H.Absolutely divine food, came out super quick even though they were quite busy. Our server Renee was absolutely lovely, knowledgeable, and attentive, so much so that we felt she deserved to be left a tip. Thanks guys for an awesome experience and gorgeous food to match! Definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

J.Really really good service. Genuine team of staff with welcoming attitude from the moment we came in to the moment we left. Awesome experiences. Good value menu, big serving size for adults and for kids menu, comes with a soft drink and ice cream. Nice and clean interior, ample seating and good ambience. Plenty parking spaces at the front too. Handy location by the NEW World roundabout, easy access from other parts of Hamilton. The waitress who served us was very friendly and not rushing or pressure to order. We originally made a booking but mistakenly for another location which looks and sounds similar to Rototuna. But the manager at the door was more than welcoming and her can do attitude was really appreciated. Highly recommended for a visit and we will be back there again.
j.We are a family from Auckland, My steak was cooked to perfection, also my 7 year old went and thanked the chef for his meal and got a free Lone Star Tshirt, Awesome team, A++ for service.
D.All had yummy dinners. Waitress knew nothing and couldn't tell us anything about the food when we asked. But we all ended up with delicious dinners

D.Awesome being able to order food while in level 3 unfortunately the food isn't very good, my meal didn't taste freshly cooked. The limited menu is very Mexican and meat selections are pretty poor no lamb?
There was also so much sauce in the takeaway container the food didn't taste like anything else
A.Nice restaurant and good service. Unfortunately food taste / value is average for the steak as this place I assume is primary a steak house.
We had 2 types of Stir Crazy Sirloin and Paris Texas. Sirloin was very chewy for medium and had to return (no charge so that was good). Then ordered Honky Tonk Chicken which was better than the steak.
Kids had hero burger and fish and chips which they loved.
Dessert included Creme Brulee and Banoffee Pie. Creme Brulee was excellent and would highly recommend that.
Mocktail Drinks were probably not worth it.
Over all 3/5 for taste and value but 5/5for service and ambiance.

Y.I had my birthday here recently. I have to say. If you've eaten here before and enjoyed it, you'll continue to enjoy it. Their delivery of serving the same delicious food is consistent every time I go. The ribs and chicken nibbles are a highlight. The garlic bread is good but obviously smaller than it use to be

S.Pretty disappointing really. I ordered the Glen Campbell burger - chicken was dry and to be honest I could have bought a similar item at McDs or a better burger from Burger Fuel. Hubby got the beef burger and it was certainly better than the chicken one but still at over $19 and with a 40 minute wait there are better options out there. Toilet cubicle was out of soap and toilet paper. Shame really because we enjoyed both Taupo and Hamilton Central Lone Star restaurants.

E.The person on the front desk needs to learn some customer service skills and try smiling as well as another couple of the wait staff. We were seated and got drinks in reasonable time considering they were busy but also we were not offered water like the tables on either side. We ordered "Lasso of Hog" because we had it previously and it was tender this time it was more on the dry side. We ordered a child's menu "Road Runner Special" (Gluten Free) instead of breadcrumbs is just salt and pepper (BORING) Coleslaw - now how many kids eat that and chips which were very salty. this was topped off with dessert "Lone Star Mudslide" and for the Gluten Free part, the Mudslide is left out then to add insult we had to pay $2 for Aioli because he can't have tomato sauce.

j.Its a lone star, what more to say? Visited shortly after new year, it was understaffed for the number of customers, but the staff were handling it well. They kept their cool, and were friendly. That often makes up for slower than normal food, so well done.

J.Our server was great but we spent 1.5 hours waiting on our meals which is okay considering how busy they were but we both left still hungry and went to maccas straight after. First time eating at a lonestar and leaving still hungry usually cannot finish the meal.

K.Poor service, booked for 7.30 and arrived on time, was told to wait 15mins, other people who arrived after us were shown tables before us. Went to the counter at 8, saw 3 free tables on my walk up. Was told by a second lady that a table would get sorted now, and surprisingly received no apology, so I said we had a booking for 7.30, and still nothing. I wasn't rude at all so expected an apology for the wait time.
The food was great, as always, but will not be going back to Rototuna Lone Star, sorry.

B.Have dined here a few times over the years. Usually walk away satisfied but were disappointed recently when we attended as a whanau and weren't allowed to buy anything from the normal menu, because we chose the special which came with a set menu. Really wanted to add lots of chilli prawns to the table but they rejected our money. Oh well!

r.First time to this venue and impressed with size and layout. Overall food was ok. Had to wait an hour from ordering mains till they arrived at table and forgot to bring one of our cocktails until we asked for it 15 min's later. Not sure but they may have misplaced our table order. BB ribs were dry and overcooked, but they did comp that meal, hence the four stars given. Usually like lone star but today was not a great experience.

