I ate here with a friend before lockdown and found the pricing decent for the portion size. Service was ok too and wait time was reasonable. The cabinet display was really nice but the tables needed a bit more attention/cleaning.

I have frequented this lovely local over the years and realise only now that I have not reviewed them. This place is just SO GOOD. I love that there is a non-vegan place with vegan options this good in Hamilton (pickings are slim). The first time I dined here I was astonished at how delicious the jack fruit burger was. I have not tried but have heard rave reviews for the vegan chicken burger. The fries are incredible too. They even have dessert! The chocolate peanut butter pie is delicious, almost sickeningly rich, but incredible. In terms of feel, I like the modern, lofty design of the diner and usually they play excellent music.

Awesome sides, loved the cheese and gravy fries, and the Mac n cheese was good. Chicken was juicy, and chicken sandwiches had good flavor. Personally, I like my hot chicken with a bit more kick, but all in all, was really tasty, and service was great too. Definitely a H town gem

Chicken worth the wait. Have eaten there several times, dine in and takeaways. Pretty quick turn around on orders, friendly and helpful staff. The special Bonsai belly burger they have at the moment is incredible, the daikon is an awesome match with the pork belly. The proper hot fried chicken is my go to, for someone that enjoys (not just likes, but enjoys!) heat it is the perfect level.

Booked this restaurant for a farewell of our homestay student. Most of us ordered burgers and mine was the veggie one. It was fantastically prepared, tasty and spice as I like it. For all, we order some fries and the salad was superb. Air conditioning inside and fresh air outside. Food came reasonably fast, staff super friendly and efficient. Will come back again!

This is a great little place for a meal. Very clean and tidy plus the staff are really friendly. The meal was great. Beans in garlic Kumera chips and a half chicken which tasted great. I will definitely be back for another meal.

The service was good and the place has a very lively and pleasant vibe. The food is priced well which is why this was my 3rd visit in the last few weeks. The proper hot isn't hot or even mildly spicy. It's drenched in oil which actually doesn't go well with deep fried chickem. I definitely don't recommend this dish. Unless what you consider delicious is; heavily oiled meat that just slides down your throat without tasting it. Biting into the white bread that soaked the oil up was quite gross actually - haha like biting into a sponge

Driving up Grey street from our motel, Winner Winner grabbed us by its name first, giving us a pause and a chuckle. Dinner was needed and fried chicken suited our group, so looking in at a bustling inviting front we gave it a go. The service was prompt and straightforward, all good for our group. Very clean and well maintained premises. We had a one-piece chicken dinner, cheeseburger and bone broth.The chicken was succulent, pleasing on the plate with its cut and garnish of fried kale, while the cheeseburger was quickly devoured with a PSA given after about how saucy it was! Really pleasing, as was the bone broth which had an excellent balance of seasoning and unusual enough to recommend giving a go to anyone. Definitely tempted by the pies on the counter at the ordering point, the prices were about what you'd expect for this kind of experience. Would return to try other menu items.

Went here for my bday brunch. Oh man it was just awesome. I could not fault the food, everything I ordered is in the pictures and it was all absolutely delicious. The staff and service was awesome, they catered well with our large group. Special shout out to the main guy Jay who served us, he was just so good. It's service like that that makes you feel welcome and happy to come back. 5/5 rating, nice one Winner winner.

My wife and I tried this for the first time recently. Without a word of a lie, the white BBQ chicken bacon burger is hands down the best food I have ever put in my mouth. It's the first thing on my mind when I wake and the last when I slumber. It has ruined all other food for me. Everything else is like wet ashes in my mouth. I miss that burger. I yearn for the day another one is in my grasp.

Unhealthy and expensive. If you like fried chicken meat and grease-soaked bread, washed down with fizzy drink this is your place. I really don't know what the fuss is about. Oh yeah I forgot about the tables - the sticky, gross tables. Yuck! Fortunately we had our dog with us, he's got a cast-iron stomach so we fed him the chicken. EDIT: While I don't retract my comments, you get extra stars for the nice reply.

