J.Amazing dining experience by far. The food we order exceeded our expectations. We love. All of the food on the table and with the price we paid it's all worth it. Having outdoor play area for an active toddler like our son is a plus for a fine dining like the cabbage tree. It gives the family time to go out and dine in a fancy restaurant without worrying of having kids with them. Our boy enjoyed the art material that was give to him too so it's another plus👍Great place, and customer service ⭐
P.Food was great, but there was very little service. We were are large party but no drinks waiter, we had to keep going inside to get our drinks, we had to go in to ask for more water for the table and it was a bit of a wait so we didn't have time for the desert menu or coffee.
j.Found the waiter not very good at his job , didn't receive all of my order, one dish was asked for mushrooms on the side which didn't happen so the order had to be sent back to the kitchen to be redone, long wait for drinks , wasn't very pleasant or professional at all. I believe this waiter will need more training with customer care.
T.Perfect place to bring kids! Exceptional service from all staff - didnt mind fussy eaters and food exceeded expectations especially the ribs and the fries. Excellent bar tender and such a great menu range.
V.Large restaurant with plenty of fire places and different areas to sit.

Excellent service beers ice cold we had the panfried onion rings as I'm severely allergic to fish and most places fry everything in the same oil.
Staff was fantastic in understanding our needs 10/10 for hospitality and service. A must stop for a great feed.

The dishes arrive well presented along with ample food per portion.
Dining staff are attentive but not intrusive.

D.Amazing! Loved it! I had the salmon eggs Benedict and I was surprised that it came with a whole salmon steak! I was very happy, beautifully cooked, hollandaise sauce was on point! Eggs were beautiful! My husband had the ribs full rack which was Amazing! And the chips were nice and crisp. We ordered more for dinner later that day. Very very impressed and would definitely come here again when I'm back in town. Casey and the staff you guys are awesome!

M.Great place to stop for a bite to eat or a drink, kiddy lock on the gate and toys at the front door for the kids, the menu is full of choices, ice cream and sweet treats available alongside a coffee, great history re Burt. Venue to hire. Camping ground next door

P.Looking forward to evening dinner in the garden bar on a beautiful Invercargill evening. Unfortunately the experience was just average.
Ushered to our table, given a jug of water and no glasses. Then drinks order taken and only 1 drink delivered and after 25 minutes had to ask for other.
Entrées arrived and not cutlery. Had to get our own cutlery, napkins and salt and pepper from elsewhere. Ordered Seafood Chodwer and only luke warm and had a skin on the top.
Mains were delivered and 2nd round of drinks ordered. Were half thru meals and had to go to bar to get own drinks. At least mains were to satisfaction.
On leaving apologies from staff and discounts on bill.
Not up to usual standard I expect from The Cabbage Tree Restaurant. Staff were courteous and friendly. Large crowd in adjacent Hall so could have extended staff limits????

An as a mum i was so over the moon that you had a child area my 2, 4, 11, 14 and 16 year old were entertained an i got to eat a hot juicy steak... with out it going cold from running after a child. ..

C.We had a beautiful night at the cabbage tree last night to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. We paid a little extra to have our own private room (the sandpit). The room was lovely and the service was great. We were able to decorate to our own theme and close ourselves off from other diners which created a special atmosphere. We had a group of 15 and every single meal was perfect. Would highly recommend if you have a special occasion. Top marks to the team at the Cabbage Tree! Thank you so much

D.Meal sizes are huge. We ordered onion rings as a side and it was massive. Huge menu as well. They have a shuttle service we weren't aware of but that's great.
