Reviews of Star Food Cafe
I.It was alright but definitely not worth $83.70 for the quality of our meals. Steaks weren't fresh and salad also wasn't fresh and I know I should know because I'm a ex chef myself and every restaurant I go to I only order the steak meals. We asked for medium rear we got one raw steak and one cooked steak and the steak in the burger was chewy as hell. So my stars will rate for quantity and presentation as they were too bad. You need fresh products guys and don't over season the steaks I could hardly taste the steak itself.
R.A Very consistent little cafe that never disappoints. It competes very well with the bigger competitors. It's a little like the 'Little 'Red Engine' I know I can I know I -can I knew I could I knew I could .
Try it you will not be disappointed next time you are in Matamata.
F.Thai beef salad and the tom yum soup is really good. The thai beef salad is different from what im use to but because of that I like it alot
E.Very, very impressed with this place! The guys running it are extremely friendly and the food is incredible! I had the vegetarian red curry (medium) and was amazed by the quality!
Also amazing was the quantity! I can eat a lot and rarely do I leave a restaurant full, but these guys accomplished that task with some to spare!
Don't be put off by the common look from the outside, this place is a hidden gem and I'll be returning very soon!!!
From the guts that stayed a little late finishing their food (sorry) keep up the AWESOME work people!

The concept of mixing western breakfast and Asian (Thai) food is very interesting. But honestly the egg benedict has a long way to go to compare the ones in other cafes... The noodle soup is delicious, though it will be perfect if Siracha sauce/Hoison sauce/chopped chilli can be provided as in Vietnam restaurants.
R.Great price. We ordered Thai food from their paper menu (as opposed to blackboard menu) and the quality was more than we expected. Taste was awesome too.
D.Lovely staff sausage rolls and muffins just out of oven very yummy made a fuss of Grandchildren and made them great waffles coffee excellent
