I will not go to places that discriminate on the basis of people's health choices.
Pity. But that's the way it is in 2021 under a traffic light system.
Wasn't like that last week.
T.Not only my favourite Chinese restaurant but its up there as one of the best in Invercargill. Invercargill is not known for its amazing chinese food (better in bigger cities). I have a few delicious favourites, hot and sour soup, fried wontons (or wonton soup), combination fried rice, blue cod with lemon honey sauce and oysters when in season. The staff are delightful and attentive. Best value is the banquet menus starting at $28.00 per head.

W. J.Excellent dine in experience with great dishes, always a friendly reception from the host. In a group the choices of dishes makes a very taste satisfying experience. Good fish & chip takeaways and very pleasant takeaway Chinese dishes, my favourite Ginger Pork or Chinese Steak.

J. C.Absolutely recommended, they have a really savoury pork fried rice, although you should check your order twice as once in a while the person taking your order may not be too fluent in English. I got shrimp fried rice instead of pork so be sure to double check. Other than that it's definitely worth it, you get your money's worth for their takeaways
G.Great Chinese restaurant both for eating and take away food. We ordered Sweet and Sour Pork plus Prawn Chow Mein plus some fried rice and there was enough food to last us 2 nights as we were staying in a motel and the total cost was only 32 dollars. The food was really good and we both enjoyed it very much. So if you are in Invercargill and fancy a Chinese meal then the Ocean Chinese Restaurant will not let you down.

L. F.I like this Chinese food. Most of the Chinese takeaways in Invercargill are owned by the same family so they all taste the same. Ocean seafood is the best one in Invercargill in my honest opinion. We go here often. One tip is when ordering over $50 ask for your free wontons or fried rice. They normally do not tell you about it but there is a sign in the takeaway lobby.
