The chef who cooked our meal was top shelf. Amazing food and was completely packed. Understandable when the chef cooks amazing meals. 11/10

Excellent service. We went for lunch around 11:30am. Even though they were hosting a major gathering we were put in a separate area so we weren't disturbed by the event. Our food and drinks were served in a timely Manner and to a high standard as always. Would definitely go there again. We went again a few months later and once again excellent service and the food was amazing. Even with the new covid restrictions the whole process was smooth and enjoyable.

Nice restaurant with impressive amount of veggie and vegan dishes. Able to get a table at short notice on Saturday night not sure that will be the same at level one in the summer. Out side seating with children's play area will make excellent place for late lunch in summer. Staff are friendly and helpful and not pushing for us to have desert or coffee. Menu changes regularly so worth going on the chance you will be able to get something different. I recommend it.

You guys are amazing as always. Definitely recommend. They're perfect from everything from a casual lunch to a glamorous wedding. Great for all ages including kids. Called in today for lunch. The restaurant was very busy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was excellent even with the wait. Food was devine. The curry dipping sauce with the chicken starter was to die for,👌👌👌 and the fish main was cooked to perfection. We will definitely return to Off The Track.

Really nice view through the big glass wall. The food are tasty, beef are medium rare with the pepper sauce, juicy and spicy taste. A litter bit too sweet for the date cake for me.

A great venue with friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere. There's a play area for children and on a recent warm summers day, sitting out on the patio with a drink and something to eat was a great way to spend an afternoon.

Great spot for a bite to eat and drink. Friendly staff are very welcoming and the food was great. Great spot with lots of room for all kinds of dining. Kids have plenty of room to run around as well as having a playground and trampoline. Great to meet up with friends or have a get together.

Staff were friendly and the venue has a nice touch and view of the strawberry fields. Food was a little hit and miss. Two seperate orders of lamb shanks. One was good the other dry. I would not recommend the veggie burger as tastes bland and had a paste like texture to it. There is a nice field and playground for the kids to play around.

Took mum out for a lunch, first time at off the track! Beautiful service, absolutely top notch...didn't have to wait too long...Beautiful view...and the food! Easy parking and nice views. Bit of discussion on where we were 'allowed' to sit initially which could have dampened the situation. I enjoyed my burger but not all members of the party enjoyed their breakfast. Some comments 'hollandaise overpowered it and made it soggy' 'they should not serve commercially prepared hashbrowns' 'the potato waffle was floury as opposed to potatoey'. The coffee was very good- hot, had body, and tasty.

Really friendly staff, excellent food - possibly the best big breakfast in New Zealand, and a huge outdoor area for the kids to run around and play on. Highly recommended.

Great place for kids to run around while the adults talk. Beautiful views which get better as the sun goes down. The staff were all very happy and able to have a good laugh. The menu has been redone and a few favourites are no longer on it but it's still a great menu and great value for money. Kids meals were only $11. And the kids ate everything on the plate. Awesome place. Will visit Gain soon.

I've visited this place before many times and usually been disappointed. This time, however, was very different. The menu was smaller but more reliable. The food was delicious. I had a Reuben which is only the second time I've ever seen one in NZ, and it tastes great. The service was also top notch. We almost left a tip.

Always had exceptional customer service here, the staff just know how to engage and be convivial, even when they are obviously under pressure. One can always tell when a business is well managed. So Compliments to the owners and management team. From 'Maitre D' and Bar staff, to waiting staff, you deserve a supreme pat on the back. I would have given 5 stars but we called ahead to make sure they could fit us in and we were treated pretty rudely by a bloke that was clearly over whelmed. I know it was busy and people are tired but by us showing courtesy I believe we copped it. Certainly wouldn't go back peak season but off peak, probably would.

Delicious food with a stunning view. Customer service can be better for instance, when bringing the cutlery, place the cutlery for every customer and not putting everything together at one spot and expecting customers to do it themselves. Will keep going back but if the service improves.

We came around because we thought we saw someone say something about a vegan menu but we didn't see any vegan menu. They do have a couple of vegan options but I think for dinner they mostly do reservations. Overall lovely helpful staff. I forgot what we had but it was vegan and delicious.

