Great value for money. Lovely meal of Snapper and salad for me and steak, salad and chips for the fella. Both generous sizing, and beautifully cooked. Ate in, as the place was empty. Basic and well used decor but that aside, a really nice experience.

Been there several times, fish is nicely cooked. I like mine battered. The batter is almost a tempura style, not heavy and doughy. Awesome people who run this business. Really reasonable servings and the chips are properly cooked.

Holy moly where else can you get two massive pieces of fish, enough chips to feed 2 people AND a sausage and 2 crabsticks, all for $8??!! Well you can here, and they have all sorts of special combos to choose from. Really the hero is that Irreesha really knows how to treat a piece of piece of fish - freshly dipped in the lightest batter I've ever put in my mouth and cooked to absolute perfection. The chips were cooked just right and perfect amount of salt. And we didn't even need our serviettes as the fish was not greasy at all. Another winner is she makes possibly the best raw fish in the North Island with the perfect amount of ingredients, decent chunks of fish and just enough coconut cream so it wasn't swimming in it. I'm often disappointed in shop bought raw fish as it can be taste too sweet or the fish is teeny bits or worse the wrong fish to use but not here. So if you love raw fish it's worth driving 100km to get it. We don't live in Huntly but regularly trip from Auckland to Hamilton or Taumarunui and plan to make this a regular pit stop. I think we may have to never visit another fish n chip shop as Irreesha has raised the bar too high - this was our first visit but will absolutely not be our last!
