Love this experience, staff were really helpful and would highly recommend this place. Food was delicious! This is the dinner Dixie chicken and BK King ribs very delicious. Thank you Imogen for your service and checking in on me and my partner while we enjoyed our meal.

Lots of restaurants were closed on Monday so we went to Lone star cafe bar, it’s a good location, the service was good. We ordered the pork ribs added coleslaw and wedges the coleslaw had a lightly unnatural flavor, portion size was ample for the ribs but they were a little dry.

Absolutely love this place. This is our favourite place to get dinner from. The food is absolutely fantastic with generous portions. Not only that, but the coffee is good. My boyfriend is quite particular about his coffee really looks forward to his coffee visits. Normally he avoids coffee after lunch but he breaks that rule when he comes here just because it is so good. But perhaps the best part of this Cafe and Bar, even better than the amazing food and drink, is the staff. Staff know the true meaning of hospitality. My boyfriend was commenting yesterday that everytime we visit it is like we are going to a friends/family members house for dinner. Staff take pride in their occupation. Being a good host/hostess is its own skill and I am thoroughly impressed with their mastery of it. Special mention to brothers Josh and Alistair for their excellent service (and patience). I have never left a review for a restaurant in my life - neither has my boyfriend but we both felt that this really deserved for us to take the time to show we appreciate the exceptional service.

My partner and I went out on a limb and decided to go for dinner at Napier Lone Star on Monday 11/10/21, after I had not been there for about 10 years due to the quality of the food from the previous owner's management. The Duty Manager, Alistair, was very welcoming and accommodating due to my dietary restrictions and provided a blanket for me as it was chilly outside. He and the other waiters were very attentive, completing meal checks and coming over when I looked their way for assistance even when it started to get busy, which coming from a past waitress is really important for customer satisfaction. I ordered a coke and it tasted like it was fresh out of a bottle! Every other cafe or restaurant I go to their ratios are really off with how they make their mixers and it always tastes quite bad. My partner was happy to see they had Panhead Supercharger available which is a fantastic craft beer. We were starving so we ordered the garlic loaf which was so yummy and fresh, and a good portion size. We also got the mixed bean dip with flour tortilla chips and it was so amazing, I wanted to recreate the dip at home haha. I ordered the Vege burrito for my main which came with a side of slaw and rustic cut potato chips and my partner got the classic Johnny Cash stash. Our meals were really delicious and we were so stuffed we couldn't finish them. Both our starters and meals came out quickly too. Thank you all for a lovely evening with great food and customer service, we will definitely be back!

Great experience here. Beautiful building. Food was good. The Garlic bread a decent size. Steak nice. I like the different names they gave each item.. Shout out to our server, Alistair. He was great. Everything a manager should be.

Called in whilst on holiday. Very friendly staff and we were looked after by the duty manager Alistair. Prompt and friendly service without being intrusive, Alistair and his staff kept an eye on our drinks and offered refills as we got close to being empty, a sign of great service. The food was delicious. All in all, very happy and we will definitely return

Awesome experience for us on New Year's Eve! We were served and entertained by Alistair, who was absolutely excellent! We felt totally taken care of and his customer service was awesome. My nephew and I went to Lone Star for lunche on Sunday. Benjamin had a burger and I had a steak with buffalo chips. Both meals were delicious, as was the coffee to follow. The choice of desserts was great but just couldn’t do it, too full from the mains. Go there if you want great food and excellent service!

Imogen our waitress was great and gave excellent service. My husband had the fish meal which had lots of batter and not much fish, the other dish I ordered was the salmon main which I really enjoyed. Our meals came out in good time. They were quite busy and another 2 waiters went to give us drinks and food that weren't ours. We were also given the incorrect bill which was corrected and Imogen apologised. Restaurant very central to where we were staying on Marine Parade.

I was at Lone Star on monday night to congratulate my kids start to school this year, the service there was incredible and very quick. Our server in particular Imogen, was absolutely superb, so polite, so welcoming, and so on top of it. she is an asset to your team and we would be very happy to come back and have her serve us.

My husband, daughter and I were in Napier over the weekend and on Thursday night came into Lone Star for dinner as it was an easy walk from our Hotel and we love the food at Lone Star! Awesome idea, but sadly American theme is lost on the unenthusiastic nature some of the staff 🙁 one of the (very young) managers was on a bit of a power trip the night I was there which killed the buzz, otherwise a cool place, the majority of the other staff are cool and happy help. It's ok because, I have and can get a better meal, that wasn't as expensive. Expensive prices don't necessarily mean the meal is better, taste any better, quality, and quantity for that price. This was my first meal ever at a Lonestar. Ain't all that....in my opinion. Service was great, thank you Alistair. The meal was ok. Salmon was nice. Beetroot was warm. I'm not used to eating beetroot warm. I usually eat it chilled nice and cold. It was also an odd shape...left over cut? Bout the size of half a golf ball. The broccoli was thin long stalks maybe more stalk then broccoli, and I like sift, I don't think I could eat one cause it was too stslky. Cauliflower was grilled, I did wonder what I was eating for a moment, it didn't resemble a cauliflower grilled. Looked more like hmm I don't know. Mm yea I'll give it a 6/10

Good food, took a long time to get our food though ((40mins) Childs meal arrived 5 minutes after our meals did)) as we watched others arrive after us and be served their food before us. Come time to pay there were extra drinks on the order we never had (which they removed)

Absolutely beautiful meal. Service great. There was very attentive staff and we wanted for nothing. 5 of us in the party and all had different meals. All others loved their meal too. Restrooms very clean. Good parking nearby which was surprising this close to Christmas. Leftovers were nicely put in take away containers too.