Had lunch on a Sunday with the family. The restaurant had quite a lot of patrons when we arrived around 1.30pm (good sign), service was quick and friendly. We had steaks which were delicious. For the kids there was a playground in the back. Recommended!

Good place for kids and let's the parents take the time to enjoy delicious food. The Chefs know what they're about and the owners have discerning taste in wine. And last but not least a lovely attentive front of house. Great all around :) Unfortunately maybe a bit too pricey for regular outings or a quick pitstop for tourists. But the meals are certainly worth every bite.

In a very convenient spot on the Hastings to Havelock road, there's lots of room and the big plus is a playground and large grassy area for the kids to play. This restaurant has a LOT of tables, we had about an hour wait for our food so the kids were getting mighty hungry and cranky by then. I'd advise asking how long the wait time is likely to be. The food itself was very nice though.

We took some family from America to Off the Track for dinner. They thought the food & the service were wonderful, as did I. Very happy to accommodate me when my son wanted extra carrots with his kids meal. Always love coming here, always a great experience. The staff are awesome, the food is really tasty & beautifully presented. They have a really good kids menu here as well. Highly recommend anyone & everyone to come to Off the Track.

The cheesy garlic pizza was all cheese. No garlic taste or smell. Chicken and mushroom fettuccine was creamy but lacked flavour. Had to wait nearly 45- mins to order our meal and another 45-mins for meal to be served. Considering the cost to dine, this was highly disappointing and I probably wont return.

Spectacular restaurant with an amazing selection of foods to suite a wide variety of tastes. I was surprised and lucky to get a late booking for a table of 8 and every person on the table was able to find something they wanted on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our waiter was Bruce, who had an entertaining banter about him and clicked with our group immediately. The recommendations were spot on and he made the night enjoyable. I look forward to my next visit to Off The Track

Have been here now many many times with many different social groups. From a drinks with friends To coffee dates with friends To lunch with the family To work dues And every time Every single thing has been absolutely amazing! The service is top notch The food is incredible! A great list of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The staff are bloody lovely and are always happy to help in any way they can!! It’s great for families as there is a huge play set and trampoline out the back where parents can sit and enjoy the marvellous view of te mata peak whilst their kids run wild :)

It was a great place all round, and especially good for taking children to as there is a nice big lawn and outside play equipment. They have a good menu for children also. This Lofty venue with country view is between Havelock North and Hastings. Really good food and table service. Menu has a varied selection and when children are finished eating they play in the garden. Medium to high prices and well worth it.

Couldn't finish our meals so asked to take the rest take away - other waiter took the food and threw it out so bit of a waste of food/money. Staff were friendly but probably a bit understaffed considering the rushed feel despite the restaurant not being that full.

We go to Off the Track as its the only real family friendly place around our area, but I must say the food is very average, have been there lots and hardly ever come away satisfied. Menu too big so can't do everything well. Shame really as its so expensive! But it's the only option when we have to take the kids dining. Love the family friendly atmosphere, and have always found the service really good but the food leaves a lot to be desired.

I got dragged along here for a family lunch. Now, I don't understand going out for lunch so maybe that's why I don't understand this place, but it's not my jam. It has a very modern feel, but not in a good way. It's a mix between what hipsters like and what old people who want to feel young like, and neither of those are things that I like. It's a trend we see more and more popping up for restaurants, and obviously there are people out there who do like it. But again, not my jam. The staff was very friendly, the food was great, and the place very clean and hygienic. If you like this type of new age stuff then this is your place.

We have been a number of times to OTT for lunch; this time was our first dinner at OTT, and I was less than impressed. It seemed quite expensive for the quality of food we received - I feel the meal was1/3 more expensive than it should have been. The food was not awful, but just wasn't worth what we paid, so I would be reluctant to return for dinner.

The five stars are for the staff who worked extremely hard and kept smiles on their faces during a very busy period. Minus four stars for the overall experience. The food did not live up to the previous experiences we have here and I was embarrased about having recommended we go here. Organisational management could be improved if the bar staff weren't making coffees, 25 mins waiting for a glass of wine seemed excessive.
