Absolutely recommend this place. The food is very very tasty, came out in less than 10 minutes, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. 'Nuff said, try it yourself!

First Israeli food experience. Beef has many hard pieces, schwarma lamb tastes good. The salad is interesting, but Falafel is too salty. Overall experience is good, service is excellent, waitress is very welcoming.

Ate here on a very quiet night in Kerikeri, one of the few places open for dinner. We struck the jackpot! Beautiful spot under the vines at the back of a cobbled brick alley off the main drag. Welcoming & helpful as we weren’t sure of some of the menu items. Falafels and hummus starter sooo flavourful, and the mains of lamb and chicken shawarma delicious & plentiful. Chocolate cake and ice cream to takeaway - icing on the very yummy cake. Go here, you won’t regret it.

Absolutely beautiful food. The flavours are fresh and tasty. Eastern food is always a treat that's hard to find in NZ. Staff were lovely and we had a really nice evening. Thanks alot guys and amazing work! We will definately be coming back when we visit kerikeri again. Highly recommend.

My wife and I went there for dinner, we were both really surprised about how good the food and service was here. My wife ordered the lamb/beef koftas and I ordered the chicken hearts and liver. We also got the dip platter, I would recommend just getting the roasted smoked eggplant dip if you were wanting a little extra the rest of the dip were quite generic tasting. Both meals were really nice and I couldn't be happier.

A friend of mine who lives locally recommended this place ans for good reason. Huge portions. Huge flavour. So many different types of food, generously served and delicious. Cannot rate higher

Amazing flavoursome food. Everything from the hummus, to labaneh, to meats are super tasty. We got the Mezze of 1 vegetarian (falafel) and 3 choices of meats (chicken hearts & livers, Kofta, lamb shawarma) which was a feast on its own. The beef and lamb koftas were my absolute fave! All washed down with 2 glasses of the Barkan pinot noir. Wonderful service!

Delightful cafe at end of vine covered cobbled courtyard. Pleasant waitress explained the menu and help me find delish food for my dietary requests. Hubby happily demolished a lamb dish with rice and vegetables.

The food is amazing I had the 4 meat mezze platter I am a fussy eater I asked for no cucumber the waiter said no problem it was so good and so relaxing I would like to give it a TEN STAR

We stopped in Kerikeri for the waterfalls and decided to have dinner. We found this friendly restaurant by chance. The food was excellent. The mezze was varied and really tasty. Definitely a good pick.

Breakfast at jerusalem cafe is tasty as hell. Get a Shakshuka don't worry about having a standard breakfast mix it up be different you'll be pleased. Atomic coffee . Also had a bureka potatoes and mushrooms in pastry what's not to love.

Cute little cafe hidden in town. Delicious mediterranean food, from kebabs, flat bread with choices of dips, vegetarian, lamb chops, tasty race, deserts and more. Friendly service, entertaining background music and timely service. Opens Mon to Sat 10am - 9pm, closes Sun. Suggest to stop when you can🙂👍

It is not easy to go to Jerusalem but I won't miss the chance to try good Jerusalem food when I have a chance. The food are delicious. The setting of this small Cafe is very interesting and looks authentic.

Visit: January 2020 Quality: very nice flavours. Very unique for new Zealand scenery. I was visiting Kerikeri and when I’ve seen the Cafe I know I had to try it. Everything we ordered was fresh and just as you would expect it. Quantity: every dish we ordered (we’ve ordered about 5) was big enough and everyone at the table walked full. Aspect: very nice and unique. Service: well the lady that served us did a wonderful job explaining us and helping us choose what to have. I wish Auckland would have a place like this (it might have and I didn't discovered it)

If you are tired of always eating the same thing and want to delight yourself with something different this is the place. The best falafel in New Zealand!!!

Wow!!! What a find. Excellent food, and we might have missed it had we not ventured past the busy neighboring cafe in this alley way. I'm a big fan of Levant cooking and this certainly delivered in spades. We had the dip platter and dukkah, then the lamb schwarma, the "Veggie" (falafel and levivot) salad, and Koftas. All excellent, well made with care and quite traditional.

Incredibly good food! I love food from this part of the world, especially mixed platters and this cafe had amazing food. The courtyard was overflowing with diners and tables were booked out etc. Clearly the locals know that this place has great cuisine.

Right, so I absolutely adore the Fat Camel in Whangarei. But Cafe Jerusalem is just better. It's more fragrant and interesting in my opinion. I love my international food - and middle eastern is easily my favourite!

After living in the Middle East and Turkey as an NZ ex pat for years, we have experienced a lot of great food from this area of the world. Cafe Jurusalem served us a meal as good as the best of our extensive experience in the region. Certainly the best of its kind in NZ. The balanced range of flavours and combinations were consistently outstanding. At an amazing price.

Shakshuka is really nice! Nice and cozy, it was quite busy summer Monday lunch, but still got a table for 4.

Outstanding food, we had a platter which was reasonably priced and gave us a delicious taste of several meat and salad dishes. Had to force ourselves to try somewhere different the next day but returned here it was so good. If it's busy, expect the food to take a while and just relax with a drink.

Really nice atmosphere and location, tucked away in a vibrant food court in the centre of Kerikeri. The food was tasty along with generous portion sizes, there was also a nice variety for any diet. Certainly recommend for a pleasant lunch out or a coffee catchup 🙂

Really so good it was a high light of our trip. Great service, amazing food, great atmosphere. The food was really authentic and I had forgotten how good proper hummus can be, the kofta was great and yummy falafel. Outstanding was the service. Friendly, knowledgable, efficient and kiwi laid back.

