Awesome little restaurant. Seating is limited as the space is small but the food is worth it. We'll made noodles with amazing bite and texture. We had the Beef Sirloin noodle soup and prawn dumplings, which were fantastic! Definitely recommend.

The noodles are slightly softer than those in Lanzhou, but the soup is freshly boiled and not brewed with seasonings. The meat filling of the xiaolongbao is very good, sweet and not greasy, and the skin is a little thicker. , is gold that shines wherever it goes.

Beautiful sirloin noodle broth, plenty of flavour and tender af meat. Fried pork Chinese cabbage dumpings are the bomb diggity. We had lovely service aswell yaay. Add own spice ❤️ would def come again. Large portions too!! We got the medium sized bowls and couldn't eat all.

Garden Place Noodle Bar - Hamilton, NZ Pork & Chickpea Spicy Soup This weekend I popped across the ditch to visit our dearest lovely neighbours in New Zealand. Prior to getting drunk I always want to make sure I have enough noodles in my stomach to prevent any hangovers, I think that’s science? I’m not a scientist though so maybe don’t listen to me unless you’re Donald Trump or Scott Morrison then do listen to me as you have a knack of listening to the opinions of non scientists to make decisions. Well done. Anyway, Saturday I found myself in Hamilton - All the descriptions I had been told of Hamilton have been somewhat necessary ranging from, Hamilton is a ghost town, get in and get out to the most wild “Hamilton is the world’s capital of chlamydia” - I dunno have these people ever been to the Gold Coast during the months of November and December? Anyway, this instagram is about soup not STD’s and Geography so let’s talk about the soup. Garden Place is a hole in the wall with a chef that has finessed the art of noodle acrobatics and he has a University of Lanzhou Noodles certificate to prove it. After throwing about some dough and giving us some delicately created noodles in a sichuan spiced broth I was a very happy camper to see the bowl of my dreams placed before me. While at first I was disappointed in the lack of mince these thoughts were soon gone when I mixed together the hand pulled noodles, the deliciously aromatic and numbing broth and the vegetables that floated about in the bowl. Yum. The noodles were of perfect texture. I hoofed then down faster than you can say “is that hobbit town near here”. Fantastic, I couldn't recommend this place enough! Soups are delicious, dumplings are amazing, steam buns are amazing and the noodles are are hand made by the chef right in front of you! Very good!

Not a lot of vegetarian options here but the veg steam buns and dumplings with sesame sauce are delicious. Serves bigger dumplings than other shops around. The fresh hand made noodle menu are also a must try.

Spicy Dumplings 👌 I have been going to this place for over a year now, never disappoints. Their spicy dumplings are pretty unique and are a must try. My go-to noodle soup is here, the stewed pork in particular. There is a range of good sauces to either mix into the soup or use to dip: (chilli, soy, vinegar). the large bowls are very generous, with the small ones being just right for sharing with sides. I always can go to it even when other stores are closed 😁, The store itself has a variety of seating options even for it's small size, takeaway of any leftovers is easy. Also don't forget to add the extra Egg to your noodles.

Best restaurant i've been in on my trip to new zealand, drove all the way from rotoroa just to eat here a second time. Tried two kinds of noodles, both the non fried and the fried dumplings and the streamed pork buns, everything was amazing, the food came very quickly and the staff is very welcoming and professional! Best part was the hand stretched noodles that were simply amazing! 100% whole recommended this place to everyone i know that is traveling to nz.

I tried their roast pork noodles. It's so satisfying and filling. The pork was nice and plentiful. You can choose the type of the noodles from extra-thin, thin, to broad. Next time I shall try their juicy steamed buns and remember to take a photo!

Quick stop travelling through Hamilton, played safe and went for the most popular Beef Sirloin Noodle and Pork and Cabbage Fried Dumplings. Adults and kids absolutely loved it - so incredibly tasty. Will be coming back to try other dishes.

Always love coming to this place. One of the few places where I'm not worried about picking a dud, but am overwhelmed by choices of my favourite dishes. The noodle soups are incredible, the dry noodle bowls have amazingly chewy hand-pulled noodles (all the noodles are hand-pulled, not just the dry ones), oh and the dumplings are incredible too. Dishes are all huge value for money so paying isn't even a downside with this place. Would definitely recommend!

It's not difficult to say that this chinese canteen is THE. BEST. ASIAN. RESTAURANT. IN. THE. CITY. And probably in New Zealand if you're looking for authentic chinese flavors. Nice place to eat. The prawn (prawn and somethings else) dumpling are my favourite. If you are a big noodle fan then this is the best noodle soup place to go to. Cons about this place is that it is small. We decided to eat outside which is what we preferred because it makes the food cool down alot faster.

This was literally the best restaurant. I can not stress enough how amazing the service here is the lady’s that work are the kindest people you will ever meet. The food is WOW from the delicious salted squid to the salmon risotto they also have a huge range of dietary requirement meals that look so good. ALL food is very well priced and very good for people travelling on a budget but still what a filling delicious meal. I recommend getting a table outside and ask the lovely staff for a blanket if you get cold. 100% you need to go here. If you are a coffee lover like myself you NEED the iced coffee with whipped cream.

My Wife and I had the Chef's specials tonight. I had "Chicken and mushroom sliced noodle soup", my Wife, the " hot and sour dumpling soup". We shared, and both were excellent! I fully recommend this place. The service is prompt and friendly and as it is small the work hard to keep it clean and turning over.

A hidden gem in Hamilton. One of the best noodles place I'd been to. All noodles are hand made and al Dente. Food was fresh although not necessary catering to the Kiwi pallette but do give them a try if you have the chance. The ramen aglio dish on the shop front is misleading and does not represent their true northern Chinese style cuisine.
