The food here is delicious and the service is helpful and friendly. If you’re looking to get off the butter chicken band wagon I suggest you give the Special Nawabi a crack. The Rara Chicken, which was recommended, is also very good (both in the picture). Mango lassi is always a hit with my partner and the naan is fresh and hot. The wait staff can also suggest something off menu, if you want an expert to choose your meal.

This is my first time going this restaurant! The naan is the best i hv ever had in Wellington😋 the curries are alright! They got one item called butter chicken indian style, it really tastes a but different from the normal one, less sweet due to less tomato paste added, more cashew and spice! It’s good! It’s not as sweet as I usually had! The service is good also!

This is an Indian restaurant like no other. The menu choices cover cuisines from right across the country, and the highlight for me is the "street food" section featuring items I've never seen on a menu in New Zealand. Staff are the friendliest people you could hope to meet - no "close your eyes, point at something and hope for the best" here. If you're unsure of something, they're genuinely pleased to talk to you about the food and ensure you're getting something that will delight you. If you're stuck on butter chicken and think a korma is being adventurous, this is there place to start your culinary journey across India.

Geez, what more can I say. Amazing authentic Indian cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed the chef's recommendation of Lamb Nawabi. My wife & grandson had Butter Chicken, with meals served with yummy garlic naan & fluffy rice. The taste of the food was devine. I uttered to my family, that the first car that pulls out of a park in Jackson St, was where we eat. Absolutely the right place. I want to thank the chef's & the wonderful host for treating us. Myself & whanau have found our goto Indian Restaurant.

So we went here for a casual dine in a couple of days ago. The restaurant as expected for a dine-in in these days was not too busy, but we did notice a lot of delivery orders coming in. Not sure if it was because of that, or the staff was on holiday, but our order of Amritsari Kulcha and Aloo Tikki Chat took 28 minutes to arrive from the time we ordered. Although the owner and the staff did keep on apologising to us about the delay, we were almost about to move out before the order arrived. The owner was quite courteous and apologetic about the same, which I believe is all that customer service is about, owning your mistakes and work towards fixing them. The food was pretty good, felt almost authentic, which is quite rare to find around this area. Will definitely be visiting again for a proper dinner here. Keep up the great work fellas.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Wellington. Went to Ruchi for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in. Food was great. The menu has a large range of authentic dishes, including some items that I haven't seen in other Wellington Indian restaurants. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Ruchi's. My partner and I have been to this restaurant twice now, and each time have had exceptional food and service. The food is delicious and tastes authentic, and some unique dishes are on the menu. The Aloo Gobi I had last night tasted amazing, and the Garlic Naan was perfect - light, fluffy, and crispy. We will definitely be back! Not just delicious food but also impeccable service by the lovely staff. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves amazing and authentic Indian food!

I dined in at Ruchi restaurant to celebrate my special occasion - "marriage anniversary". The restaurant is spacious and ambience is wonderful; the paintings throughout the restaurant remind you of diverse culture in India. The hospitality offered by Sherry is amazing as was the food. We ordered different non veg starters; all were delicious. Lamb seekh kabab is a must try. In main course, we tried fish kadhai and paneer tikka masala with garlic naan - you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to try mango kulfi as a dessert - a true delicacy. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Thanks Sherry for a memorable experience. I will definitely come again😊

This is such a wonderful Indian restaurant. The food is very tasty, well made and cooked to your choice of spice heat. The variety is great. The service, and friendliness is out standing. Such an incredible experience for our party of 10. Amazing service from the beginning. Entrees all out and hot at the same time, same again with the mains. Genuinely one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in NZ. We ordered a bunch of different curries, and naans, and they were all delicious (including the mango lassi, which was so good I ordered two of them). The food is awesome, with some really unique flavours you don’t see from other places. But what really sets these guys apart is their exceptional service. I have VERY high standards for Indian food as I grew up on it. I have to say, this restaurant is by far the best and most authentic Indian restaurant that I have ever tried in New Zealand. There was a beautiful balance of flavors in all of the dishes I ordered and it was a real joy to eat. I highly recommend you go here. I will definitely be coming back, often!! Their Indian street food menu is fantastic and easy for vegetarians. The staff are extremely accommodating, and the kitchen still accepts orders at 9.30, unlike the other restaurants on Jackson st.