Authentic Israeli food in hearty, tasty portions. The shawarma salad was very well presented and prepared well. Very impressive for Mediterranean fare in New Zealand.

Went here after seeing the reviews and wanting something different for lunch while travelling. Was a great decision, staff were friendly, service was prompt and the food was full of flavour with very generous portion sizes. We choice for the meal options, only had a light dinner.

Never had a bad meal from this place! Always full of flavour, and in particular the chicken metuvlan pita is really tasty! The staff are friendly, and its nice to choose to sit inside, or outside in the courtyard.

I love this place. It's the only place I eat when I visit Kerikeri. Their food is authentic, delicious and reasonably priced. The falafel here is unreal, it is so, so good. Best falafel in NZ easily. Also the homemade lemonade is amazing too! Highly recommend. Falafel pita is vegan too if you get no yoghurt!!

Cute little cafe with different food for NZ. I had the chicken livers and hearts which were really nicely cooked (give it a go, offally delicious). I don't know all of the names for things but the sides were fresh and complemented the protein well. Mix things up a little and drop by.

I never had any Israeli cuisine and this place gave me an amazing introduction! Everything my partner and I ordered hit all the best spots. Hopefully we'll drive by that far north again one day!

UPDATE FEB 2020 I came to the realization that, if one day I come to discover I am dying, one of my last wishes would be to come here and eat this food one last time. Still Amazing. 2019 I firmly believe that I just had one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Everything was an explosion of flavors and feelings, like angels cuddling your thong at every bite. Strongly recommend and will go back tomorrow. Btw, do yourself a favor and, if you are coming for the first time, go with the platter and the chocolate cake dessert. Thank me later.

Great food and coffee. Tried the Vege meal and the Kofta meal. Both were very well prepared and all the sides were tasty as well. Followed up with a long black that I enjoyed as well.

Tasty food and worth getting the mezze platter for 2, so you can try a bit of everything. Very small number of tables inside and out so would recommend booking, however they also do takeaways.

Beautiful little place with fantastic food! A must-do in Kerikeri! We especially recommend the Metuvlun, sauteed chicken and onions served in a pita or on a plate with other dishes. Either way it's incredible. We also love one of their blackboard specials called shakshuka, poached eggs served on a tomato chili sauce. This place is one of our great finds in New Zealand.

We always visit during our annual holiday in the Bay of Islands and this year it was as delicious as always. I tried something new this time...the shakshuka which was delicious. Highly recommend having lunch here

My husband and I were in Kerikeri for a family event. We were staying in the Bay of Islands Country Lodge just on the outskirts of Kerikeri and went exploring on the last morning of our stay. We visited a number of attractions in the area and chose Cafe Jerusalem to have a meal before we headed home. We both thought the experience was fabulous and here's why. You know how when you want to experience something new and you order something and it comes with options you know nothing about and you get confused and often the person behind the counter gets impatient and short with you because you can't decide quick enough? Well that did, and didn't happen. We got confused and she explained the relevance of each option with a lovely smile. Makes you glad you chose them. I had Shislik and my husband had Schwarma (as meals) and they were both herby/tasty, the salad was fresh, the condiments were perfectly balanced and the bread was warm. It was so delicious I finished mine before my husband finished his. That doesn't happen. I felt like I inhaled it. One minute it was all there and the next it was gone. My husband laughed and said he preferred to savour the tastes. Each to his own. The cafe is tucked into an alcove with other food establishments. It's quite an intimate setting with each establishment offering its own slice of the courtyard for outside dining. We will go back there and maybe try something else but Cafe Jerusalem is on our list of 'musts' for the area. As an aside; we had to drive 9 hours to get home (Auckland motorway issues). The meal sustained us for that journey and at no time did we feel like we shouldn't have eaten so much. We can't wait to go back. LOVED IT!!

Best food in Northland.

Cafe Jerusalem is a great place for a healthy genuine meal of middle Eastern cuisine. I would recommend one of the players if you are a first timer to this style of food. Prices are good and the vibe of the village mall makes for pleasant outdoor dining on a sunny Summers evening! The village mall is dog friendly too, by the way.

had lunch there with a friend, first time, LOVED the food, so filling, had the lamb and salad, and tried an apple tea, OMG that was the best fruit tea I have ever had, definitely go back if I am in Kerikeri at lunch time again!

Beautiful little Café with a cozy atmosphere. We tried the falafel pita and Shishlik pita, both were really satisfying and tasty. The baklava (with Icecream) and halva are great treats to enjoy. Unfortunately we did not tried the others. Friendly staff and an overall relaxing experience. Would love to visit again.

Very Good! I had the chicken pita, the chicken had wonderful herbs and spices, and mint yogurt. I loved it. And a refreshing lemonade with a hint of mint.

Why isn't there a six star option? This place is incredible. We got the taster plate and everything was amazing - falafel was great, incredible kofta, hommus to die for. So happy I stopped here, wish I didn't live 8 hours flight away.

We had a great meal at the Café Jerusalem today! We shared the mezze platter with two veggie and two meat options and basically those two veggie options were the only ones on the menu - except of the (fantastic) dips! The food was very delicious but the real stuff came afterwards: the dessert. If you know Baklava from the turkish cuisine, forget everything you thought you know and try their Baklava! It's big (!) and sweet - but not that sweet as the turkish ones, there are big chunks in it and there are a lot more spices - we were blown away by this. Really: try it.