Very, very, VERY GOOD vegan burger, with BBQ pulled jackfruit. Probably the best I had in NZ so far. Firstly awesome staff! It’s so nice to be greeted in a friendly manner. The lady at the till had great customer service skills. I ordered the cheese burger and man was it delicious!! Came here for an early dinner. Had the basic chicken was was great cooked and fried in buttermilk and coating. I had the loaded fries with gravy and cheese, it was nice but the gravy not great, was a bit gloopy and seemed like had a lot of cornflour in, a nice gravy would have topped off the meal.

What a nice surprise! And very popular too! I would say that the style of decorations and mrnu is trendy. It appears that the patronage is mainly the younger crowd. From students to couples with children. Very friendly family environment. If you are a bit older, don't worry. You will still have company. The menu is focussed on chicken. And a very good selection of chicken. Quite a few meals is for the really health crowd. We even found a lactose free desert! And it tasted really nice. This place definately deserves more try-outs!

Winner Winner is no mere chicken, not for the basic, this proper hot location is a must visit, loaded with fries, you're never more than half a chicken away from a great meal. The staff are absolutely worth having a yarn with and the atmosphere is nothing short of what you'd want while enjoying the succulent dishes served with only the finest sauces. Must recommend, this is the place I take people when they want good food in Hamilton.

Easily my favourite fast food/takeaway place, though dining inside is also a great option! The chicken is the best I've personally ever had and I love the fresh salads they have available, and sides. I don't feel like it's such a cheat meal when dining here. Except when you have their desserts...they are quite naughty but soooo gooooood! We three ordered: *Feed 4 - whole chicken with 4 sides or salads - we got the broccoli salad, kumara salad, carrot salad and garlic bread for the sides. *Kids cheeseburger *The Ohio burger (was on special for $18) *Loaded fries with cheese and gravy Let me tell you. There is not one thing here that I would not recommend. Delicious brioche.. Thick, juicy beef patties... Nom Nom gravy and mozz cheese... The chicken was flavoursome and moist THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH. And look, don't even get me STARTED on the salads. Flavour in every fork full, not even going to lie. You can dine on the salads alone. But wait. There's more. We topped off our poor eating skills by buying one of every dessert on offer *Smores pie *Pinky pie *Banoffee pie *Peanut butter pie *Caramel cookie *Pineapple lump slice Yeah look, had nothing bad to say about any of these. Dark choc in the pinky and peanut butter so if you're more of a milk choc fan, stick to the Smores and the Banoffee. Each bite was amazingly diabetic-inducing. They graciously gave us takeaway containers because our eyes were too big and we barely made a dent in the amazing portion sizes. What an amazing afternoon eating my way to an afternoon nap. Would recommend them any day, although you'll need a decent appetite and a good sack of gold to get your moneys worth 😊

I don't like wood fire style cooked meat. If you like wood fire/charcoal taste on your chicken I'd recommend it. Their salads & sides are good though. & they have free water available if you're thirsty otherwise they have a range of drinks available as well. Their desserts are wonderful @ $8 a slice or $4.5c per afghan.

Went here yesterday. We ordered the two vegan options, the special burger and the BBQ Jackfruit one. They were both AMAZING! Best vegan burgers I have ever had. I am a Vegan Chef and have made burgers myself countless times, but I was really surprised. The chicken is great however for the amount you get (small portion) not as good value for money as the burgers. Was hoping the ranch was like American style ranch which I miss heaps but it is more like American sour cream and chives. Still tasty but quite different. The KC BBQ sauce is definitely in line with American BBQ and I could imagine having it in Texas. The chicken would be 5 stars if I could get some chicken breast meat but the sandwich was all dark meat and was a tad greasy. Still enjoyable though.

Made a trip up to Auckland to pick up some stuff and on the way back to Wellington we definitely had to make a stop off at winner winner. That chicken hits the spot and definitely gave us comfort on the 6hour drive back! Hmmm not too bad, but over priced for what you get.. Left feeling hungry after my partner and I had the "feed for two", half a chicken and 2 sides... 2 sides are $10 so the chicken is how much...hmmm Tasted exactly like the smoked chicken you can get from the supermarket for half the price.... Will be back to try the fryed chicken and a burger or 2.
