Came up from Rotorua to try and it did not disappoint. The team were lovely and friendly. We had the baked brie for the starter and it was so good followed by the steak and prawn & avocado salad - both delicious! Will definitely come back again!

I don't write reviews but the Beef cheek ragu with rigatoni was not very nice. there was barely any meat in there. (not sure if that's how it's meant to be) my family said pizzas were average and chicken parmigiana was average. the sweet apple cider was about the nicest thing I had. The older man bringing us our drinks was a nice smiley fella though!

We decided to eat here because the Pizza Menu looked very interesting and really enjoyed our experience. Between us we had the Baked Brie and the Carbonara Pizza and were completely full and satisfied afterwards. Brie was beautiful and creamy and went very well with the Ciabatta and Cranberries it is served with. Pizza had generous toppings, nice and cheesy and the chicken wasn’t dry which can be a bit tricky on Pizza. Star of the night was definitely the Brie! Had a lovely waitress that was very attentive. Atmosphere and background music was very good and not too busy at all. (Glad we didn’t read the reviews before coming in so we could have a completely unbiased experience. Seems to be a fair bit of inconsistency with food quality and service, which is a shame because we had a great time!)

What a wonderful little Cafe, extremely good food, we shared the Antipasto platter and it was one of the best we ever had. Very friendly service from the waiter and the chef was very approachable when I commented on how nice the whole experience was, we had a couple of nice wines and finnished with Two espressos and a lovely Tiramisu. The only slightly negative comment was the tiramisu had no alcohol (either Marsala or rum which would make it truly traditional , ) we are new ti the mount and this will definitely be a regular for us. They also have a very tempting set menu Tuesday and Wed so we we definitely try that.

Planned to go here for dinner for awhile as I thought the menu looked good online. Portions are huge. Our service was great and as far as I could see everyone there that evening got good service as well. Short wait times, venue warm, seated right away , drinks came quickly.

A bit too popular with the cruise ship passengers for an evening meal, but we went for an early Sunday lunch when it was fairly quiet. I’m so glad we did as the menu was full of so many things I would have loved to try! I opted for the Borek, which was an extremely generous serve, accompanied by a lovely, fresh Greek-style salad. I couldn’t finish it. My friend had the Hot Hummus and Dukkah, and then went on to talk about the amazing Turkish bread for days... 😆 Efficient, friendly service and fair prices.

While atmosphere was attractive and meals delicious there were sufficient unpleasantness to not want to return. The staff for the most part have no grace in dealing with customers. My friend ordered a homegrown juice - a brand we buy from the supermarket so we know how it should be. It arrived heavily diluted in sparking water!! We tried to clarify that we were expecting pure juice but the waiter just argued that that’s what it was!! Finally we asked him to bring the bottle it came from and showed him what the bottle contained, pure juice so he had to replace it at that point. It still returned diluted although less so. We enjoyed our meals and they were huge. We were the last to be there. There was a sweet Indian female waitress who was excellent. The lights above us abruptly went out signalling a desire for us to leave.....no one came to give us a polite 10 min warning - we were another few mins when the waiter came to tell us and another woman called about across the restaurant ‘When are you going to pay! We want to go home’. Inexcusably rude. Would not recommend.

What an excellent place. Absolutely lovely, attentive staff. Best bread I've ever eaten (the pesto one, strongly recommend you try this!), how can something be simultaneously so soft and yet so crispy? Pizza was excellent. Definitely recommend you stop on here for the excellent value, people, and food. Bring a hair tie so you can get properly stuck into the cheesy deliciousness.

The food was 5/5 so delicious and full of flavour. The waitressing staff were all very bright and lovely. However, the chef was incredibly rude when we showed up a mere 5 minutes late to pick up our takeaway order. She was shouting from the kitchen into the restaurant about us, then blaming the waitressing staff for an "incorrect order" that was not incorrect. When we tried to settle the situation and say we were happy with our order, she turned on us and stated that she was the chef implying she was the one to make that decision. It was very unprofessional and such a shame as it was quite a significant event which affected our experience and hindered the 5 stars.

3 stars and that's only because the food was good other than that I will not be coming back. We waited for about an hour for our food and had to track the waiter down everytime we needed something! Empty plates sat on the table until our mains arrived. Needles to say the service was terrible we were going to stay for dessert but decided not to as we didn't know how long that would take!