They saved our family dinner. We went and took our two young kids and baby. We were very lucky to get a tea on sunday night. Brooke was amazing and served us all night. Fun for all the family. We came here for an early dinner with the kids and had a great time. We were seated among a variety of other families who understood our chaos and made it easy to relax. Mandatory restaurant colouring in occupied the kids while the food was prepared. The service was excellent - our waitress was friendly and efficient. The food came fairly quickly. Portions were out of control (big)! Particularly the kids - but then ours are at the small end and have little appetites to go with it. And it's better this way than the other. And... the food was good! You can't go wrong with burgers, steaks and ribs. An easy option with the family.

This place stole my heart with amazing food and service 👌 I had a El greeno burger(Vegetarian) which was actually very filling. The Pattie was quite moist which I loved the most about it. The burger was served with chips and aioli. Not vegan as it had dairy. But I hope @lonestarnz will look into putting atleast one vegan option on the menu so that I will go back again 🙈 One thing that made me to give this place 10/10 is the service 👌 The staff was so attentive and made sure I was looked after at every step of the service. When I was asked how the food was, the HEAD CHEF came to see me to give me more info and introduced one more plant based option in their special menu which is only for sometime... how cool is that? How often does it happen? I loved it that they actually like feedbacks. 😎 Also the Bar person, couldn't catch his name but he was awesome in his service and cheerful and said goodbye to me even he left the shift. I felt like he enjoys what he does. This is what I love about hospitality when you are served with this passion, it's definitely a worth visit again. No doubt, i am coming back soon 😊

This is by far the best Lone Star restaurant we have been to. Our meals were delicious and I mean absolutely divine, we both left wanting more,4(far too full to fit any more in) which is always a great sign. Josh our waiter was the best! Friday evening at 6pm we were greeted with a very warm welcome by staff and barmen. Atmosphere relaxed. Had drinks in bar then moved to restaurant.Menu choice great. Wait staff AMAZING all male looking after us. Positive, friendly, helpful.No music playing which was such a change seems to be trending at the moment.. We were upstairs ( not as noisy as down) The sirloin steak was the best I had had in years. I had garlic butter on top. The buffalo chips were crunchy on the outside and floury within. Our party of 9 all enjoyed their meals. Best spare ribs ever was heard when asked what they were like. The pavlova dessert looked stunning and was. The milky bar dessert was heavenly. I had a coffee with a frangelico liqueur and it was superb. Such a positive place to dine. Very highly recommended. I am still salivating. Definitely worth a re- visit. The added bonus for the oldies in the group was the Drs rooms used as toilets. THE Drs sign still above the door. The building used to house medical services. The only entrance was off the Marine Parade. There were X ray rooms upstairs. Go for an entree and drink a main or just a dessert. The staff were all willing to serve and make our night special. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and the staff delivered the cake and sang. They made everything look easy peasy. Best food and service in Napier.

I went with my mum, son and daughter in law, and their 3 children. The food was great, with a good selection on the children's menu. Mum had ribs and we had to ask for a finger bowl, which I thought would have been automatically given with a ribs order. The wait staff were friendly, but service in general was pretty slow. I'll go again because the food was so good.

Traveled up to Napier from Wellington with my son. He had a serious work accident a few weeks ago. Lost 10 teeth, screws and plates holding his jaw together has been on soup and slushies for weeks. His birthday was yesterday. Decided to go to Lone Star to see if there was food he could manage. Great menu to chose from. Allistair, Seated us by the fire, couches moved , drinks arrived, food appeared and WOW. Superb. My son ate his whole meal. And to top it off, while we were waiting for our dessert, Allistair brought out a surprise wee birthday cake to celebrate my son’s birthday!! Made our night!! Hospitality 101!!

Very pricey for what you get. Had the equivalent of a Ceasar salad, they forgot the chicken breast but quickly added it, unfortunately the bacon was a bit burnt and the lettuce included a lot of the core. Edible but not enjoyable. Table placement tucked into the corner and neighbouring table very close meant the waiter had to rely on us to give the person sitting at the far end of the table against the wall their meal etc. Staff friendly.

I went to dinner last night as a party of two and we were blown away by the friendly and prompt service. We are locals and hadn't been to lone star before but will definitely be back! From the moment we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted and directed to the restaurant. Then we were greeted by two further staff who were wonderful and one directed us to a table. We then had Brooke (our server) display the most amazing service for the remainder of our time. Well done team! We were a sports team visiting Napier so there were 7 11 year old boys and 5 parents. One of the boys was having their birthday. Both Alistair and Corby were excellent hots. they mad e a special effort for the birthday boy which was appreciated. It was Corbys first night but you wouldn't have known that. My wife and I are in NZ on our honeymoon from Texas. We've had some questionable meals over the first half our our trip. It's only fitting that our best meal has been from a place called Lone Star! Their steak is the best I've had in NZ so far (out of the 4 I've had). My wife had the pork ribs (which I ate half of). They were amazing... They were the biggest pork ribs I've ever seen. Some were legitimately the size of beef ribs. This place has the Texas stamp of approval. Their steak was 90% as good as one in Texas and their pork ribs may actually be better than what we can find at home!
