Best Indian in town from my opinion! Vege samosa are so good! Chickpea curry is to die for , not watery at all, thick and taste perfect heaps of flavor ! Nothing to complain about always a good dinner. You won’t be dissapointed !

Just happened to pass by this beautiful town in South NZ and came across Bombay Palace. We were not very hungry and were in a hurry so just ordered Paranthas (Aloo, Paneer) with yougurt and tea.. Paranthas were stuffed heavily and one was enough for a person. We left half parantha as my kiddo could only eat half. They have a separate area for takeaways.. Ambience 5* Food 5* Washrooms 5*

Best Indian restaurant in town friendly warm and welcoming, lovely and clean and the food is so packed with flavour it leaves you wanting more .I most definitely recommend Bombay Palace and I also may add there takeaway service is exceptional the food is always hot and on time ❤❤😀

what a awesome experience ☺ I don't normally give reviews Except this time I just have to say how good the food was in fact it's the best Indian food I've had in fact it was so good that we went back the next night and ordered a Tandoori chicken and a smoking cheese and garlic naan same as the night before holy cow it was fantastic even the Mango lassie mmmmmm was beautiful with a lovely artistic design on the top, the beautiful waitresses looked after us awesomely I was so stoked with the food I asked to thank the 3 chefs they graciously said thanku The Bombay Palace was a great experience and what a find in good old Invercargill heck I hope I get to do more work soon back in Invercargill as I'd go every night it was that good 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

this is one of the best Indian restaurants in the South island. great flavours great ambience and above average table service. our waitress provided above average service with attention to detail . by observation I believe the other waitress also provided above average service. a very professional friendly experience. a must visit if you like authentic Indian food.

It was really good and enough for three people! I had a chicken masala, a regular naan and a cheesy garlic naan! If you like butter just go ahead for those naan breads!!

A good Indian experience but curries lack the heat I was expecting. Gulab Jamun was a great finish off to the meal. A really good way to serve Gulab Jamun is with vanilla ice-cream, the are great together and worth trying on your menu.

Fantastic Indian food. We got matar paneer, kadhai vegetable, saag aloo, a kachumber salad, chilli/cheese/garlic naan and a regular garlic naan. The matar paneer, kadhai vegetable and saag aloo were as good as I have had anywhere. The kachumber salad was a good portion and chock full of veggies but didn't have much flavor. The chilli naan uses spicy green chillies! If you are adverse to spice, be careful with this one - it's delicious but HOT! We will be back and can't wait to keep sampling all of the delicious food on the Bombay Palace menu!

We arrived only 20 mins before closing but staff was very accommodating and did treat us very well, and even let us sit to finish our food while they closed the place, chef also came out and had a good chat with us and told us about the history of the place. The main dishes were fine but the deserts were very good especially Carrots Halwa. Their tandoori bread was also good make sure to tell them if you want it doughy or crispy.

Outstanding food - easily some of the best Indian we've ever had, not just in New Zealand but anywhere. The service was excellent and the price very reasonable. I liked the samosas and my spinach/paneer dish and my husband has been raving about the lamb korma and kheema naan - I'm sure he would go back there tomorrow (and the next day) if we were staying in town.

We ate hear on a public holiday and it was full of locals which is always a good sign. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was really good, the curry is up there with some of the best I've tasted and you have the option to choose how spicy you want your dishes. Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting invercargill.

My family and I come here when we want a curry, they cater to vegetarians and vegans iswell! They have many delicious currys to offer. For some the indian hot spice rating isnt spicy enough. I have started from mild to now having hot spice in my curry. You can tell when the currys freshly made... butter chicken lover...chicken tikka ... murgh bombay tikka (tandoori chicken) onion bhaji and garlic nan!! Mango chicken ...chana masala...

Bought our families first takeaways since lock-down, Thu, 30 Apr. Two butter chickens and naan, normally I'd get something else, but butter chicken it was. Unfortunately the flavour was not there, may be watered down as it was watery and flavourless. Not what normally is served.

Have went to eat in Auckland to Napier, Alexandra to Dunedin. Yet never had authentic taste of Indian food as closely matched by Bombay palace. Saying this because I'm from India, and have eaten in almost every city offering punjabi cuisine. Great place to go with friends and family and kids.

This was one of the best Indian meals I've had. Having just come off 3days tramping on Stewart island, I was ready to eat a horse. But I was defeated and sent into a food coma by a entree of deep fried vegetables, a main on cottage cheese curry and garlic naan. This is the place to go for a great feed.

The Bombay is well established as lnvercargills best lndian diner with private function rooms and a take away outlet attached. The surroundings are pleasant and with an authentic feel in a Kiwi kind of way.

Hoping to dine in soon hoping the restaurant is just as good. Parking available on st also behind the neigh ouring building though between 7-10pm wed fri and sat carpark is busy.

When my partner and i went in it was really busy, soon as we saw that we assumed service would be slow. We were wrong! Waiters were super fast & friendly. Our food came out within 10mins of waiting, plus the food was amazing! Well worth it & deffinitly reccomend to anyone. Thanks bombay 😁

I am a Chef. This is the BEST Indian Cuisine I have ever tasted. We had Butter Chicken & Afghani Chicken from the Menu. Fluffy Basmati Rice; Garlic Naan Bread and Mango Lassi. Tell you A M A Z I N G!!! Medium heat just perfect. Service was great. I went there at the end of my holiday, wish I went at the beginning would have become a regular. Thank you Bombay Palace - GREAT service as well!!! Waitresses so polite and obliging. I'LL BE BACK!!!

I've traveled through India many times over the last 35 years. Every time I dine at this superb restaurant, it takes me back to India. The Bombay is the best Indian restaurant in Invercargill in my opinion. Just try the Kadhai chicken, simply superb, and for a little decadence, the chocolate naan. And I must mention the service, humble, gracious and professional.

If you thought you can't get really great Indian food in Invercargill, you are happily quite wrong. We had excellent, tasty curries and dhal, and propper naan beads. The yellow dhal and chicken Afgani were particularly yummy. $15 early bird was a nice surprise and made the meal great value. Highly recommended.

Great service and delicious meal and the staff went out of their way to accommodate the small children in our group. The children were very noisy but staff headed them out to the fish tank and kept an eye on them .
