Really enjoyed the food. Lovely kick to hit. Fresh produce. Absolutely could fault the food and service. Unfortunately the machine that makes the frozen margaritas wasnt working well so we ended up with Luke warm margaritas that weren't pleasant . And the place was actually kinda dirty we had to wipe our seats the had sauce on one and food on another and there was dead bugs along the ledges by the big windows which was pretty grotty ..... But that shouldn't stop you from trying there food fantastic menu and I still rate it 4 star

Just riding around on the bike and came upon this little cutie. Been a few years since we had a margarita and we thought why not . Then ordered a crispy Calamari and a chicken wings with rattle snake sauce . Washed down with a cold beer. The service was extremely quick and staff were very pleasant and helpful. This particular store has only been open for 1yr . There's 3 others in the South Island . The standard mandate applies for the covid rules. Plenty of seating available out the front . QR code on every table , so if you forget when entering or sitting outside you can scan while waiting for service ..

We walked past looking for somewhere for dinner and went in and so happy we did! Staff were lovely, food was quick and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Very reasonable priced also!

Before dining at Amigos today, I read many reviews about it that were all great and it got me thinking as to why they were all great and no bad ones at all as we are all human and do make mistakes every now and then. So, today I got my answer. There are so many great reviews because it is great! From the moment we arrived at the door we felt looked after and welcomed by the staff and the smells coming from the open kitchen were fantastico! The atmosphere was fun, vibrant and ecelctic and the volume of music just right. The menu is extensive with all meat options as well as plenty of vegetarian ones too. Serving sizes are very generous and the combinations of flavours exciting. Everything tasted great and the tortilla chips they make are very more-ish! I give an A+ for food and flavour. The service was very good too with friendly, accommodating staff and only a short wait between ordering and receiving our meals. Best virgin mojito I've ever had! As a first time introduction to the world of Mexican food (beyond El Paso tacos off the supermarket shelf) for myself and my friend, we couldn't be more impressed and we are already discussing future visits with our friends and families. Side notes • Taco Tuesdays only $5 each! • Colouring activities for kids • Sombreros for everyone!

What a treat, food very very good, staff six stars. We popped in on the spur of the moment no booking. Staff super helpful and took the time to go over menu. Will be back and recommend others to give it a go 👌

Had a mixed experience about their staffs. Some were friendly while some others were really rude. Tasty food. Portion could be more generous though. I found a dry odd looking garnish with the drink and they don't seemed to be bothered when I asked about it.

Great vibe, really good range of options on the menu. And some deliciously interesting taco creations. I had the brisket taco, sweet potato taco, beans, mex salad, and margarita. I went back for dinner the same day.

Only reason why I removed stars is I tried to charge back to my hotel room because reception lady gave me a list of restaurants. I love Mexican foods. when the restaurant lady said we have never done charge back to my hotel then I said I pay myself. I asked reception again when I went back my hotel. They were surprised and said other guests have done couple of times before me. Now I am thinking why they refused my request... Also they tried to removed my dishes before I finish it. I felt they wanted me to leave fast. When I ordered second beer I watched them minutes because they did not care. Food was good but I would not come back here again.

A nice idea, executed with mixed success. The food is quite greasy and 'westernised'; think less of a cantina style eatery and more of a Taco Bell. The portions for the mains are decently large, the tacos come as individual servings and are quite small. The entrees are fairly run of the mill in terms of size. The food quality was decidedly average, neither particularly remarkable nor overly unappealing; inoffensive, if somewhat tasteless. Overall, all I can say is that it's fine. I probably wouldn't go again of my own volition but wouldn't have an issue if friends wanted to eat here.

Decor was a 'rough and ready' cantina with open shelves of cans and bottles.The tapas for 2 was served on a board with very small bowls of sauces. We left hungry. Other diners appeared to order a number of mains

Lovely food and surroundings. Friendly efficient staff. Only negative was the big sliding doors opening everytime a customer came and staying open as they stood in the doorway. It was a very cold wet night and out table got the full blast.

One of the BEST night we have had out!! The moment we walked in the staff greeted you with a welcoming smile! The lovely lady who served us was exceptionally good with our 5yr old daughter who was taken by her. We were seated and drink orders taken! Meals came out in great time and they were amazing!!! I'm telling anyone who hasn't been here to get there and try it you won't be disappointed!!!

Delicious food and loved the cocktails. Hopefully Amigos expands their business, people were lining up outside! One recommendation I have is that they ought to take waiting patrons to the bar for a drink while they wait for a table. Keeps people out of the cold, stops the door being open making sitting patrons cold and good service providing a brew (and money for business too).

So stoked Amigo’s has made its way down to us in the Deep South. I love Mexican, it is one of my top two favourite foods worldwide. Dinner was amazing, absolutely delicious and my passionfruit cocktail was really good. We will definitely be back again!

Let's start with food. So Yum. I got the nachos, the chip to inners ratio was askew in the chips favour, but the inners was super delicious. I'm a man that loves my sour cream and I didn't find that I needed it with this dish. Amazing flavours, and the home made sources are spectacular especially the green one. Chili lemonade was nice, wish I could of tried their marg (driving). Super friendly and passionate people. Would love to have this place in my local town.

Come for the food, stay for the great atmosphere and price. Even though I'm writing this review on Taco Tuesday ($5 soft tacos), I would gladly pay the full price for them. They're really good, and I would highly recommend them, as well as the other menu items.

Recommendation for frozen margarita lovers: swap the regular tequila for habanero infused. It's delicious! Loved the variety of vegetarian tacos. Jackfruit taco wins top marks in my book, the flavor is fantastic and the crunch of the onion ring really brings it home. Ready to come back in a week and keep eating our way through the menu!

Great two see Invercargill getting good authentic restaurants, I give this a big 👍 definitely try ,I didn't try alot on the menu soft shell pork belly tacco , chicken tacco and chirros .Well packed with flavour and true to Mexican cooking ,many restaurants in town try to westernize there menu but those days are gone people want authentic and flavor. We will definitely be back great atmosphere and wonderful service 😀

Absolutely delicious. The service is quick and there is a lot of variety on the menu. I had 3 soft shell tacos: Cerdo y Piña (Pork and Pineapple, image attached), Jaca y Cebolla (Jackfruit and Onion Rings) and Carne Asada (Chargrilled Steak). While the steak was slightly overcooked for my liking, the rest of the meal was delicious. The theming was cool to see as well: no two chairs/tables are the same. Also attached is two images of the bathroom, where the theming continues. The prices are also reasonable considering how filling they are. ¡Muchas gracias por la comida Amigos!

Had an excellent late lunch here. We had Costillas (pork ribs and amazing kumera wedges) and Parrilla Mixta (mixed dish of different meats with a salad). My latino fiance approved of the food so that says a lot. Will definitely be back. Only thing that could be improved is actually having latino / spanish speakers working there. At an Indian or Chinese restaurant you see indian and Chinese working there. It helps the overall atmosphere. We were told no one aside from the owners could speak Spanish. Maybe they can do something in the future about that. So a solid 4 out of 5.