Booked reservation at 7pm, restaurant was half full. We were told on ordering that mains would be about 40min till serving. So we ordered starters and waited. Starters took 25min to arrive, They were delicious. Really enjoyed them. However mains eventually arrived at 8:30pm. 1.5 hours later. My steak had been in the warmer for some time (ordered medium rare, received medium well done). Both my meal and my wifes were average. No real Mediterranean edge to them. Huge contrast to the starters. Disappointed given the average star rating had been so high. Perhaps there is variation here.

We had a great meal here. Fed up with the noisy places around the neighborhood we wanted somewhere quieter. The decor is interesting and the staff from Argentina and Chile were very friendly. The menu is a mix of Mediterranean and Turkish. Our order came very quickly indeed and it was SO big, we took half home and had it for lunch the next day! I left my vest there and the next day I popped in and they had it behind the counter - thanks so much guys! We would go again on another visit to The Mount.

I first came here in 2007 and it was a 5 star place. Now.... had dips for starters that were very tasty and a chicken kebab for mains, which was quite underwhelming.

Lunchtime on a Sunday. My wife and I both had the Falafel Salad with humus and tabouleh. It was superb - really lovely meal with the genuine flavours we have experienced in the Middle East. One friend had the Chilli Calamari and the other had a prawn salad - both said their meals were great. Decent sized servings all round and good pricing. Coffees were very good too. Excellent.

Me and my partner went for dinner on sunday night. We ordered Iskanders recommended by staff. I had mix meat and was disappointed with it. The beef has very unpleasant taste, rice had nice flavour but was hard and undercooked. I was really looking forward to tabullah salad. What I got was mix salad leaves with few chunks of onion and one small piece of tomato. Very disappointed, it shouldn't be called tabullaj salad on menu as it was nothing close to it. The chef looked super angry when I went to double check if I got the right plate. She gave me new plate which looked even worst than first one. She didnt make me feel nice at all. Our waitress was super nice, friendly and apologetic. I had house white which was very tasty. Nice place inside and great staff however food was let down.

Amazing dinner. Highly recommend the Meze Board to share, get to taste a variety of things and can be shared with 4 people easily. Portion sizes were good and seemed appropriate considering the relatively expensive price. We had a large group and they were a bit rigid about seating arrangement, but worked out an agreement in the end. Only real complaint: the frappe drink was surprisingly lukewarm.

Valentine's Day is not a good day to go looking for a place to eat without booking. Our first saunter past sorry they could not take us, we were a party of four. After trying just about every place that was open as we were heading back to the car we noticed some empty tables so tried our luck once more and it was in. The waitress could not have been more helpful, she was amazing and as I am Gluten and Egg Free I am not the easiest person to please, she made a point of checking that the item I picked was definitely OK for me. Two of our party had Chicken Parmigiana, one had Borek (as he is vegetarian) and I had Chicken Iskender. We had a bottle of White wine and one glass of Red total bill $148.00 not too bad in my eyes. The food was beautiful, good sized portions and very well presented. My one little comment was the colour of the print on the menu, yes a bit hard to read in the light of the cafe but other than that no complaints. We had overseas visitors with us and they too were impressed with the food and the service. I will frequent this Cafe again for sure.

Had the bread and dips, Amazing they always are. This is my favourite Mount cafe. I would have been there about 15 times. I wish Rotorua had one like this. I love it and the coffee is wonderful I like the service and I love the comfy cushions and well thought out creative decor.

The food was average and some food on the plate had been sitting for a while as was not hot at all. Service very average. We were the only other people there for early dinner and they sat us next to a couple with a young toddler - where's the logic in that?! I used to like Zeytins in Tauranga when it was there a few years back, but this was no comparison! I don't plan to return...

We were here last January '16 and loved the food. Highly recommend the Selection of Four platter with bread and four dips. The spicy walnut dip is especially amazing. Update: just went again in Feb '18, still just as good. Had the Selection of Four Platter with Jajick (cucumber, mint, double garlic), Panja (beetroot, creamy yoghurt), Hummus, and Spicy walnut dips. All were incredibly good. This plate makes a light lunch for two people; so if you're hungry you may want to order something extra.

This place calls it self a cafe, but it is actually a really great restaurant and really good value for such high level food. We had a fantastic meal with starters, mains and desserts all being very good. Authentic with lovely flavours. Keep it up guys.
