A.Delicious fish! Tastes very fresh. I ordered battered, but you can also get it fried in breadcrumbs. Chips can be crinkle or straight cut. There is only one table, so don't expect to sit down.

L.Lovely people, delicious food! We arrived right before closing time and managed to put in an order of fish and chips. For $10 we got a huge portion of food! (7 pieces of fish) The owners were really friendly and accommodating to curious tourists even bringing out a whole fillet of fish to show us.

Highly recommend the savoury homemade hot dog, which is sausage meat, grated carrot and onion done in breadcrumbs and better. Kumara chips large portion was enough for two and the fish was fresh.
And the staff go the extra mile by opening the door for customers or taking them their meal outdoors. Nice to go to a chip shop that has beautiful manners and treat you as a valued customer. Well done.

W.Massive menu to choose from with great burger options that are almost gourmet. Staff are all fantastic, polite and patient, under what appears to be high pressure in a busy environment. Burgers really are serious- one of the best I've tasted at a fish and chips shop. And the customer gets the choice of salad or coleslaw on burgers as well!
Minor criticisms are that no serviettes were provided, so straight away the burger contents slipped out of the buns and all the succulent juices went all over my hands.
But still, I could only wish all fish and chips shops were this good 👍

This is the best fish and chip shop in the Bay and I have been to them all.
S.So happy we discovered this place, don't know how we haven't been going here for years! The burgers are awesome and fish and chips are delicious. The service is top notch, where else do the staff go out of their way to open the door for you when you're leaving with your arms full?! 5 stars isn't enough, def worth going out of the way to get dinner from here!!
G.I'm pleased we received another piece of fish as the original one was tiny and it was evenly made up.
More salt could have been added as barely any and the crinkle fries are the best to choose from as they are the ones that really do well in a deep fryer giving you that extra crispy chip.
Also, if you like it well cooked, best to tell them as they accommodate your likings.

P.As an Englishman from near the Yorkshire coast, I have pretty high standards for fish and chips. This place fully met them. Excellent, fresh fish cooked beautifully. Thin but tasty batter. Chips were crispy and flavourful. Also got deep fried scallops which were also fantastic.
Price is very very good too! Great value dinner.

e.Over the last 40 years my mother has always gone to the foreshore area to get our Fish and chips, however we have been extremely dissapointed with their quality the last times that we have been and Googled other fish and chip shops in Napier. Pirimai Chippy was amazing. We went there last night, waited in a short queue and were astonished at the smiles and happyness from all the staff members. Even though it was busy they opened the door for the customers that left. We ordered a kids meal and $10 fish n chip pack which was extremely filling and very enjoyable. This place should be on everybody's go to shop, even for people on a limited budget.

B.It would have been a 5 out of 5 but the spring roll and hot dog on a stick i got needed to be cooked a little longer the chips were good and the fish was very fresh with a nice crispy batter.

In a random strip mall in a random neighborhood of Napier are the best fish and chips I've ever had the pleasure to eat.

If I lived in the area (rather than on the other side of the globe), I would institute a strict "fish and chips" weekly meal so I could visit here 52 times a year.

Purchased a couple of burgers and kumara and straight chips, the kumara chips in particular were incredible and the burgers were monstrous in size and delicious! Best value and taste you can get! 👌

Perfection every time, I grew up in pirimai and my parents still live in pirimai, 19 years now and this has always been our go to since they opened, we have since moved to tamatea and we will always travel that little bit extra to know the quality is good everytime 💓
