Pleasantly surprised! I haven’t been for quite a long time. I used to visit when Colin owned the business and haven’t been back since. I was very pleased to see the current owner still makes his own chips, offers wet fish (and will cook it) and also separates the fish into a little tray. Great to see that the current owner hasn’t skimped on these things as it’s what makes Macs special.

This was our local when we lived a couple of clicks away. It seemed to change owners two or three times and the results weren't great two or three times. But today we decided to try again. Crumbed gurnard, crumbed tarakihi and chips. All very tasty and enjoyable. The only downside was a slight fatty after taste at the end.

Hi; I came in today 23rd July 2015 and spoke to you about Mac who'd owned the place which I was unaware he'd sold it 2yrs ago. My memory of Mac's was that crisp chips and fluffy fish. The order I got today which was 2 scoops and 4 fish was okay but not what Mac's used to be sorry. Quite sad especially paying $4.20 per fish.

(Translated) I visited three times while living here. Fresh and delicious. The fish is crispy type, just dressed in flour and fried. It's delicious to eat right away and crispy to take and eat. It was cheap for $ 4.5 so I ate it often. (Original) 여기 사는동안 3번이나 방문했어요. 신선하고 맛있어요. 피쉬를 크리스피 타입하고 그냥 밀가루옷입혀 평범하게 튀긴것하고 고르게 되어있어요. 바로먹기엔 그냥튀긴게 맛있고 가져가서 먹기엔 크리스피한게 더 바삭해요. 4.5불의 가격으로 저렴해서 자주먹었어요.
