Amazing, great fish and chips at reasonable prices. Excellent service and new clean premise. Was busy but only waited 15 mins, so may want to call and place an order for pick up.

The fish and chips from here is actually REALLY good. The chips are hot, crispy, and moist on the inside. The fish is crunchy on the outside and flaky on the inside. They season both with a bit of lemon pepper, which I found really delicious. Staff was super nice and our food only took about 10 minutes. Tau Lin is a hidden gem!

This place is awesome as a fast food, the portion was great for the amount of money you pay! Did order a combination pack which says good for 2 but was able to feed a family of 4. Hahaha. 😊 On the other hand, the minors working may wear a smile maybe when serving. 😅 this is a family business and I hope that's not against NZ law.

The best wontons I have had in a long time. Unfortunately I just drove 40 mins to get some dinner to find it closed - though it said on Google it was open. Very sad.

Generous portions! Ordered $19 special...big pieces of fresh fish cooked in a crunchy batter. Drained nicely so not oily and a sprinkle of lemon pepper to serve. Wontons were tasty too! Friday evening was busy.. but worth the wait.

The deep fried food is ok with good portions. Nice batter on fish with lemon pepper on chips. The Chinese food is pretty good slso so no complaints there. But the burgers are not good, cold, boring and generally looks like someone sat on it. I would not recommend ordering a burger unless you wish to be disappointed. Wait times can vary when busy. We made phone order got told 15 mins but was almost 40 mins before it was ready. I understand that it is a busy time at night, but if it's going to be half an hour then say it's going to be half an hour. Overall meal is ok and the kids enjoy it which is the main objective.

I'm Brazilian and stopped at Tau Lin to get a fried rice and a Dory. Both were delicious, nothing oily, with a homemade flavor. The fish was perfect: tasty, crunchy and dry. Congratulations, success to you guys 👏👏

We came here on a Friday night so it was pretty full, first time here as we were visiting. It was really good fish and chips. The lemon pepper was a nice touch to the fish, crunchy batter how i like it and fish are of decent size. My husband had the bacon and egg burger and he smashed it back. We will come back here before we leave. We were told there as a 40 minute wait which we accepted considering it seemed everyone in Mangawhai must eat out on a friday night

Really great portion sizes and yummy food. Loved the chow mein options and the combo fried rice was awesome. Delicious and comforting. And they sell bubble teas! Although I didn’t try one, so can’t comment on that.

Teetering on the dubious line between child labour violations and essential budget fast food provider for the town. 3 stars for the sheer amount of chips you gave me for $2.50. Minus 2 stars for making me feel like I sponsored a sweatshop when a child served me. Plus 2 stars for quality service from said minor.

Perfectly cooked chips, fresh yummy Snapper, good price and big portions. Great fish and chips- best I've had in a long time! Chinese is really yummy fresh and well cooked, very good! Definitely phone order or be patient as it does take around 20mins, but worth it for the fresh well cooked food.

Great little place. Very quick service. To call the serving generous is a massive understatement. We had fish and chips . The fish was very fresh and the chips were delicious. Definitely a place to recommend of youre in the Mangawhai area.

Had the cheeseburger and fries Sunday 14/04/19. Food was okay. Loved that there was a lot of cheese and that it wasn't the plastic pre-sliced type. Downside: the patty was undercooked and some of the chips were great but some were overcooked. Service was friendly and efficient

Cheese Burger Was Like A Pancske But Tasted Ok, Scallops Were Ok Apart From Over Batter & The Seasoning Was A Nice Addition, Fed The Chips To The Sea Gulls Eww, Too Crispy & Oily.. No Complaints From The Gulls Tho. Got A Free $3 Scallop But Had To Wait Waay! Too Long For The Order

Why don't you put the covid 19 check-in barcode on the desk by the front door instead of the tables that you have in your shop for the customers to eat on? It just doesn't make sense , but hey 🤷🏽‍♂️ it's your shop so yeah

Good take away shop with a wide variety of different types of food on the menu. Portions are big and a overall good food experience, very popular with the local community and very busy during the time we were there.