E.My friends and I went here for brunch on Sunday and after ordering the hotcakes i was shortly delivered a plate with ice cream and 2 small flat "hotcakes" however after discussing my disappointment with the waitress she happily returned the plate to the kitchen and gave me the menu to choose another option, to my satisfaction shortly afterwards my eggs Benedict was served and what a delicious dish it was. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and the staff were great. Just don't order the hotcakes 😂
D.Better this time. Returned after a previous poor experience, although reception was unattended for a long time when arrived, plus minor mix up with taking and providing order which was quickly resolved. Rednecks ribs as a shared starter were legendary as was the Lamb shoulder main. Left full and groaning 👍

E.There is a dessert there that is awesome and delicious. However I think the quality has gone downhill in the past few years. Very slow service a lot of the time. It also says they close at 11 online but this is not the case - when we walked in at 9:30pm they told us they were closed and looked as if they had been closed for at least a half hour.
Someone needs to adjust this so others aren't in the same boat.

We were walk-ins, so no reservations ot bookings, we were seated immediately and the service from the staff was very good. The food was great the selection of beers and wine's was also good. On a whim this place is great for couples yet just as inviting for large families or large groups. Well done Lone Star Cafe and Bar Rototuna. To all my followers and viewers awesome dining experience would definitely recommend this place.

H.Great restaurant with generous portions and delicious food. It was busy so there was a short wait but there was space at the bar to have a drink and the wait went quickly. Staff are helpful and many people seemed to be celebrating an occasion even bringing cake. It can get loud but nothing too major.

C.Having previously dined receiving excellent service I visited again with a friend but was disappointed. I ordered the pork belly finding it tough and unpleasant. Although I normally like follow up by the waitress I found being asked 4 times if ready to order and 6 times if we wanted dessert a bit much.
The upside was the waitresses were pleasant. When I requested a Vienna coffee the barista presented it perfectly although it was an uncommon request.
Perhaps some training on social cues wouldn't go astray.
P.Happily accommodated a group of 13 adults and 4 children at very short notice. The service was friendly, attentive and quick. Every person in the group thoroughly enjoyed their meal and all meals came to the table together. Spot on.
L.Great food and service. Portions are giant, like the american state the restaurant is themed around. They don't do reservations, but we found that even at 6pm on Friday they could accommodate us in their large seating area. I'm definitely going to go back!

D.Lone star is always a reliably good meal. Portion sizes are huge though so if you are not a big eater then maybe skip straight to the main meal. The desserts used to be amazing (the Jack Daniels self saucing pidding in particular) but lately they have been smaller and dry so I would recommend going elsewhere for dessert.

J.We quite often head to lone star as it is good for an early dinner out with kids.. we went on monday (labour day) the woman on the front desk was clearly not happy to be working!!!! I would have normal said something at time... but already have two year old twins that have tantrums i need to deal with..
Anyway apart from grumpy pants... food and rest of staff were nice!

y.Free parking behind the building. Was told there would be a 45 minute wait, to be seated.(usual for the lonestar) one hour 30, later. Then almost half hour wait for the meals. My parents both had the veal. Sadly both their meals were cold. The waiter offered 2 drinks off the tab. However there were no drinks on the tab, because during the wait to be seated staff refused to put drinks on a tab until we were seated for the meal. So all drinks, had before the meal were paid upfront. Put aside the 2 hour wait, cold meals served.. The food is delicious. I always have the Dixie chicken. Glad to see potato mash served instead of roasted potato. Salad is always good. And the extra portion of sauce for the chicken was generous. My son had the. 9 ribs and fries. He was very full and enjoyed his meal. (both our meals were hot..but having my parents at the table without their plates was awkward) desserts were the pavlova and khalua cheesecake. Both excellent I've been told. Warm cosy place. Sadly lacking in promptness. 2hrs.. For a meal.... Longest wait ever at a restaurant!!!!! A warm thanks to the waiter, who unexpectedly found me a chair, while I stood waiting, for a table. Chivalry isn't dead. Thankyou!!

B.You pay for quantity rather than quality. Can be a good thing for some of the meals. Middle range prices. Cannot customise food as I suspect some of it is pre prepared. Good family atmosphere.
Y.Enjoyed the meal and tried to download app to receive free dessert. Managed on one ph but wasnt offered the wifi password so my partner could download the app as well. Ended up leaving without getting the free dessert. Disappointing as we told the waitress we couldn't download it and we didnt get the opportunity to ask for the password as the menus were whipped away as she said "so that's it then".

C.One of the best meals I've had at Lonestar - babyback ribs were fantastic, the servers were wonderful, lost 1 star though because of the service from the front of house person and the system for getting people seated at a table and paying the bill was messy and long - too congested at the front desk having the same person seating people and running the til - ended up having to find one of the servers on our own to get a table after waiting 10mins for the front of house to completely ignore us. Small tweaks to this system would make dining here 5 stars :)
