Service was great, very efficient and friendly. Food was just what we wanted, the ribs are always amazing! Only negative really was the brownie kids dessert tasted like cardboard. I assume it is just out of a box. My brownie loving child wouldn't eat it.

Even though it's not a 5 star restaurant, the staff treated it as such, and the food was good

We opted to have our meals takeaways. What fabulous dishes they were. Beautifully packed in compostable containers. The food was so much and so delicious we managed to have plenty left over for the next night. Thoroughly recommend Shani's. The bottle store next door is handy if you're going straight home like we were.

Very reasonable and tasty food. Steak was done to perfection and garlic bread and fries were awesome. Chorizos were yummy as well. My son loved the garlic bread. Ribs were good. My husband loved his Long Island tea… Friendly staff and lovely ambience. Must visit place if you’re in Napier

A decent restaurant but wouldn't recommend if you don't like ribs, little things let them down, too salty fries, dry chicken. Some waitresses not wearing masks properly when serving you becomes frustrating

This is my top pick for a keto or zero carb dinner out in Napier! They have fantastic service and gave us great portions of meat and some veg without sauces. Everyone was full after dinner. They handled the keto modifications really well and came to check with us when they weren't sure if any of the components would meet our dietary requirements. Truly outstanding food and service. The 400g scotch is worth the wait for the long cooking time but if you have kids with you you may want to get their food brought out before the 400g steak, you will need to ask for this explicitly or they will bring all the food together so everyone has to wait for this amazing steak to cook.

Good customer service. But I think Lone Star's Pork Ribs are way nicer coz they cutting it and more sauces on it. It is softer too.

Lamb shank oh my god! The most tender meat ever, it fell of the bone with the lightest touch. Sitting on a beautiful potatoes mash. Rosemary sauce all over. Side with broccoli and cauliflower. Highly recommend this, but make sure your hungry its a huge shank. I will be back over and over again. Yum!!!

Booked for our end of year work dinner and was very impressed with the cleanliness, service, food and price. Food was delicious, decen6t portioned and delivered to our table promptly. Staff were well presented, polite, attentive and friendly. Will definitely return

Service here was too notch! Good atmosphere for casual dining and has kids area. Each table has a rock salt jar to hold a tea light candle. The food was lovely and served in good time. Spacious and clean restaurant. The parking isn't the best but the food well makes up for it. I had pork rack and saw other meals served while here and they all looked really nice.

Went here for a family birthday dinner. Was overwhelmed with the portion sizes! Ordered the full rack of ribs for $40 and needed help from the family to finish them! Could easily share between two people. Lots of meals to choose from and an extensive desert menu. Went on a friday night and it was packed, so probably best to book!

A little disappointed. Many friends recommended Shani’s and told us how much they love eating here. Our steaks were average and not prepared how we ordered it. Staff were friendly and helpful and accommodating but I doubt if we will eat here again.

We hardly ever go to nice restaurants for dinner but we decided to go here as a treat for us all. Thursday, July 28th. About 530pm-6pm, it was packed and they squeezed us all in! The food was yuuum!! And our waitress was aaamazing!! Thank you so much ☺️

Good down to earth friendly service and yum family food.

We ordered delivery, the shack pack. I thought considering it’s local and not “fast food” it was decent value. Salad was good. Only criticals, the chicken burger was oily and the sauce was not great, and the chips needed maybe 30 seconds longer. Will be ordering again.

A very children friendly family restaurant. Nice having the kids entertainment room. Food and service is very good. A very popular place so better to book online.

The food was lovely but the service was very average at best. The ordered drink never arrived and after waiting for some time and whilst leaving did they offer a dessert.

They manage to "sneak" us in for dinner which was really good. When our orders arrived though, food wasn't exactly what we ordered -- Hawaiian burger did not have pineapple, we were served regular chips whereas I upgraded all our chips to Curly chips and my kids didn't get the juice included in their meals. Food tasted amazing though, so I still give them 3 stars but yeah.. maybe a little improvement on checking the right orders before serving...

This is my first time visiting NZ from Australia, we had amazing service from Taneisha from the moment we walked in the door until the moment we left. She was very attentive and even rushed out or takeaways that we almost forgot. The food was so delicious, we couldn’t/wouldn’t leave anything to go to waste

Good range of food. Cooked beautifully. My lamb shank was very soft and fell straight from the bone when lifted. No problems recommending restuarant. Only small issue is parking.

Right from door we were greeted with happy and kind customer service last night! Showed our table of 3 to our seats, took our drink order and soon enough we ordered our food. The wait time was only about 15 minutes for our starters and mains, which were 2 buffalo wings, 2 garlic breads and a burger. Food was piping hot, perfect portions and freshly cooked. Amazing! So delicious! One of the best food ive had at a restaurant! We had sharp table service who topped up our drinks and soon enough bought out large portions of deserts (banoffee pies, chocolate sundae). I must say, the restaurant was busy with a large birthday and many tables full, BUT that did not affect the service we received at our table, everything was perfect. Thanks so much! Will definitely be back for more!

