Good george had the tasting flight and brought home some gins too. The place was cozy simple and nice. The service was really good considering there's only two of them in the floor. Love all the beers it was such a good experience and just the right amount.

Great venue for beer lovers, I ordered a delicious IPA along with the big platter for 5 of us, a good deal. This place is well decorated, with a small shop at the entrance. It was a Sunday lunchtime and it was pleasantly quiet, so service was nice and fast. Staff is courteous and ready to serve. The outside area seems to be great at summer time. Gotta get back there then.

We stopped by for dinner before a concert. It is about 20 minutes away from the main town area but they do have their own carpark as well as plenty of street parking. As a brewery they sell squealers of beer for takeaway or you can grab a pint or tasting paddle for their different selections. I had the toasted marshmallow stout and I really enjoyed it. The menu is quite interesting and does have a fair selection of items. I had the kumara gnocchi which was really nice. The broccolini that was served with it was a bit too soft for my liking though. The fried cauliflower was nice but I wasn't a fan of the labneh spread as it was really thick and a bit tart. The place itself was quite nice to sit in. the stained glass around the front area was interesting. There was also a cat which joined our table for most of the session. This place is quite a nice place for some food and drinks but it is a bit far out from town.

We'd heard this place was good and already loved their beer, but it exceeded our expectations. We went for lunch and the restaurant was beautiful, the staff very friendly, but it was the food that really surprised us. We highly recommend the combination taco platter for 2. The pulled pork and brisket tacos were wonderful, but the dynamite chicken tacos were our favorite. (They were so good, in fact, we came back and got them for dinner that same day.) Also, if you like beer, get a tasting paddle. The IPA is one of our favorite beers, but it was a treat to discover more favorites which included the Sparkling Ale and Small Wonder. And we were especially amazed with the stout, much better than Guinness and only available in Good George bars. Good George Brewing & Dining Hall was the highlight of our trip to Hamilton.

Such a great experience, from booking a table online, for a low-key work lunch taking a Customer, to turning up, quickly escorted to our seats, and our orders being taken, to having beers and food arriving in quick time with great service. We'll definitely be back again soon!

Haha I'll admit, I should have reviewed my first visit here a year ago, but never too late for this great beer spot. What either was or looks like a converted old church with some awesome hops stained glass windows, a bar, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, we fully enjoyed this spot on our way up to Auckland. Next time we're driving down to or past Hamilton, we'll definitely be stopping by again.

Awesome shop right in the Cambridge town center, GG serves up some great brews, delicious food and awesome music! We got there early evening and ordered from the small plates "snacks" menu; Bacon Burger w/ Seasoned fries + aioli and a small (order of 6) Chili Garlic Parm Dry-Fried wings w/ house Bleu Cheese! Apa was also a great recommend from the dope wait staff! Huge props for playing six60 as soon as we walked in and for the majority of our stay! They were also the awesome venue chosen to cater for the band for their concert in Hamilton that night! 😎🤘🤙✌️ Dope digs and best wishes, team!

This place was highly recommended by friends who love Small breweries. Good George did not disappoint. Beer tasting was delicious, I loved each one I tried, plus the bonus beer slushy at the end. A must try if you love beer and are in Hamilton.

On entry, you are reminded that this is a brewery with the fantastic giant stainless steel brewing tanks behind the counter. The service was the main highlight for my wife and me, From the friendly waiter, to ordering our food, to receiving it was 20 minutes, which is amazing for the quality and quantity that we were given. I highly recommend the Cornbread as a side to any dish and for the price It's a steal. In all the 5 stars that I gave is an understatement and would happily give 6 stars if the option was given. I look forward to OUR next visit.

Great place, will totally come back again! The burgers we've had (B&B and Pork) were incredibly delicious and we totally fell in love with the beer battered fries. The ginger beer was really good as well, not to strong, just perfect and the service was quick and friendly. Can't wait to try other food there!

I like Raglan Roast coffee beans and use them at home. When they said they'd been party to this little brew-up, I thought it was worth checking out on a long shot. I'm glad I did. A brilliant beer, beautifully balanced, still refreshing, with just a nice input of coffee and just a bit malty. My favourite Good George yet.

Wide variety of beers. We took the pale ale and the IPA, they both were great. The fried plate was big and tasty. The only reason I didn’t gave them 5 stars is because we came at 8pm, while the place should be close at 10pm, but the kitchen was already closed, receiving just snacks orders, and they started preparing the place for closing while we were sitting there.

Based in a converted church, the stain glass windows to hops and a halo’ed pint of George’s current Belgian Dubbel, the Hall is open and spacious, though feels far from empty, even on a quiet day. March straight in from the off-street carpark to the towering fermentation vats and be welcomed by 15 taps of goodness ranging from the arch-achievements of the Doris Plum Cider and XPA, to their most recent limited releases, this week was Passion Pulp Sour Ale. Serving a snack menu in the quiet hours, you’ll be exceptionally well catered for with either an interesting take on known pizzas - try the coffee-rubbed lamb pizza! - or a selection of moorish wedges or platters. Tours available, but why not guide yourself with a tasting tray of beers for $16! Special events several nights a week, plan for Good George to be a big night. There’s even a covered outdoor area, guiding by more tanks, so you can start at lunch and whittle away the hours. Had a great evening here. Had dinner and tried a selection of their beer. Staff were fantastic and extremely knowledgeable about the beer they serve up. Good menu, particularly for those who like bbq and smoked meats. Excellent with kids. Highlight was getting an impromptu tour of the brewery from the duty manager Leslie, who is a credit to the bar and brand.

