It's cool to have a Spanish restaurant in the Hutt Valley region. This one has good small Spanish Tapa eateries. The mains are tasty but pricey for Petone

This is a hidden gem in Petone. We had Empanadas, patatas bravas, paella and caramello and they were excellent. Keep up the good work. Will go back again.

In centre of Jackson st is a small cosy rustic restaurant . The aroma of Spanish cooking can be intoxicating and as you enter you are not disappointed. This is a small restaurant with only 5 tables so booking ahead would be a good idea. Using only quality ingredients the wait time is worth it. The Pan con tomato bread is very tasty and the Pasta Mediterranean is a mouthful of joy, however a few more shrimps and mussels would be good. Sometimes the best things are come from waiting a bit longer. The owner is very friendly and treats you like a special customer, something other eateries could learn by.

The food is delicious, the place has a really cosy atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it and I would definitely come back many times.

Tonight we had the most amazing meal at Ole. If you’re looking for great food and even better atmosphere don’t hesitate to try them out. The food was outstanding, my personal favourite was the Patatas Bravas. Our drinks were spectacular, and they had a great range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Great atmosphere, perfect for a date night or a catch up with some close friends. All staff were amazing and made us feel right at home ❤️ thank you for an amazing night out

Nice family owned restraunt could probably do with a designated server but obviously that's not always possible for smaller venues like this. Definitely give it a go the entrees and Mains are all really good just missing the star due to service

We ordered 2 takeaways meals from the menu. The paella is very good but quite small portion for the price of $70. And the lamb skewers wasnt that good or special. The meat was very tough,. 2 takeaways meals had cost us $104 considerably quite expensive.

We have just had a very pleasant meal here, the friendly owner dealt with us and the restaurant overall has a good atmosphere. Most of all the food was great, a mushroom Tapa dish was outstanding and even though we did not feel the need for deserts, we did anyway, and they were both superb. We will definitely be back and this time will bring some friends, now that we have found another Petone dining gem!

Superb! The paella was delicious! The churasco was super nice! The owner and chef was so accommodating and super interesting to have a yarn with. Highly recommend this.

Christine and I had a meal here in October 2019 and it was superb. Cosy atmosphere, perfectly cooked and presented meals (she had the beef, I the lamb) .... so tasty. And the chardonnay was well priced and delicious. This is a small, enterprising restaurant that offers something unusual and delicious — it's worth supporting.

Been craving for some spanish food for long and I was happy to find Olé. Food was tasty with decent portion size. It's a small cosy place in Petone's historic jackson street. The owner of the place is running the entire place on her own doing a commendable job and was sweet enough to come n have a talk as well. I find that very hospitable.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner and were very impressed. My husband had the spanish beer and loved it, the mains were amazing and flavourful.The portions were just right (satisfying but not too much) and the service was very friendly. This is a hidden gem on Jackson street! We will be back to visit soon.

We just found Ole randomly looking for a place to eat after a Lighthouse movie. We had 2 great tapas plates, a zucchini plate and a meatballs dish and shared a main of bbq style steak with wonderful potatoes and some vege accompliment. Excellent food. Great service. Very small intimate restaurant..Violetta cooks and the other lady who's name I didn't get, sorry, serves. They could not be more hospitable......they are very warm and really friendly. Just like a small bistro in Spain or Portugal. But probably much better food...in quality and presentation. This is a real find. Probably will be crowded next time we go.....this will not stay a secret very long...and deservedly so. These guys really deserve success.

A great cosy small restaurant. We had a wonderful meal last Friday night. Each dish was delicious. A real test for me is how a chef can cook squid rings without them being tough and chewy and these were succulent and melted in our mouths. The Venison enchiladas with a green sauce (not sure what is was) were also very nice. The tenderlion dish in a mushroom sauce and the middle eastern lamb dishes were succulent. Clearly the chef knows what she is doing with meat. I believe Ole is relatively new and adds to the quality of restaurants in Petone.

Highly recommend to all !! The Paella is Beautiful the food is amazing and full of flavour..and of course there are a great selection of tasty Tapas and wine. Perfect for date night or any occasion. Great quality food and service

Honestly waited an hour for the starters which was olives and some very ordinary calamari and another hour for the mains which didn't even come out together so one of us had to wait a bit longer. I got the steak (wasn't asked how I wanted it done) it was a bit rubbery but wasn't terrible. But the annoying part was I didn't have a steak knife to cut it and the most budget fork ever that would bend when trying to stab the steak. The rest of the dish was a below average salad and some plain old spuds, nothing special or unique. Could have made this at home in about 35mins. They say they were busy but didn't look that busy to me. Maybe they were under staffed I don't know. Anyway didn't feel worth the wait or the price, won't be back in a hurry.

Authentic and tasty food with appropriate selection of drinks (our Sangria was heaped with yummy fresh fruit). The owner/maître d' is very personable and enjoys talking with guests. Looking forward to eating here again.

Went back to this funky little restaurant, last visit was before Xmas. Great place for us to have a wine and tapa after an early movie at the Lighthouse around the corner. Food was great, (could have had more) and the wine list has a satisfactory mix of reds and whites, I had a very nice red. The lovely duty manager, Karen and the ebullient Violeta made for a very pleasant evening. With winter arriving, means more movies to see, so will be back.

Amazing little restaurant in Petone. Tapas were great to share with the table of four and everything is seasonal and fresh. Violeta is a star and it was wonderful to talk to her about food. She is incredibly passionate. Next time I'm keen to try the empanadas and the rest of the tapas menu. Oh, and try a glass of a Spanish red on offer! You won't be disappointed.

Highly recommend you try the cuisine at ole Spanish aswell as the freshly made sangria that's made to order followed by a mouth watering dessert my partner and I will definitely be coming back,look forward to seeing you and your friendly staff in the near future.

The food was delicious. It was disappointing that there was no Duty manager so could not have a wine to go with it. With improvement in organisation this place would be a little gem.
