Best Indian kai....so yum! We had the lamb kebabs tonight, plus I had lamb vindaloo and the best Naan for ages hubby had beef saag, omg I need a bigger yummy although won't be leaving leftovers behind will be asking to take them away.. If you like Indian you should stop in kawakwa for sure

my wife & I just ate our chicken vindaloo, sheekh kababs & roti & it was soooo delicious. if you don't try this takeaway you will be definately missing out even though were full we wanted more. We will be coming for another meal from Whananaki again. Terry & Linda

Best roadside stop in New Zealand! Do yourself a favor and eat here. They did their best to accommodate our dietary preferences, all of the food was super delicious and authentic, with the bonus of nice large portions and a great price! You can tell the owner really cares about his work.

This Amazing gem serves some of the best Indian food we've had in the North Island. Felt like we were back in India the tastes were so spot on. We can't drive though the Northland without stopping here. This place is Legit. Good items for novice Indian food eaters, and excellent home specialties.

Amazing Indian food! The chicken vindaloo was so good. And the south Indian food was one of the best I had in NZ. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back and highly recommend to try out. Ps: I stayed an extra night in that area to try some more delicacy.🙂

Great mango lassi and tasty uttapam and masala dosa. Has a homemade, authentic feel to the food. The staff/owners were hilarious, talking about struggles with pleasing customers over the busy holiday period. They were very focused on producing good food despite running low on supplies that day. The food didn’t completely match the description but it was delicious anyway. Will definitely be going back again.

Had chicken tikka masala, Channa batura and dosa yesterday. It was really awesome. Was authentic, freshly made, and prices are reasonable.

Food was amazing and all homemade. You can watch them stretch the dough by hand for the naan bread and cook in a charcoal oven, while also doing hand made samosa. Butter chicken and lamb Rogan Josh were great with very tender meet and delicious spices.

. (03/2017) Tasty food. Amicable and friendly owner. Food is prepared in front of you plus it was the first time I witnessed any restaurant preparing my favorite starters in front of my eyes which are normally re-heated ones at most of the restaurants. Enjoyed the experience.