A colleague and I popped in for lunch. He had the carnivore pizza and I had the fish and chips. The pizza was a good hand stretched affair with a variety of cured meat. The fish was fresh with a decent rocket salad. The fries were the factory variety but cooked properly. We were working through a busy day so didn’t get to have a beer. I’ve had a few and they are reliably good. Overall remake quality acts good service that makes you feel like a friend.

Craft brewery with wide selection of their own beers and ciders, and good food. We had a flight of 5 each, to try a variety. Our favourites were the XPA and the Doris Plum cider. You can bring them home in growlers or smaller bottles they called squealers. For food, I had the mixed meat platter - pork ribs, and the beef tripe (?) - all fall off the bone tasty! My friends hot pizzas, which were thin but still with the taste of dough - juicy ingredients that didn't leak through.

Went to Imbibe for my partners birthday there were 8 of us. We were well looked after and food was amazing. Service was brilliant and waiters keen to ensure our meals were up to our standard.Has changed since our last visit so now with a different menu but out of our 4 meals one was very disappointing as steak was under cooked, at least that meal ended up free.

ight next to Colgate University, this spot has a cool bar/kitchen with plenty of seating. We checked it out for brunch on a Sunday but wound up getting food off the regular menu. They have tons of vegetarian options. Highly recommend the Funky Goat sandwich. The veggie/vegan burger was interesting but flavor was just okay.

Cant believe the comments about bad service. Last Friday evening was the 1st Chiefs home game, and as we have done in past seasons called in for a quick meal before the game. As we had struck more traffic than usual on our drive over from the BOP we didn't have much time to eat. Young waiter was FANTASTIC, found us a table, got our drinks and meals to us smartly and was so cheerful. WE WILL BE BACK.

First time I have been here and although full and busy the service was excellent. The food arrived quickly and was well presented and delish! The waitress we had was friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. I love the history behind Good George and the fact I am supporting locally made. Black Doris Cider is so so good, I even got some to take home.

Fantastic food and beer as always. One problem was the service. It would've been great if one poor young lady hadn't been left to take food and drink orders and work behind the bar on her own. To make matters worse, there were other staff sitting around doing nothing, granted, their shift probably hadn't started yet but that doesn't make the customer, sitting in this heat, waiting to order their first drink any happier. Anyhoo, that's my whine, it cost you a star, but I'm sure you'll recover.

We had our wedding reception at Good George Dining Hall in Jan 2019. We will never forget the manaakitanga the staff showed us. They were attentive and kind and did everything they could for us. Things like lighting the candles in our centrepieces, saving all the entrée leftovers for us, helping to bring our fairy lights down at the end of the night, and bringing out a celebratory drink to my husband and I (we had a bar tab and they asked if we wanted a celebration shot), and much more. The general manager, Joe, was very relaxed and accommodating, which helped us de-stress. He organised a high quality sound system on our behalf (for a fraction of the price too), and also blocked off our space so we could set up earlydespite the Hall being open and trading that day. The food was excellently timed, mouth-wateringly good, and in big portions. The beer and cider were excellent as always. So many of our friends and family said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. It was so much better than anything we could have asked for! Big thank you to everyone at Good George for helping to make the night magical. We can't wait to come back with our friends to celebrate our 1st anniversary.

Beers are good, and there are always a couple of special concoctions on tap. Food ranges from ok to really bad, which is not good enough given the price of the meals. Would recommend to steer well clear of the steak and stick to your typical pub food such as burgers if you have to eat

Quite expensive food options I had the short rib which was cooked really well and tender but was almost flavourless so was very disappointed. Good George and it's variety of venues have become somewhat of a Hamilton institution. Their Frankton establishment is no exception, offering a funky location not far from the city's cricket ground. There's an excellent outdoor setting with great downtempo live music adding to the atmosphere. Sadly, the venue itself is let down by what can only be described a fairly typical kiwi service culture. If you're lucky enough to be approached at the table you can find yourself waiting 5 minutes for that beer you asked, if you get bored and head to the bar you'll likely see two or three people fidgeting about while one is trying to frantically serve customers. It's not that the staff are unfriendly but their level of awareness can be below par at times. On our most recent visit we ordered some spicy wings to go with our beer, quite frankly, they were rubbish - tasteless and oily. Although, I have eaten there on other occasions and there are some good food options, mostly of a sort of upmarket bistro variety.

Pretty disappointed in the service. I was waiting for 5mins in front of the bar person as he was serving a customer, then once he finished serving him, he went away, came back and served someone else, the guy waiting had pointed out to him I was waiting before him, and as I started talking to him, he decided to serve the guy instead. It wasn't all bad service, just this one person inparticular who needs to brush up on his customer service skills.
