r.Great service especially as they were really busy! The little boy working there made a great spicy chicken burger! Hoki was yum too.
S.The whitebait fritters absolutely yummy. The fritters were real whitebait and source locally. Service with a smile. The kumara chips also good.
R.We had chips from this Shop. The chips was well cooked. However, I took one star off because the chips smelled like fish. I believe they used the same oil to fry both fish and chips. The fish smell did not go well with our quest. Otherwise all good but expect price to be more because it is Hanmer Springs.
D.The food was superb. However, it was disappointing to see the cook not wasn't wearing a mask yet was around his neck. He also took a mouthful of cooked chips from the basket, then took handfuls of uncooked chips to place them in the basket for cooking without washing his hands. Certainly not best food hygiene practice.
A.Tasty fish and chips offerings near the pools with picnic tables outside. Reasonable prices and good sided portions. Kumera chips were crisp, they punch holes in the paper to let steam out.
W.Firstly the food is good. However the service had room for improvement. Busy day being Easter Monday so lerhaps not the best day to have a trainee and a 14 year old as front of house.. the trainee took the order wrong as he could not find each item on the POS terminal. Once food was served I advised that the order was wrong the 14 year old gave me attitude.. not cool dude. Lessons to be learned
J.Blue cod was delicious. The chips were very crispy as you may be able to see in the photo. Still tasty and a well priced lunch.
L.Tasty and fresh cooking fish & chips. Good value for the day for two people. Also you can have ice cream as well and cold drinks. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The shop is located close to the the Hanmer hot pools. I recommend this shop and I will mention the wheelchair people are welcome.
H.Great fish and chips and real berry ice cream! We ordered battered blue cod and chips - fish was fresh and the batter was thin, light and crisp (one of the best we've hard :)) chips were great too, light and my greasy.
The real berry ice cream is made on demand with frozen yogurt and berries.
H.Really impressed with this place. The blue cod was to die for. Great big hunk at $9 I felt this was pretty good value for money. The crabstick was great, curry spring roll was average.

L.Reading some colorful reviews, I must say there seems to be some confusion for people who wants grilled fish at a fish and chip shops. And I don't know what this al guy wants... his food or his money... no pleasing that guy lol...
They serve fish n chips with other food and drinks. The most reasonably price place to feed a whanau in hanmer (tourist town), line gets big on busy days with people wanting bang for buck.
Y.Ordered the 2 fish of the day and chips for $12.50. The cod was wonderful. Chips aren't bad either. Good value for a quick dinner before going home after the pools.
Had the pan fried pork dumplings with Worcestershire sauce as well, yum!
Compostable packaging used except the recyclable sauce container.
Gluten free options available.
This is the best one we have been compared to the other five we have tried in Hanmer Springs before.

P.Food was great, but the place was so busy and half the customers had numbered tickets for their food and the others didn't and it was abit confusing for some of them (not me but their was a bit of eye rolling by some of the others customers), also had a 3 people walk out who wanted ice cream but because it was so busy they didn't get served. But I really enjoyed the food.
S.The cooking was excellent. Was travelling with teenagers and they both LOVED the homemade chicken burger - so much they had it three times each during our stay! I had fish which was well cooked. The cook was pleasant and friendly chatting away while cooking for us. A pleasant and yummy experience.

We were totally blown away by the perfectly prepared food. Great chunky fries, the most delicious cheeseburgers, & undoubtedly the loveliest blue cod ever! The customer service was & is the best we've experienced in the South Island, just awesome Aotearoa friendliness in abundance. Love this place

We were thrilled to find a fish and chip shop that actually offered grilled fish instead of the usual battered and deep fried offering. The fish was delicious - it was wrapped in alfoil and baking paper and had been grilled with tomato and onion keeping it lovely and moist! Thank you for being open and Happy Easter!!
C.Great chips 10/10. I've only been there once, just using through, however I have to say the fish was rather ordinary (but it was "on special", so...). Also, it's Quite expensive compared to most other f&c places but it is touristy town. (Around $20 for 2 fish,1 scoop).
