Amazing quality of food, service and decor! The focaccia to start is a must-try and excellent value for money. We particularly enjoyed the gnocchi and gnocchetti mains, and our Argentinian friends were very pleased with the dulce du leche dessert.

Lovely service, simple but nice environment and more importantly, the pasta is amazing. I had the prawn one with chilli butter. Pasta itself got good texture which you can tell when you start chewing and the prawn was amazingly well seasoned. Will come back to explore more of the menu. Thanks for the service again guys!

Amazing meal, had the ideal seat at the kitchen bar table watching the preparation and cooking of said Italian Pasta meals. If i was to change one thing? Staff matching uniforms with the chef wearing white. Having said that Italian cooking is a passion and free spirited. We will return 🧑‍🍳

Hastings is on the up! This is such an authenic Italian feel. Focaccia is the best value item on the menu. Squid is just superb. Specials were both perfectly executed. Service was attentive and genuinely friendly. Maybe we just got lucky and picked all the best dishes, but could not fault a thing!

Delicious, only had a main and bread and was well fed. Quick service, our waitress was very helpful. A few dishes were able to be made vegan and vegetarian options too I had vege gnocchi ,yummy! Made our booking only 1 hour in advance. Price $28 for main and $3 for bread $10 for a drink x4 $164. I think desserts were $15 each.

The food was lovely and fresh and the service was top notch. There was an excellent vibe and everything was like a causal fine dining experience. I’m a big supporter of local business and the absolute mountain of effort it takes to get a business up and running especially with the recent hit from Covid19. So big ups to the owners and the amazing people in the service line of the restaurant. However, couple of things to mention. Firstly, the menu needs to be updated to reflect correct prices. $5 for a soda was $5.50 on the receipt. While the price definitely reflects the authenticity and service you will need to treat yourself to a starter, main and some sides to fill your belly up. Overall, it’s an amazing authentic way to treat yourself to some top notch pasta! The entire experience was pleasant and delicious. I’ve read a lot of good reviews from others who rave about this place so definitely try these guys out! :) Thanks for the great evening team!

First time here, busy place always a good sign. Didn't book in as spur if the moment decision to eat there. But after a short wait and a beer down the road we were seated. Great hostess wish we'd gotten her name. Food was great,service was great,atmosphere was great. Nice to have somewhere different with great food to go to in Hastings. Reccomend booking if you are wanting to go there. Come summer though extra seating outside. Pretty well priced as well- can't complain Will go again for sure

We went here last night and ordered 3 starters and 3 main meals and EVERYTHING was amazing. We had just under 4 people so we couldn't book a table, but a short chat to the manager gave us a good impression we could return at 7pm and the likeliness of us getting a table without booking was high! Glad we came back because we were situated outside and it was fantastic! THE GNOCCI IS THE BEST. The bocconcini was to DIE FOR, everything was delicious. 20/10 stars. Will be back for sure, even if we have to eat at the bar - need to get me some more of the gnocci!!!

We enjoyed our meal very much, the pasta dishes we ate were delicious....my special of the day, Spaghetti dish, was amazing. Desserts were an added bonus and the blue cheese with honey and homemade crackers is an added reason to go back. Great and attentive service. Be sure to book. A week night in Hastings is no guarantee that you will get a table. Thank you

The most amazing food experience I have ever had! Visiting Hastings from Kapiti for an exhibition opening and came across Sazio. I would drive back right now just to try some more of the divine food. Great atmosphere and with the best front of house Laura. You were a delight. 😊

Nice Italian restaurant in the centre of Hastings. Great atmosphere, casual dining. The menu is small but that's not an issue, the food is very very good. Pizza is not on the menu which some may find a little odd for an Italian but hay ho. Service is fine and it's not too expensive. Well worth a try.

Not a "bad" experience but it was the first and probably the last time. I got 5 tortellinis stuffed with kumara for 29 $. It was supposed to be a main course but I got the impression I have eaten a starter. Even if I haven't eaten a lot, I had an uncomfortable night. I imagine this was due to the foccacia which wasn't fully cooked. The manager should have had a bad day, she hasn't been able to hide her anxiety, so we felt pretty bad when it was about interacting with her. I can't say I would recommend or not the restaurant, maybe it was just a bad day, everything could be fine tomorrow! Just a little recommendation, if you plan to book, ask the person on the phone if there is a time you are supposed to leave. At 8pm we have been asked to leave because another group of people was waiting for the table, considering it was a birthday party this is not something we expected. We would have chosen another restaurant if we knew our time was limited. Considering we spent almost 1500 $ this night I believe that wasn't a very appropriate request but anyway...business is business.

Called in to buy a gift voucher. If you're after a birthday present, it's a good idea. I think you can spend as much as you like too as the vouchers are hand written and signed. In an envelope with a lovely SAZIO stamp on the front.

Can’t get enough of this place, the food is just so good. You can’t beat fresh hand made pasta and a great wine list. I’ve been several times as a table of two and a couple of times in larger groups, there is something on the menu for everyone but I think the dishes are best shared . Great value and definitely a great local.

I’m on a 2 weeks short job assignment and visited this pasta bar twice. The chocolate truffle, arracino is so good. Meanwhile, I love the creamy pasta with pork belly! So yum 😭😨 If I have the chance to visit Hastings again, definitely coming back 😘

Without a doubt the best single dish of food I have tasted in over two years in New Zealand. Everything good Italian food should be, authentic, robust, simple and just letting the flavours of quality ingredients shine. This restaurant is not be missed.
