Dog friendly must be on a leash outside. Table's outside were very busy. Walked around the town and came back around the hr, finding a free table outside . The beers were lovely and cold . We ordered a plate of pork ribs salid and chips . The ribs were cooked to perfection . Staff friendly and helpful .

Relaxing, outdoor seating, loved the vegetarian platter and the pork belly. Food well priced for what you get. Quality pub food. Kids loved their platter and were full unlike a lot of other places we go to. I don't normally take the trouble to rate places but I have to thoroughly recommend this place.

Good busy place for meals My colleague took me to this place for lunch between our business appointments. The choice for vegetarian was limited but what I was served was sumptuous and tasty. The service was good and prompt. I saw that the place was quite busy even during evenings, which is always a good sign.

Stayed for 1 night great size room super king bed great price. Irish lady at reception was very friendly and help full. The young gentleman and 2 young ladies on the restaurant floor were 5☆ service and the food was 100% bang on, lamb rump and pork belly 1 meal could of feed both of us. We definitely know we're to go now when visiting Hokitika ☆☆☆☆☆

Very nice food. Large servings leaning towards the more expensive end but very much worth it. The service was great and very attentive. A pool table topped off the experience in the bar part of the establishment. Pictured are the garlic loaf, pork belly and rib eye steak with green pepper sauce. 😍

Easy 5/5 for this gem in the middle of Hokitika - very friendly staff, great atmosphere and excellent menu. We had a couple of reservations about our dinner (not enough to complain about) and the staff were absolutely determined to solve it and ensure we left happy. Good honest hospitality at its best.

Super busy - getting a table and food took a while cause there was a big group ahead of us. Food - large portions and pretty tasty. Seafood chowder expensive but full of seafood. Fisherman's catch - skip. Not great. Beef nachos - yum! Lamb shanks - perfectly cooked. Daily pasta - 👍🏻

Fantastic! Huge portions and very reasonable prices. Delicious vegetarian/ vegan options. Would highly recommend the Vegetarian nachos and pasta. Bread and dips board came with fresh warm bread and various dips - yum!

Good selection of food and drink which has always been nice here. Can get very busy at any time of day. Good range of seating options from high bar tables, sofas and dining tables too. Usually open during times when other cafes and eateries are closed. Friendly staff.

Like other reviewers have said, it's a bit on the expensive side, but I'm happy that they had open seating for us before the sun set. I really enjoyed the seafood platter (see photo). The venison was decent but it was advertised on the menu as being medium rare. All four cutlets came out well done (barely pink).

Very Nice food, had Nachos With beef, garlic loaf for about 30$ and it tasted pretty damn good, you get a very filling amount of food aswell which is a plus and the cheese cake for desert was quite nice. Overall a pretty good place to eat out with friends or family.

A nice, classic pub restaurant. We had the vegetarian nachos (the other vegetarian option was the ‘special’ which one that night was a vegetarian Wellington), the pork ribs and the cheesecake. All three dishes were tasty. There were a lot of waitstaff on and all were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant has a cozy fireplace and a slight separation between the pub area and restaurant area.

Our favorite meal yet! Went on a busy Friday night and it was worth the wait. We had the lamb wontons and seafood platter. Other than the seafood dipping sauce it was all very tasty. Nahuia, our server was great! She was attentive and genuine, and this opinion is coming from an American!

Had a meal there last night in the bar area and it was absolutely fantastic! The waitress was friendly, helpful and was really well organised. We stayed for desert and a few drinks which was just as good then after we finished they called us a taxi but the taxi didn’t come so the owner arranged a ride home for us. After lockdown thought would get out and support those businesses hit by the virus. Have been here many times both on business/personal and can thoroughly recommend the food and atmosphere. However this time was very disapointed with the staff. Not just one member but all of them. You get the impression that they wanted to be somewhere else. Very popular eating n drinking venue. We walked in to find all the tables occupied or reserved - Easter Saturday. Near the window is a ledge with bar stools which we took and asked if we could dine there. No problem and the waitress agreed to come and take our order. It was busy and so we had a delay awaiting our food order to be taken, but after that all was fine. I enjoyed the T-bone steak and my wife the stuffed chicken dish - both were excellent. Based on our walk around the town this is probably the most popular place in town and we can understand why. ENJOY

Always stay in Hokitika when we visit the South Island on at least 5 trips to NZ since 2005 and have eaten at Stumpers on a couple of visits in 2017 and 2018. Not necessarily the cheapest restaurant in town but the food is very good with fairly generous portions and friendly staff on our visits. Had a 3 course and a couple of beers from the good selection and waddled out to our accommodation very full and satisfied. Will need to try their accommodation on our next visit to have a shorter walk to our beds after filling up on the food and drink.

Solid place to watch some sports and have a drink. The fisherman's catch was just a bunch of seafood fried with a thick coating. The fries were the best part. Food wasn't out of this world but big portion sizes which was great because the fisherman's catch ended up feeding 2 people. Smoothies we're the best part of our order. You can play pool and some other games in the arcade.

Great local pub This popular local pub serves good gastro pub style meals and there is something on the menu for everyone. Our lamb shanks were excellent and melt in your mouth tender, the slow cooked belly pork was very tasty but a little bit dry. The sides of potatoes and vegetables were delicious and the portions generous. We were staying at the Stumpers Hotel and it was great to be able to walk next door for dinner - given the unpredictable West Coast weather.

Plenty of locals patronising this cafe during the day for their coffees and lunch for their bar/cafe meals. The latte that I had was good; the froth was balanced and not burnt. The milk was enough that it didn't overpowered my coffee. Street parking 🅿 only. They accept cash and EFTPOS (debit and credit card payments). Friendly staff. Would I go back🔙? Yes. Drinks: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. I like my latte and would try other beverages on their list. Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Suitable for all ages. Price: ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Reasonable pricing.

Really great food and excellent service. It's a bit on the expensive side, but Hokitika is a tourist town. The restaurant is really close to the beach. It serves food late into the evening, which is great if you're arriving at night.
