Not as big a selection of beers as I thought it would have. Service was good. We decided to go with street food and share a few plates. Ordered the calamari. Cooked well. Shame it was too salty but staff were happy to re-do it for me. Oysters were good if a little small. Bao bun fillings were great. Shame the buns themselves were not light and fluffy. The popcorn cauliflower wasn't great. Everything we ordered came with some form of mayo. Think they need to be a bit more creative with their dipping sauce.

2nd time going there. Love it because you can sit outside and dogs are welcome. Staff great Big menu with wide variety of food. Great range of drinks as well. We now live on Kaiapoi and we will be back.

Well what can I say. 😀 I have always for the past five years since returning to Nz had exceptional service, menu flexible which allows for everyone to have a great experience plus they always go out of there way to ensure every visit is not only welcoming but enjoyable - without hesitation I recommend this business. Good place to enjoy some nice sea food and burgers. The staff is really friendly and the kids will be looking for the cookie monster hanging around. The fish and chips could be less oily but everything else is presented nicely with a lovely smile.

Open steak was good, service was the best I've had in ages but the dessert was the chocolate fondue was amazing just a pity I struggled with keeping the banana on the fork. Will be back for another meal at some stage but the staff -if I was their boss be very proud as the represent your business so well. Worth the visit.

An incredibly positive experience, greeted as soon as you walk in by a number of courteous staff (and often the owner himself), with delicious food and a fine selection of drinks to please anyone. Hamish often comes over for a chat and is the most respectful, pleasant man I have known an owner to be. You leave feeling like your business was appreciated, not just another number. Can't recommend this place enough, one satisfied repeat customer here. :)

Excellent food and service from friendly staff. Booking a table is the best ideas as it is usually busy. There are daily specials all week here and the most popular stone grills are included in them. Our waitress was very helpful and introduced herself at the start. Our food arrived pretty quickly and the stone grill steak was delicious. The garlic bread 3 words hot, crisp and tasty! We didn't have room for dessert even with them looking so tempting as the went past to other tables. With having stone grills we got a voucher for free dessert next time we go so will definitely be back and not just for the freebie. They do cocktails here and mocktails also. Beer and wine and soft drinks.

Great customer service, we had pork belly and chicken popper entrees which were great. Main was disappointing though. Had the karrage burger. Had no flavour and we got normalchips after asking for curly fries.

Average curly fries, average bao buns (two tiny squares of tofu!), average salad with limp lettuce. The cauliflower bites were decent, and the skillet cookie looked delicious. Apparently the ribeye steaks were good!

Food was good, and waitress that was looking after our table was super lovely. Waitress at register also really nice. Place does get very Smokey with the stone grill so we had another waitress come and open window wide open behind our table to air place out, only problem was it was absolutely freezing and our table was eating dessert, was for smoke at different table do was disappointed she didn't open doors next to those tables. Which another waitress did when we mostly closed other window as so cold- not sure if they need better ventilating system. Also water bottles need good clean out - bit gross if you look carefully. Fix those things up and place be perfect for family dinner.

Fantastic Open Ale house with a wide selection of local ciders and ales that rotate regularly. Modern and comfortable decor will invite you to sample of the food on the menu which is all yummy. Only downside is that the bar seems to be understaffed and 5 minute wait to be server on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon is not uncommon

Have been quite a few times, sometimes for a beer, others for a family meal or staff dinner. Always great service, reasonable priced food and beverages. The staff always the highlight as you get greeted and farewelled which compliments the food and beverage. Great atmosphere as well.

Have been here several times before but this management is by far the best. The place was packed and food was flowing from the kitchen. The quality of the food is excellent tasted amazing. I felt the food was a little overpriced but was still very happy with what we got. Good selection of craft beers too. Definitely recommended.

We went out for dinner with relatives we haven't seen for a while, so we wanted somewhere special. A neighbour recommended CBK, so we gave it a try. We were welcomed very nicely, by a lovely young woman and were seated in a quiet, private booth. The decor was very restful and pleasant. There is a good bar and the menu is well presented, with kids menu and a variety of adult items. I ordered deluxe fish and chips, which came with scallops and calamari. Beautifully cooked and delicious. The others ordered stone grills of lamb and pork. Their food was great and they had fun cooking their meat on a hot stone. Sides were also very good and quite delicious. My brother in laws steak was great too. We shared a lovely bottle of sauvignon blanc and once the waiter was sure we were happy, were left then to enjoy our meal and a lot of talk. We didn't have to contend with interruption to our party from waiters all the time. Our waitress was lovely, with a warm welcoming manner and a delightful smile. We had a lovely night out. Thanks guys. If you're in Kaiapoi or passing through, this place is well worth stopping for!

First time here and the welcome was excellent. The range of food available is very good and ranges from finger food, sharing plates, and full meals. The pork and prawn noodles I had was very tasty and was a generous serving. Excellent beer and cider selection on tap as well as being well stocked behind the bar. The staff were so friendly and attentive. I’m heading back tonight!

Absolutely wonderful lunch! Arrived to a warm and cozy place, two open fires stoked up nicely. And that wasn't all, a lovely warm welcome as well. Service was exemplary, he chose the liver and bacon dish from the breakfast menu, I chose the Angus burger with cheese. Both meals pleased us in all aspects, and we have already planned a next visit to sample their $14 weekdays lunch ( 12 to 3pm) blackboard menus. Love also to try the craft beers on offer, but we needed to be driving another 1/2 hour! Another time.........

The staff is incredibly welcoming, professional and service-oriented. So nice to have that in a bar! But it's more than just a bar. The food was fantastic. Love the variety of meats and seafood you can cook yourself on the the grill stones. This is definitely the place to go in Kaiapoi. A somewhat hidden gem.

When in Kaiapoi we often enjoy the CBK Bar for lunch. The menu is exceptionally wide, with one of us having a stonegrill and the other a crispy chicken salad off the specials board. Both were well done and enjoyed. The service was attentive and friendly. CBK have an outdoor eating area as well as inside and seems well capable of hosting large groups. You won't get your ears blasted out by canned music either.

The hospitality here is the best I have experienced in Kaiapoi or Rangiora. Good Stone Grill options. The menu is casual, but the cooking is of a high standard. The staff really make this place feel good, I expect good training and management makes this happen so consistently. They offer a wide selection of drinks and have a loong happy hour. Its a happy place for a couple or a group.
