Enjoyed our first meal here. Nice atmosphere. Good service. The fries with Mexicali seasoning and Chipotle crema were yummy and the burritos were tasty and filling. We tried the standard "mini" burrito and the "wet" burrito which comes with extra sauces and salad layered over the top. Looking forward to trying more on the menu.

Really good burritos, they are huge when you get a large. Could do with a bit more fresh chicken though as it tasted quite dry and old. Other than that it was really tasty.

Great food here and it’s actually really nice to see that this franchise is not exactly the same as Auckland so you don’t feel like you a dealing with a chain. The food is very similar in quality and the experience is slightly different. I will definitely go back

Pleasant enough but nothing special. Not much bang for your buck. $7 for a small taco or $13 for 2. All 3 of us left saying we wouldn't rush to go back and the $17 would have been better spent elsewhere. Go get a Wonton soup from Pho Viet instead for $9.

While this a chain and you should know what to expect, it is nonetheless a great Mexican place near the centre of town. Even on a busy weekend like the Art Deco Festival the service is prompt, friendly, and the food quality is to match. A very satisfying Mexican meal for a the hungry diner at lunchtime. To compliment your meal, try a imported soft drink beverage from Mexico.

Caught up with some mates while visiting Napier at Mexicali Fresh. The staff were efficient and helpful and the food was great! Some of the beers were out of stock, but there were other options of lager. Had the pork quesadilla which was bloody good!

Ordered via online and was delivered promptly. Thought food was reasonably priced and quite flavoursome and well packaged with recyclable materials. Only gripe was not very warm hence only a 4 but would certainly order again 👍

I tried their loaded fries with BBQ jackfruit. The portion was quite generous considering the price. Although, I really did not like the BBQ flavour jackfruit as it didn't seem go really well with the whole dish. It made the whole dish more sweeter. Having said that, there was a layer of refried beans which I quite like it and I ended up eating the fries with refried beans and salsa and put jackfruit on side. Overall, it was ok but won't recommend to anyone who is foodie like me.

Best burritos in Napier, as my partner and I were hesitating about Mexicali or Z@mbr£r○, we decided to suport Mexicali as the other is not nice in Perth where we live, and no regrets. Really nice burritos, happily we had mini or small ones , they are huge serve and the nachos were really good, definitely will go back, the service was really good, the lady that took our order and the ones delivering them to our table always nice and genuinely helpful. Thank you for a great night out, will be back once a week.

Staff need a happy pill. Not overly friendly. Grilled chicken quesadilla was tasty but so tough it actually hurt on swallowing. 6pm and air conditioner on cold. Dessert with ice cream arrived within minutes of main - really? And no spoons to eat with.

We visited on Friday evening, during happy hour, and purchased a variety of nacho and taco dishes, as well as margaritas. It was a lovely evening so we sat outside. Our meal was very tasty and satisfying. Our visit was enjoyable and we will be back to do it again.

The server just wasn't listening and clearly distracted, I was patient and happily repeated. Just to recieve the sour cream in my meal that I asked not have ( and had to repeat that) and not recieve the extra Guacamole that I paid for.

The vibe here is excellent! Bright, colorful, vibrant, and the food was delicious! The lady behind the counter was very helpful as we hadn't been here before and there were a couple of ways you could order, either stick to a menu, or free-form from the available options (a bit like Mexican Subway I guess, but we used the menu - their creations were likely to be better than whatever I could put together). A great experience. I felt more alive just being there.

When you specifically ask for dairy free, get take away and when you open your food it’s covered in dairy. Wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’ve got any form of dietary preference. They aren’t equipped to cater for it unfortunately. Not suitable for vegans. Update: the store followed up and gave me a replacement for free, which was greatly appreciated. The food was okay, and the staff were very apologetic as well.

Found this place by accident but I'm glad we did. Happy hour - $5 nachos, beers and daiquiris on Friday and Saturday 4pm to 7pm is well worth a visit. Loved the strawberry daiquiri. Great location to sit outside and enjoy the sun on a good day.

Traveling to New Zealand and trying the different types of food by far was an amazing experience. Although, when being American you have a craving for tacos you go on a hunt! We literally stumbled on this place as our phones were dead and had no chargers to charge said phones and unsure where to get chargers from either in a different country. Had a huge craving for tacos being pregnant luckily we found a place that was child friendly and open after 4pm on a Sunday as shops in Napier close early. Great Mexican food although it was interesting eating sweet ground beef in a taco nonetheless met my craving for tacos and guacamole. The staff were a bit unengaged, that’s to be kind of expected for teenaged girls working in the food industry who want a check opposed to actual interaction with others. Overall, good food and child friendly expansive menu selection as well.

Went this afternoon and ate in. Firstly there was no music on. Was painfully silent. Secondly the girl serving was so miserable. And then there was the food. I've ate jerky moister than that beef! But the cocktail was good!

Mexican food is better than average although I cannot understand why NZ guacamole looks like homogenized green toothpaste, rather than chunky as it should be. Not busy when I was there and had to ask 1 of the 3 employees to wipe my table. When food arrived she picked up dirty dishes from another table but left food bits and never wiped table. Another couple arrived and searched for a clean table and finally sat at rhe dirty one and put napkins on food bits. Another table was left with dirty plates for a long time. I actually was timing how long it would be before the tables were cleaned. Unfortunately, after several minutes I finished my beer and left, tables still uncleaned. Why???
