Definitely 5 star service plus food! I ordered dumplings in the final hour almost closing time ! The staff happily took my order with a happy face ! And dumplings were so yum 😁

Hidden pearl next to uni, delicious pork noodles, with tasteful sauce and soft pasta. Owners working all day long, also selling handmade tofu. Place is small and cozy, looks you are eating in their dining room. Dozens of combinations of noodles and ingredients chosen on the spot. Arrived in the lunch time and was quiet and clean, some old ladies were there, giving a good impression of the quality and reputation.

During my one-week visit at Waikato University, I had food here six days in a row. The Shanxi noodle soup is a good value and has many meat choices. Their baozi and meatballs are also my favorite. I tried their spicy food like hot and sour shredded potato and boiled fish (picture attached) which taste great!

Good, a variety of options, very kind owner. Shanxi province in China is well known for their chunky noodle, and there we are, we can try their noodles here Yummy!

It's not every day you get to come across such a hidden gem! Absolutely love their chunky handmade noodles with pork. It's served in a deliciously thick gravey-like soup and has become a quick favourite of ours. So much so that if we pass through Hamilton we have to stop to visit this shop and get that dish! The staff and owners don't speak a lot of English but they're warm and friendly plus the menus are in English (with Chinese too) and there's photos to help as well. The food we had was delicious! Can't wait to visit again.

This small restaurant really doesn't look fancy but the quality of the food is without question great. The flavours are fresh and tasty and based on the amount of Chinese patrons that it must be very authentic. I find that their prices are decent value for the quantity and quality that you get. Also if you are feeling inspired to cook at home they sell fresh handmade soft tofu at a much better price than the commercially packaged stuff. If you do want to buy the fresh tofu I would suggest taking your own container as they only wrap it in a plastic bag.

Edit at bottom* It is what it is. Food is reasonably fresh and tastes good. Authentic. Only issue I had is not being Chinese so I had no idea what I was ordering and had no help. But enjoyed what I got. Edit: I retract my 5 star review. They have questionable hygiene. And they messed up an order and gave me some rancid smelling pork soup. I have no idea what part of the pig it was but smelt bad.

The food is fabulous, well priced (20 dumplings for $15) and the owners are lovely. Just don't try ordering through their website, the owners are from the analog-era and the website is run by someone else offsite (presumably their son) and the integration with the restaurant isn't quite there yet. But I came in during lunch-time, had to place a new order at the counter and they made fresh dumpling for me within 10min.

Me and my wife had a nice lunch there, I recommend this place, very affordable and the foods are very nice, I’m from Auckland I usually go to ChinaTown Dominion road in Mt Roskell but this one is way better than those in Auckland, the place is close to the Waikato Uni. 👍👍👌👌👌👌

Always keep on going back to their Wonton Soup, it's a comfort food for me :) My friends tried one dish with aubergine and a broccoli/cauliflower stir fry dish, loved those too. Great flavours. Must try this humble place :)

Excellent noodle house. I mainly get the beef with thick noodles so I can say that I love them. They will even give you extra noodles for free if you ask. What more can you say for. They have an interesting range of other Asian cuisine that all my Asian friends love. Including pig ears. So if you like trying new food. Or you know you love it already. Go here to try it.

Great place to fulfill all your tofu needs. They make their own, so it's all pretty fresh.

All the noodles served are made fresh to order straight from dough. That is what we proudly call it HANDMADE. The thing makes us much better is that our chefs have over 40 years of speciality in making noodles and special salads, guaranteed you call tell the difference when you try our foods, and become one of our valuable long term regular customers. This place is really wonderful for fresh tofu - especially now that the asian grocery store in Hillcrest is closed. Fresh tofu, tofu noodles, fried tofu, seaweed salad, tofu salads and hot menu options - I think the cold options are moreso available at lunchtime. Lots of seemingly vegan options (language barrier for enquiring about fish sauce etc..) Its a $1.20 per tofu square, you can bring your own containers - I aquire too many of these tofu containers... Very friendly staff... Glad I found this place :)

Firstly, the old lady at the counter is RUDE. The noodles aren't bad, I've had much better Chinese noodles elsewhere. It's a unique type of Chinese noodle though (hand cut) and if you want to try something new in Hamilton you could consider it.