So we went to shanis last night and had a fantastic time, food looked great and was served in a timely fashion. We had mixed thoughts on the food, between us we had the famous ribs, steak, chips, mash potato, chorizo sausages, garlic bread, grilled chicken breast, brocolli and cauliflower with cheese sauce and for dessert we had death by chocolate, banoffee cheese cake and the chocolate lava cake. Most was delicous but the steaks were quite chewy and undercooked, the mash potato was lumpy and the chocolate lava cake wasnt great. If you go here stick to the ribs.....they are the best All in all though shanis is a fantastic friendly restaurant to go to and they even have a kids room to distract the brats We gave 3 stars because the above mentioned but will definately go again

Quaint place to come for decent meal. We came in with 2 children, and the kids meals were presented so nicely. Impressed by that. My steak was cooked perfectly how ever my cousins was overcooked. She still ate it and didnt want to make a fuss. The sauce on the salad did not go with meal. Too sweet. The crispy noodles are not necessary and the salad overall would go much nicer with a vinaigrette. My partner and cousin ordered the burgers which were huge and apparently quite delicious. Everything was really well priced. Staff were nice. So overall it was good.

Food was crazy amazing customer service was on point atmosphere was awesome just over all amazing placed me and my family loved it would highly recommend and for the taste it is pretty cheap

Extremely friendly staff. Food was quick to be served, which surprised me because they were quite busy for lunch. Steak was perfectly cook and I just love the seasoning on their chips. The frape's always blow me away as they are huge and super tasty. Never been disappointed and will be back.

We shared the mega platter the ribs where lovely and tender but the rump steak was quite tuff and didn't have a steak knife to cut it which is why we could have done with 2 finger bowls had to eat steak with fingers as well as the ribs

Fantastic! My workmates told me about this place, I must admit I wasn't expecting it to be as great as it was. We had the $15 steak special (Wednesday nights) and the piece of steak that came out was perfect. Thick, yet perfectly cooked and juicy. The fries were fantastic. There is a separate little kids room with books, toys and even a PlayStation. The service was excellent and all the meals really nice. Very pleasantly surprised, we'll be returning soon.

REALLY expensive for the experience - similar prices to upmarket wineries, and the food was far from it. Steak was overcooked, and meals took an incredibly long time to arrive, other meals were nice enough but not amazing. Will not be returning in a hurry.

Came out for dinner... Was very busy, ordered our food, arrived quickly. we got the mixed grill & it Was deliciously although the ribs did not live up to the hype we had heard about. Wouldn't go back for robs, but would go back for the rest!

When I first looked on line for a place for the family to eat out on our trip to Napier, I skipped over this place because of the unusual name! Boy was I wrong!! What a lovely place! So glad we went to Shani's, it was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful, our kids loved the kids area and we all loved the yummy food! We had the Mates rate special calamari, cooked to perfection, and at an awesome price! There was an add on side of ribs for $10 - wow! Perfect again! Starter's, desserts, mains - it was a feast from start to finish, portion sizes great, lovely space inside. Recommend!

We visited here as a family of 7, on a busy Friday night. We were seated quickly and the staff were very busy and efficient, handling the full restaurant with seamless ness. Our waitress Jodie, was OUTSTANDING & incredibly friendly and helpful, Great place to have a function . celebrating engagement party set menu was fantastic left over full loved the food would recommend Shani's

Loved the stone-look feature walls and the roaring hearth. Service was prompt and friendly, the handles generous, and the lemon lime and bitters made fresh, with good ingredients. Shani's also boasts a rather unique method of burger ordering, where you can choose your filling (including veg*n options) and then the style you'd like it. We had the beef burger, in cheese and mushroom style, and a starter portion of cajun wings (more than sufficient for a lighter appetite!), and both were delicious, if quite messy! The finger bowl of lemon water was a lovely touch. I'm definitely going to be back to sample their famous ribs, with high expectations.

Great pub/casual food. Went with a group of four and we all enjoyed our meal. No craft beer unfortunately. We went upstairs to the band after. Band was good, but no selection of beer/ wine upstairs - I guess you could go down stairs for it though. Definitely worth a visit for a casual meal.

Really liked it. Asked for streak medium well, which I know some chefs do not like to do.... "Beef should be served blue, rare, med rare, or not at all!! Friendly service from Shanis rib truck at Havelock North Street fair. Chicken burger poor. Had three crumbed pieces of processed chicken, very little coleslaw. $10...burger bun was good.

Went hear for my daughters birthday tonight & the place was packed. So concidering how busy it was tonight I think they did well bringing all our food out. Even bought the kids meals out 1st so they weren't waiting. Oh & the food was awesome.Highly recommend A+

Recommended by workmates to give it a try, Great menu range, food portions are generous and staff friendly. Place is clean and spacious. Car parking is limited and very difficult to exit. Very similar style to many other restaurants around Napier area.

Beautiful food best waitress ever high 5 Brooke. Lots of staff out front walking around trying to look busy but not doing anything. The no 1 worker was Brooke you need a pay rise. Compliments to the chefs we didnt see fab food was amazing the chicken was great and the salad yummy. If you haven't been you need to try. Thanks to the Chefs amd Brooke. We will be back.

This place did not disappoint on any stage. My kids ate most if not all their food and one is begging to come back for their macaroni and cheese cause it's the best she has ever tasted. Just amazing service as well.

Family bar and grill type place, obviously popular with the locals. Food was ok, better than expected, but nothing special. The steak was good and juicy, but could have done with a bit of seasoning. The staff were all very young, but seemed to be coping.

Shouted my sister dinner for her birthday, decided to have dinner at this restaurant, OMG.. Those spare ribs.. Amazing!😍😍, the Cajun chicken wings were so tender and the dessert.. We were there and placed our order at 6:30pm, another group called in and about 10mins later we were told this group has pre ordered so there will be a wait, if they were pre ordered then the food should ready for them, or they should have waited, but we waited and hour and a half for our food, enjoyed the food, nice big portions, great prices.

Good food, friendly staff and reasonably priced. They also have some all you can eat specials during the week. There is a kids corner to entertain the little ones :)
