C.2nd time dining here. The steak was so delicious, melted in my mouth 🤤 1st time dining there I had the lamb shank and that was yum as. The bread was Abit hard to cut with the butter knife and pull apart 😂 but it was still nice. Good prices too. Overall enjoyed the food. Waitress was really lovely too. Lovely lunch. Thank you.

M.My partner and I had been there for lunch, even though it was busy they tried thier best to accommodate us without any prior booking. Food was great too, my partner and I really enjoyed the food. The food and the service met all the hype and expectations, would definitely go back there and recommend to others as well. Thanks to the whole team.

j.Love their menu. My favourite dish is their mussels. Great place as well, family friendly. Would recommend this restaurant if you're not in a hurry. My order took almost an hour 😅, but it's alright.
E.Was a bit wet in Napier and we went off to find some dinner and came across this The Drift Cafe quite close to our Motel.
Has a Menu that covers most tastes and we had Butter Chicken and Red Curry Seafood.
The portions were generous and the red curry was really good with plenty of different seafood included.
They also do a breakfast Buffet for $21 which looked good the menu and had a good variety of hot and cold food. We did not try the breakfast on this visit but will on the next one.

My burger was giant and the chips were so crispy.The gravey on the roast was especially yum.We will definitely be back to dine in when the country moves down levels.Went back to dine in $15 lunches were huge and delicious.The staff were so kind and polite pretty rare these days.A wonderful lunch.

G.Enjoyed a great meal with a bottle of local Merlot at Drift Cafe on the seafront in Napier. The cafe is modern with a good selection of food items on the menu and the prices are very reasonable. We asked to share two lamb shanks, a menu item and this was readily agreed to. The waiter's were attentive and friendly and the food tasted fantastic which we were able to tell the chef. A great place for either, breakfast, lunch (ony 15 dollars) and dinner.

G.The wife and I went for breakfast. I had the buffet breakfast which was very good, every thing you could want for breakfast. The wife enjoyed the cappuccino she had, only down side was her Eggs Benedict was not good. BUT when we complained to the staff member we got a heart filled apology and a refund. The wife was also offered to help herself to the buffet. Hats of for the awesome response to the small complaint. We will return because of the staff response.

B.Good service, food was good. They make a delicious half loaf with dips , perfect to have with the fresh 1kg mussels. BUT the atmosphere is just non existent, lots of noise and not a good place for a date night. It's a pity since it is on the Waterfront , could be so much better.
T.This place was great the staff worked very hard to keep us and others happy. All the food was made very well with me and my mum easily eating a three course dinner it also very good prices. I can see myself coming here again.
M.It was OK. Staff were friendly. Lamb shanks were good but fillet steak for the price was a rip off (would have been lucky to have been 100g) - also wasn't cooked medium rare as requested. Was well done.

s.Omg this was the best value for money $15 lunch I've ever had my burger was huge! My husbands lamb shank was meltingly tender and also huge.The staff despite being busy were so lovely I cannot stress enough how nice and how rare it was to be treated kindly they made our anniversary really special.
G.I had the Drift Steak, a combination of steak, seafood and steamed vegetables in an in-house BBQ sauce. I enjoyed it so much I was tempted to order a second. Even the side salad was delicious, which is something I don't say often.
The restaurant was quiet at the time, clean. The meal was delivered surprisingly quickly - although I had arrived at a very quiet time. The staff were mostly friendly, and I intended to return for breakfast.
H.We thoroughly enjoyed our tasty and beautifully cooked meals and delicious desserts. The wait staff were wonderfully attentive and the prices very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
B.It is a bit pricey, but the food is just exquisite. Spoil yourself and go for dinner.

A.Had a yummy lunch here when in Napier recently. As well as a full lunch and dinner menu they have $15-20 steak lunch options at the back of the menu. I grabbed one of these and while it wasn't a huge meal it satisfied me and I'm happy they have a steak lunch option that you don't have to pay a full dinner price for. I'd happily return.

C.Phenomenal customer service. My parents' rental car broke down and I had to leave to finalise everything before my food arrived. The lady serving us (I'm so sorry, we forgot to ask for your name!) was extremely accommodating and took my food back in to warm it up, before my parents told her we had to take away the food as I had to get a ride back to our motel without being able to return for my meal. The food was cold by the time I got to eat it despite the heat-retaining wrapping but still tasted amazing. My parents told me that the food they ordered was really good too. Thank you for the awesome meal and for the excellent service!
D.Just had dinner, I had lamb shanks and Leeann had garlic chicken, absolutely delicious and well presented. Everytime we visit Napier we drift into the Drift. We are from Whakatane, well worth the drive. Kia Ora.

C.Great variety of healthy food. We had been travelling for a while and Drift was the so delicious and healthy. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant. I had the beef stirfry and it was so fresh with veg and tender beef. Five stars.
I.I had breakfast here from the self serve buffet. Good selection of food, only one egg option, scrambled, but plenty of other choices both hot and cold. Price is very reasonable for the location being just over the road from the beach and beach front activities. fairly clean but looking dated.
N.We were walking down Marine Parade to have a bite to eat and saw a huge menu out the front of this restaurant. I must say this is definitely what pulled us in for a meal as well as seeing the special of the day before we walked in! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the taco wraps and chocolate brownie which was delicious!

B.We arrived and were greeted by a bubbly and friendly waitress. Skipped entree started with Drinks Ordered mains ( Chicken Mushroom x 2 & lamb shank x 1 ) . Arrived after 15 --20 minutes . All 3 of us said the same WOW what Fantastic meals . Ordered desserts WOW large servings. Would highly recommend to all. AAAAA +++++
A.A good range of breakfast foods/drinks. Dissappointed that some food in a some of the chaffing dishes were not topped up. I had the last piece of grilled tomato and felt guilty that I had finished it off. That was not topped up in the time we were there. What if someone came after me and wanted a piece? Also your cut up fruit was nearly finished and needed topping up too. It gave me the essence of unprofessionalism by the waiting staff. DRIFT is a favourite with us when we're visiting Napier but this time I was disappointed.

1. Seared beef taco - tasted great, just thought it should atleast be 2 servings. Good entre anyway.
2. Chicken pasta - this one seems to be a carbonara pasta and chicken soup. Tastes okay.
3. Lamb shank combo - the lamb is cooked perfectly. My only issue is the serving proportions i.e. imagine a good portion of lamb with mash, a bud of brocolli, and a slice of overcooked corn.
Overall, Drift is a good place for a grub; nothing exciting.
R.Great bar and restaurant attached to the Quality Inn. We enjoyed the ease of the access, the lovely buffet breky, which kept us going all day to dinner, and nice dinners too. The staff were welcoming. Thanks.
