to dine as a result so booking is essential.

This place used to be my favorite. It is still good, but after they moved to River Bank Lane, the menu price went up and dish size got smaller it seems. Regardless, can't beat their beef Pho at least in Hamilton.

Amazing food, never disappointed. Great friendly team, always happy to greet us as regulars! Pho and fried chicken is always my fav.

So I was recommended the Vege burger from a friend, ended up with the V8 Vegan, upsized with avocado and cost $15 NZ, they have water available no wifi. I was asked if it was eat here or take away,We don't have a BurgerFuel in Gizzy - so take the opportunity to order it when we can. Great fast friendly service - even found a park just outside.

Today I tried Banh Mi Caphe, located on Victoria Street central. Was new to the scene and it’s menu as I had only tried Banh Mi once in Auckland. I can surely say I was taken away from the warm Beef Soup, SpringRolls and Chicken (There real names allude me). Great meal!!!! Special shout to the cook “Trinity” who made my meal. Spectacular food, service and restaurant.

Ga ri ga. Chicken curry was my choice tonight. Quite tasty.

I LOVE THIS PLACE IT'S MY FAV!!! Always get the Bun noodle salad with tofu and mushroom and the flavours are unreal, it doesn't taste like tofu and mushroom hahaha it's delicious 😍😍 I have bought SO MANY of my friends here and they all loved it and now returning customers so well done! I love having Tee Chap as my waiter too haha so entertaining!

I've just been in Vietnam for two weeks. I can safely say the Banh Mi and Pho is very authentic here and even better than some that I tried in Vietnam itself! Fantastic addition to Hamilton's ethnic food scene.

Good casual dining, authentic enough, but lost the moment a touch with Adam and the ants banging in the background, the food was tasty enough most dishes I rated a 3 with one stunner (the curry) a 5, and one not so great pudding, quick friendly service.

Delicious Vietnamese street-vendor-style food, extremely flavourful and fresh. A personal favourite is the Bun noodle salad. Portions are just right, and there's a good variety of plates to share and individual meals. Fantastic location, opening out onto the courtyard of Victoria on the River. The fitout is extremely nice with a high-end/street fusion to the design. Access for prams and wheelchairs is possible, but a little difficult due to the narrow accessways. Highly recommended for a drink and some fingerfood with friends, or for a meal. Go for a walk afterwards and enjoy the surroundings.

The meal was nice (I had takeaways), but not amazing; the restaurant appeared to have a great atmosphere. Menu was a little limited - I would have liked to have seen a little more selection.

There are two restaurants in Hamilton I always go to. Banh mi Caphe is one of them. They never let me down. Nothing better than a nice warm Pho in winter with some birras. They have awesome food and the crew is really friendly.