I feel this is something you shouldn’t get wrong especially when the person over the phone who took my order repeated it for me… Quite disappointed. We won’t be returning…

We visited the restaurant on Saturday for the first time. The food was delicious. We had ordered vegetarian and it was awesome. This is the first restaurant we have seen so much garlic in garlic naan. We could see the fried gobi in aloo gobi adraki, which was yummy. We've eaten fried rice in a few restaurants, they usually mix it with tomato sauce. But this one was not like that, it tasted really good. My son enjoyed eating peshawari naan, he usually just has 1 piece but here he had 2. I guess that says it all. Not to forget, the customer service, everyone were so welcoming. We would definitely visit again.

We love, love, love Ruchi Indian Cuisine. We've brought our friends and family here and they loved it too. Most authentic Indian food we've had outside of India. Service is fantastic, food is incredible, menu and drinks selection is great. Do yourself a favour and try the delicious Butter Chicken or Chicken Tikka Masala, the spot on Goat Curry or Biriyani, or the tasty Paneer Kulcha. You won't be disappointed!!

Tonight was our second visit and the restaurant keeps getting better !! Ruchi the owner is such a lovely, welcoming host and his duty manager and chef also chatted happily with us. I love the atmosphere and it felt like we were being invited into our host's home to share a family meal. And what a meal ! The food was fantastic...the best Indian food I have ever eaten and I'm 69 years old so I have eaten a lot ! The portions are generous and the service was superb. Ruchi has now got an alcohol licence so I enjoyed a cold Kingfisher Premium beer to wash down the house specialty, Nawabi Lamb. My partner is a vegetarian and likes her food "Indian hot"...she had such a wide variety of dishes to choose from and the spiciness of her dish brought a smile to her face !! Thoroughly recommended.

I don’t know what I can say about Ruchi restaurant and in particular Ruchi the owner, Ruchi is an excellent owner who looks after his customers. He is very caring and he does what it takes to keep you happy and smiling. The food is outstanding and the service is one of the best I have seen. I come to the restaurant to enjoy the experience of the customer service that Ruchi offers to us. The whole family loves the place, my wife and my kids. If you find anything not good, just feel free to let Ruchi know he takes it very very seriously and he makes sure that you will never experience that again. Although I cannot fault the tastiness or quality of the meal, I was rather disappointed in the amount of chicken pieces in our curry. 5 small pieces of chicken was pretty sad for a $19.90 curry dinner which left us with half a rice leftover. Felt like a $12 lunch special.

The quality of a restaurant extends far beyond its food, and it is obvious that a lot of love goes into Ruchi. The food is marvelous - there are these little touches that tell you that you're eating something familiar, yet slightly different. But Ruchi particularly excels in its service and friendliness: The place makes you feel very welcome, and if you're lucky enough to meet the owner (as we were), he treats you very much like an old friend. Even days after our visit, we find ourselves talking about the next time we want to pass by for dinner.

Was greated by the lady at the front who was very polite and provided impeccable service the whole time we were there, checking in on us and making sure everything was going well with us and the food. Food was insanely good and her service was 10/10. For a woman who's never worked in hospo before she did such a bang up job of it. Over all for the price of the food it was amazing. For the 2 of us it was just over $70 which included 3 drinks and 2 mains and 2 starters. I will be 100% coming back here again. Highly suggest and recommend. Also to the woman who served us last night, thank you, you really made our night!

Acq;uired 3 months ago and just opened for one month since Covid Lockdown RIC is a great little Indian restaurant located in Petone CBD in Jackson Street. It offers a small but sufficient menu of value meals at lunchtime (chicken, lamb, seafood, vegetarian dishes). Meals were served quickly while piping hot, and included rice, curry, nan and a soft drink. And you cannot fault the service which was professional and excellent due to their prompt attention when customers arrive (or at least when we arrived, past the lunch peak period).
