T.Wow! This place is soooo good. Like eating food in India. We have tried Spice Chef Special Chicken, Veg manchurian, Chole bhature, Tikki Chaat, Raita so many times and every time the taste is mind blowing. The balance of spices, quantity and their service - everything is 5 stars. LOVE LOVE LOVE and we will keep ordering

S.I chose this one because they did delivery and I was unwell so wanted delivered food. Anyway, I did not see any indication on the website whether the curries came with rice or not, so I made my own rice. It turned out rice was included, but less rice in the end than I wanted anyway. Payment also didn't seem to work on the website well. The food was timely. It's hard to tell because of how I was unwell whether the taste was good because if my sense of smell was impaired, that would likely impact the flavour. Bearing that in mind, it seemed to me merely sweet and creamy but not much else. Also, the chicken looked weird but that's probably just me. I had Chicken Korma and Mango. Yes I know Mango is meant to be sweeter

K.OK so I am a very keen Indian food consumer. I also enjoy the food mega hot.
I come here a last week week and the chef spent significant time preparing my meal to my liking, bringing out a sample of the sauce for me until I was happy with the heat.
I just went back tonight and again they offered me a sample of the sauce to make sure it was to my liking.
I have been to so many Indian restaurants and this place is now my local.
I travel across the city just to come here and I absolutely recommend people to try this place because the chef and staff really make sure they are providing quality food to their customers.

M.I was driving through five cross roads, windows down on a beautiful sunny day. Suddenly I caught a whiff of spices Indian cuisine. I knew I had to turn around and indulge in the lunch special, and boy I do not regret it. It was the most deliciously spiced butter chicken I have ever had. They nailed the spice balance and the portion size. I left feeling beyond satisfied not only with my meal but the polite service of the staff. I have been eating at spices (dine in and delivery) for the last 3 years and I highly recommend!!
J.Really delicious food (I had chicken korma, so good) and a good lunch time special for curry, naan, and a drink. Pleasant, happy staff who look like they enjoy their jobs, awesome. I'll be back for more for sure. They also adjust spice levels to suit your taste, so anything from mild to sweat-inducing is on offer. Be brave.
L.Amazing vegan options. We got the Tofu Butter Chicken and the Vegan Mandras. Full of flavour. Highly recommend.

J.**due to response from owner I have changed to 3 stars as to be fair we were told about the dine in additional charge. It is not easy to see this from the billboard advert or the menu but it is on their website. Also, the food really was delicious.
Food was good, went for the lunch special. Delicious flavour however the 2 star is for service, cleanliness, extra charges, portion size.
-The service was poor.. we asked for water and were brought two glasses from another half cleaned table. Blatantly infront of us. I asked for clean glasses and she got them from another table.
-the table was streaky from a dirty cloth
-we were charged $2 extra for dining in!!!!
-the portion sizes were tiny. I know it was a lunch menu..but I'm talking less than the size of my cupped palm.
-we asked for another small bowl of rice and was told there would be a charge.
Despite this...I have given two stars due to the flavour of the curry and the delicious bread. But I wouldn't return again due to the numerous other stores close by and the poor service.

A.Have been to spice a few times now, haven’t been disappointed yet. As I have travelled around India I like to say I know good Indian food when I taste it! Absolutely love the veg korma which is always spiced perfectly and tastes fresh. Tonight I went with a vegan friend who adored the dal and said it was the best he had tasted in NZ!
Pav always remembers me and was more than happy to explain all the dishes to my friend and what could be changed for him.

The waiter was absolutely lovely even though he was under a bit of pressure and there was a bit of a wait but well worth it!! Def coming back here again once they get their liquor license back so I can have a drink with my meal!
