This Restaurant is Simply The Best.. What a wonderful surprise..!! I've had the Beef Ribs, they were Perfect and the Sticky Toffee Pudding was the best dessert I've ever tried in my life.. Not expensive at all, the service is Excellent.. About food and restaurants it's "The Pearl" of Kerikeri.. I will come back every time..

Fabulous restaurant & the decor is so nice they have different little areas to suit all kinds. Booked a table of 5 & then a party of 15 were seated soon after, it didn't make a bit of difference our food came out quick & easy as if we were the only guests dining. Excellent menu so well cooked. A popular place to dine, no surprises there. The food is fabulously presented and tastes devine. The waitstaff are charming and friendly and a real pleasure to deal with. We chose The Black Olive as our dining place while on holiday, in Kerikeri. The Sangria is delicious and refreshing so try try try.

I absolutely love to go to Black Olive since they have great food options, and the staff is awesome. Last weekend I asked the owners for a very specific order: a gluten free chocolate caramel cake for a friends birthday. This cake turned out amazing! Everyone couldn't believe how tasteful it was. A wonderful restaurant. The food was wonderful. Started with a garlic pesto pizza, the pastry amazingly light, and so tasty! Seafood risotto was perfect, the seafood fresh and perfectly cooked. The sauce in chicken and mushroom fettucine was to die for...highly recommend! The service was excellent.

Friday 18/8/17 group for farewell gathering. Chicken risotto was great. Steak was cooked to my likeing but the mushroom sauce was over powered by tomato flavour like sauce. Fish n chips was nice. What I found a problem was the gas heaters, not enough ventilation. Great staff and service. Oh the banana split....yummy had it for starter...I'd go there again and have pizza...everyone I saw looked great.

It was a Saturday night, every table full, but people were being served well by three or four waitresses and a waiter, first night on, originally from South Carolina! All competent and pleasant. The food was OK, the pizzas tasty, the fish and chips looked good, the olive pizza bread moreish, but my beans and spinach were overcooked, the wine was OK. Go for the atmosphere, service and good veggey choices.

My husband and I tried this place on Thursday night - they were busy - yet the service was super fast - I had the lamb shank and it was truely spot on - hubby had seafood risotto full of seafood and flavour he said! The service was outstanding lovey & friendly ! Definitely will be going back next time we are in Kerikeri

Wow, a hidden gem! Those pizzas were aMAzing. Crispy, chewy crusts with one of the best toppings I've ever had. On a Tuesday night around 7pm, the place was humming, so book in advance. Order the large ones and bring some slices home. They're worth it.

Awesome space, amazing food and even better service. Had the salmon special and it was seasoned perfectly. The marinated fish was very fresh and the pizza was perfect. Very generous toppings and a tasty flavour combo with the blue cheese and peach chutney. The service was warm, professional and genuinely delightful. Over priced. The food was average for the cost. My fries were under cooked and my Dads order was wrong. But we did not complain as we hardly eat out together anymore. Unfortunately over all, it was a disappointment. On a good note the entrees were very nice and the service was good.

The best in Kerikeri in my opinion! Lovely cozy and warm with a great vibe inside. Ordered a takeaway so sadly could not appreciate the ambience that comes with a sit down. Ordered a Calamari Starter, Lamb Shank Mains with Fries, all as a takeaway! Food full of flavour and expertly cooked! I can highly recommend this as a business traveller! Will definitely be back! What can I say absolutely lovely experience all round. They were extremely busy and still managed to get us seated smartly. The staff were helpful. I totally loved my olive salad. My wife enjoyed her pasta and Son in law rated his ribs as very good and my Daughter raved about her lamb. Everything was cooked to perfection. The drinks and deserts were Devine. Thanks team very delicious a true credit to you. Will definitely back.

Amazing service. We had 4 adults a teenager and a toddler in a public holiday 6pm..... The play ground was perfect for our toddler. We didn't have to wait long at all. They had a full house. Easy parking. Fast, amazing meals for our vegetarian, children and delicious surf n turf & fish n chips. The staff are on form 😁😀

Was ok. Reminds me of gastro pub in Auckland. Eg: black Smith takanini or Good home. Staff members were Abit lost and the unknowledgeable of tonight's special. We caught black olive at a busy time. We booked table for 4. they gave us tables inside but was too noisy. So request to go outside which was much better. Food took longer than expected but taste delicious. Worth the wait.

We went here for pizza, and while it was very tasty I wouldn't call it special. What is special, though, is the restaurant itself. It's small, cozy and gives you that feeling that you've stumbled into a hidden place (you definitely need to make a reservation). We'll definitely go back and try some of their pasta and other main dishes.

The Black Olive came up in a Google search of places that provided takeaway pizzas so we decided to try them - so glad we did!! Casual dining, fireplace, good food. The pasta, you can as chicken or bacon to the vegan options, and they are amazing, and huge servings. Also I love the Asian beef salad. Went there again last night, wow. Just everything was healthy and inspiring. The raw fish salad was perfection, and the Pan Fried Salmon was the definition of Heaven! Now that all the other restaurants are closing these guys have stepped up to the plate, and knocked it out of the park!

Had a lovely meal. Very nice waitress (although 'jus' isn't pronounced 'juice'). Risotto top notch, and the steak we had spot on. Greek pizza nice, but missing something I couldn't put my finger on. Not sure what. Capers, maybe? Anyway, apart from 'Pizzas' being spelled with a posessive apostrophe everywhere on the menu, the night was a cracker, despite being busy. The fact that so many people go to this place shows two things: kiwi people don´t know much about pizzas, and people in Kerikeri don´t have many choices. I went there once and the doe tasted like it was bought in Countdown. The toppings were all right but not a big deal.
