t.Fresh seafood, well cooked chips, steak egg burgers are made to perfection. Staff give great service and are very friendly. If you haven't been here before your missing out. Long story short it's the best fish n chip shop in Hamilton!!
i.Great fish, excellent chips. But been there twice. First time they didn't include a paua fritter with the order, this time no potato fritters. I expect to get what's paid for, too late to go back when you get home.

A.Used to be the best family owned fish and chip shop in the area but had a change of owners about a year ago and while the food is still better than the average fish and chip shop the atmosphere is different and there is a grumpy and at times rather unwelcoming lady there that sours the experience. Still worth going for the food but order ahead of time to avoid sitting and seeing the angry Asian lady grumpy at work lol. I do go back but try others as well so no longer my go to fish and chip shop in Hamilton

J.The food at Oxford Takeaways is consistently fresh & delicious .The batter they use is very light so the flavour of the food stands out. They ask you once how you like your eggs - hard or runny, how you like your toasted sandwiches - soft or crunchy and then every time you go there you get perfectly cooked and presented food. They even put beetroot in the burgers! The owner is very pleasant and hard working and all the staff are really friendly. Undoubtedly the best takeaways in Hamilton

D.Asked for blood and guts on top of chips and got little to nothing. Fish portions are small and the burgers are nothing special. Not what it used to be so if your the owner and your reading this it maybe a wise decision to listen to the feedback your getting from others and make changes. We used to travel across from maeroa just to order from you regularly but now your a last resort. My partners ordering from you as I write this and we hope that some things may have changed but if not we'll be going elsewhere in future
R.Best fish & chips in Hamilton, we drive across town to get them. Our recent meal we had the most yummy tharaki, super fresh and fresh scallops. Always yummy chips too. Recommend 😊

M.Big portions, fair prices, and a really friendly owner (?) working when we went. Simple and tasty and the fish was incredibly flakey and delicious! Tartar sauce is a bit small. Probably order 1 for every 2 pieces of fish or so.
S.Was hesitant after hearing of new management but i can tell you the fish and chips were great.. the only loss of a star was the crumbed scollops that were so small, it was clearly not $1.80 worth and after ordering near a dozen, it was more like a nibble then a bite or 2, so hopefully they can find real size scollops and not these finger tip size ones.
W.This place has the biggest best fresh fish I have ever tasted. Also it's well priced. The mussel and paua fritters to me out of this world most watering. Also the customer service was a ten. Living in Aussie we don't get this spoilt so those of you who live in Hamilton if you like your fish and chips it's worth going ten to twenty minutes to get the best fish and chips in town if they had ten stars I'd give them ten out of ten.

T.Oxford takeaways is one of if not the best store I've seen in a long time there fish are wonderfull and well sized the staff are wonderfull and I can tell they really care about the customers and overall a wonderfull experience would definitely recommend if looking for a bite to eat

M.Excellent fast service. I asked for 2 pieces of fish under-done and minimum chips cost approx $12 plus 15 minute max wait time. The place was busy with phone orders and walk in customers. Worth the wait. Expensive price but worth it value for your money.

J.Great service. I'm not really a chippie person, but my gosh, those chips are YUM! The only thing I didn't really enjoy that much were the burgers. Hence a 4/5 star rating.
R.Oxford Takeaways would probably one of the best fish and chips shop I've been. The owner was really generous and accomodating. If you don't know what fish you are buying, he will gladly show you the picture and give you a bit of info about it. He was using a thin batter for the fish so it was truly "more of a fish" unlike other shops. It was the owner's business for fifty years hence, he really know his fish.
My wife and I ordered the Elephant Fish which, according to the owner, came from the South Island. It was delicious and distinct from the other fish. We had a chance to taste their Hoki which is famous in all fish and chips shops here in Auckland. With pride and glory, the owner stated that their Hoki is really fresh and delicious compared to the ones sold here. True enough, it was tastier and it doesn't taste like an "old stock".
I would recommend Oxford Takeaways to my family and friends.
M.Been looking for good F n C for past 3 years. Don't eat them often but when I do I want fresh, crunch, right temperature, clean and sweet. Been to OXFORD twice now and they deliver big time. A fish burger tonight on a soft bun filled with crisp salad. Batter thin and evenly coated on delish fish. All this for only $5. I think I've found my place. Thanks Oxford Takeaways, I'll be back.

P.Oxford has the best fish and chips. I have been around a few times and Oxford has beat all the others. I recommend the Elephant fish if it's available. The owners are beyond nice and accommodating! Don't pass up a stop at Oxford!

L.Oxford Takeaways is our local Fish and Chip shop. It was owned and run by a lovely Kiwi couple, their children and grandchildren. Lovely service, nice big fat crispy golden chips, cooked in clean oil. A variety of fish to choose from such as snapper, hoki, terakihi, lemonfish, and flounder. Home made patties and tasty fresh burgers. There are new owners now and I hope they carry on serving delicious fresh f&c's.

A.My favorite! Battered mussels are always awesome! Chocolate wraps you have to try them and cheese and onion pattie are on our standard list along with the fish n chips.
A.They got everything right, the fish was fresh hot and lightly battered, the chips had a light crunchy shell and soft interior, and their burgers are great! Nothing fake to be seen awesome!

A.Bloody Great tucka. I am a Aussie and love my fish and chips and I really wanted to try some Kiwi Fush and Chups so we headed down to Oxford Takeaway after 4 days at the field days to test it out.
The service was terrific and the fush even better. Ol Mate knows what he is doing and you can tell that he loves cooking great tucka.
