Chefs selection dinner was on point. I have referred a lot of friends to this restaurant for its fabulous curry and whiskey selections and we always visit when in Napier. However I was disappointed to be overlooked by the whiskey waiter who only spoke to and served the men at the table. When he returned with their whiskeys the guys had to ask him to serve me as well (the only other person at the table).

We really enjoyed the food, but to be honest the service and speed was a bit lacking all round. I assume that they were busy with takeaway orders as the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Next time I’ll order takeaway too because it was all delicious!

The menu is to die for.lots to choose from .the service is really great. Loving the new bar with spirits.lots of gin and whisky. Just a thought, could the bar open ? So not just for food.i feel there aren't enough bars open. So you can sit and have a drink, without ordering food?

Was a lovely meal and service was good. Tables nicely presented but very large. Can be hard to hear the person across the table if it is busy as it was when we went. Huge selection of whiskeys that line a good part of one wall. Big selection of food on the menu also. There are high chairs for those that need. I was very touched that there is an aed defibrillator just outside too.

Absolutely Amazing experience!!!! I been to this restaurant when I was in Napier for two days trip. It was so good to be there. Food was excellent except one dish ( Aloo Gobhi Masala) I couldn't believe it was an Indian restaurant , spent beautiful evening, food, music and attractive ambience. They have huge variety of spirits and wines. It is a neat and clean place with proper seating arrangements. Staff members were very nice , service was fast enough. I will definitely visit this place again when I am in Napier next time. I am sure its not owned by Indian person. Keep up the quality and standards high , good work !!!

Went there twice it was soo good, getting seafood both times. Had kids 11/15 and they shared a meal on time and got kids ones another. Good value and serving sizes. Have been wanting to some out here for ages and finally made the trip which was well worth it. It is a seafood orientated menu. The fish was so fresh and delicious. There is a really good wine menu too.

Loved this place, but recently I feel the love waning - for takeaways at least. The chicken in the kadai is overcooked and tonight although the spices were good, it was incredibly sweet.

We were visiting from the U.S. and celebrating our honeymoon. We had Christmas Eve dinner at Indigo in Napier and it was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, the whiskey selection was world-class, and the Aloo Gobi was the best I have ever had. We eat a ton of Indian cuisine and this place is Top 5 in the world (outside of India, of course) for us. Highly recommend!

Food was absolutely amazing. Tastiest I've had by far. The staff were so friendly, and happy to bring specialised menus and offer help regarding these menus. The atmosphere was really nice and chill, very relaxing. (Plus the seats were super comfortable) One of my favorites places to eat at by far.

We really enjoyed the food. We order 3 appetizer and 3 mains with naan for two of us. There was a lot of food we took half home. The food itself was delicious. We found it had individual flavors and not all the curry tasted the same. I would pass on the carrot halwa it was not my favorite. The service was good and friendly. They have a huge whiskey selection.

Visited twice for dinner. Very high quality food. Staff were polite and friendly. We had the full tandoori chicken and the bread basket which was more than enough for the three of us. We also had the Kashmiri rice and the homely chicken curry which was great too. There is a space to wait until the table is allocated. The ambience and music is also really good.

Dinner was very good, with large portions and well developed flavour in sauces. We tried the lamb vindaloo and the butter chicken. Both were excellent. Their salted lassi was generous and tasty. Although the service was attentive, I found it rather slow. Overall a good experience, and I would definitely go again.

I recently ate at Indigo for the first time and I have to write that I was very impressed. I have previously been to India a few years ago and really enjoyed the food, however when I visited Indian restaurants in New Zealand I always found them coming up short, that was until I ate at Indigo, the food at Indigo truly reminded me of my visit to India, the flavours where fantastic. The restaurant itself is also very different, it is contemporary and spacious. Also very impressive wine and beverage list. I look forward to my next visit

Pleasantly surprised at enjoying the best butter chicken I’ve had in Oceania. I have tried several Indian restaurants around Australia (mostly the Melbourne area) and haven’t been able to find a really, really good butter chicken. It’s the only Indian dish I can eat without extreme pain. Happy my holiday travels brought me here :) I ate my meal way too fast to take a photo!

I've never been to India, but I've eaten Indian food in the US, South Korea, Japan, Czech Republic, and New Zealand. Indigo by far had the best tasting food with the widest selection. And on top of that they have the only good selection of Scotch available in New Zealand (Kiwis don't seem to care about Scotch) which also happens to be the best selection of Scotch I've ever seen anywhere.

There's a beautiful atmosphere and an incredible wine list and huge whisky collection. If you love authentic Indian food, this is the place to go. My chicken was really dry. I think it gets cooked on a skewer separately and the sauce added later. My husband had the prawn malabari which was very good and a prawn biriyani, but I would definitely steer clear of the chicken. Unfortunately the ambience was dire! Nothing about the restaurant is Indian, we could have been anywhere - but I guess this is what the owner wants. To start with, the music was so loud , I felt like I was in a night club. This was changed after i requested it. Staff were generally very helpful.

This is a very lovely contemporary restaurant in the middle of Napier. It is well worth a visit especially if you enjoy Indian Food. I visited whilst in Napier on business, great local wine list and a fabulous whisky menu. The service was professional and friendly, the food is cooked fresh and to order so expect to wait a little longer than your normal Indian restaurant I had the Chefs Special Duck, very tender served in a masala with freshly cooked vegetables, a very unusual dish for an Indian Restaurant but very enjoyable

As a Pom, I can tell you this place would be successful in the UK. I have found Kiwis don't seem to understand curry in the same way, (sorry but butter chicken is not curry!) but these guys do. Great food, very generous portions, and the best whiskey bar on the north island to boot!

Indigo Is by far the best Indian restaurant in Hawkes Bay, the flavors are always exceptional, the price is good and the service is fantastic, my personal favorite is the clove smoked salmon on the chefs special menu. Pretty good Indian. I had the spinach curry with lamb, the wife has the lamb korma. Mine was great, and the lamb was delicious and tender. A note to Americans, avoid kormas outside of the US they make them MUCH sweater.
