D.The food is awesome, well priced and the chips are the old style that I remember from when I was a kid. They don't use the horrible bought in frozen chips which is super rare these days. Both the fish and chips menu and the Chinese meal menu are both so delicious and value for money. The staff have some great cooking skills. The shop is small and old but look past that and experience some great food. I have loved this shop for years

The food quality has never blown me away but the portion size and price is unbeatable. The owners are friendly and you won't usually be waiting too long.

J.Tourist review - plenty of parking around shop. Clean and tidy inside. Vast array of both fried fare and Chinese dishes. I was surprised at the price for a scoop of chips. Far cheaper than available in Christchurch. I enjoyed my meal purchased from here. No complaints.

T.The Albatross Takeaways are a 5 minute walk from the Southern Institute of Technology. They provide fish and chips and other meals such as burgers, oysters (when in season), and Chinese meals.
The staff have limited English, but are friendly and speak Cantonese and Mandarin. EFTPOS is available, but they do not give cash out. The store opens at 12 pm, lunch time, and closes at around 10pm.
The Albatross fish and chip shop is great value! I challenge anyone to try and eat $5 worth of chips. It is impossible!
