Delicious food! Such a great price and you get local fish. Really friendly staff too. Grab some fish and chips if you are in the area. Leftovers taste great the next day too. One of the ladies there gave me an extra fillet cause she said the first one was too small!

Best fish and chips everrrrr. Yum fish burger, whole fried flounder & banana fritter

High quality fish and chips. They use proper fresh fish, not frozen cheap stuff. I had a nice juicy Warehou, (sustainably fished apparently). Batter was thin and well fried, not thick and gloopy. Mussels and scallops were juicy. Can’t comment on the chips because I got potato fritters. Would 100% go here again.

Stopped in for a piece of fish and some prawn twisters. Yum. Waiting in ferry to go to Kohukohu. Friendly staff, good service. Nice food.

My partner and I stopped for fish & chips boxing day. Wonderful owners, they were very nice. Food was excellent, would highly recommend.

I visited this spot during my Northland trip. Good spot to eat some fish and chips. I got chicken burger which was really nice. I was pleased to see that the entire place had only women staff! The staff was very friendly with some great customer service skills. For the first time ever I saw an Aoxoyl fish! I would definitely visit this takeaway again when I visit this place next time and would highly recommend! Cheers

Tino reka te kai! Offered ice cold water and had our kai delivered to the beautiful kauri tables outside in the courtyard: special chicken burger, garlic butter fries and a couple of battered mussels - rawe!

Mean as fish n chip, vege burger was sick and the garlic butter chips were the best i have ever had

Highly recommend the flounder and chips. We were a large group , all our meals were fab, perfectly cooked and well presented. Nothing was too much trouble for our lovely young hosts. A great authentic Hokianga experience.

Had cooked Flounder, was lovely

Traveling the Far North and glad our new mate recommended your takeaways! Being a vegetarian most times I need to order just chips but tried your Vege burger and it was devine! Hubby enjoyed the flounder too. Neat, quiet garden to relax in while the whole family enjoyed their meals. Thank you!

Always greeted with huge smiles upon entering the takeaways by mother Belinda & daughter Medea. Food is great, to top the cake. Absolutely love the Bacon and Egg burgers as well as fish bites!

A nice little takeaways bar. Very clean open area with dining tables and sit down areas. A pleasant facility, family friendly, ideal setting for families, with very quick cooking times. eras Close to the car ferry, however limited uphill car parks available directly outside. Can't be helped, it is the nature of this little township. Food is excellent, ranging from wontons and interesting burgers. homemade paua fritters, battered oysters when available and the usual fish n chips. Worth the stop.

Epic food, good service and at a very good price. I have been coming here for a few years now and love it. Blue moo burger rocks, proper steak, and a 5 dollar deep fried banana and ice cream.

Absolutely brilliant fish (warehou) and chips but they do so much more besides. A clever twist on the usual fries, garlic chips, combined garlic butter and potato chips. A mussel fritter was spicy with tumeric and coconut and served (traditional styles) between two slices of white bread. Totally delicious. All served with smiles on a busy sunny day. I can think of so many seaside takeaways that could learn a thing or two from Hokianga Takeaways. Highly recommended!

This place was great. We ate the fish and chips. I charged my phone while waiting for the ferry. I forgot it. The owner ran it down to the ferry and made sure I had it. I would give 10 stars if I could.

First time back in Rawene in almost 20 years. Popped into this little place for lunch and it didn't disappoint. Fish of the day (warehou) with chips. Great friendly service, clean premises with a touch of local character (art work etc). I liked it and will definitely recommend to whanau and friends. Arohanui.
