Very busy place. Need to wait a while for the table. Good to see the staff asking us for vaccine passes.

Amazing food in huge portions with great ambiance and I love the morning music. Customer service is to the top of the mountains. The veggie dish is super tasty especially the potato cake combination with green spinach and mushrooms. Pancake is lovely. Coffee is good and my green smoothie is healthy 🤓 So glad to be here and enjoying this beautiful moment!

Initial impressions great as we were greeted in a friendly, welcoming manner. Seated and allowed to order food even though the kitchen was about to close. Good looking, modern interior, clean and tidy. We just wanted a snack and coffee so ordered fries. There is a choice of sauces. The chips were delicious, shinny with skins on and a morish spicy seasoning. Unfortunately the coffee was horrendous. Possibly the worst I've ever had. Worth trying some other food off the menu probably. But will never return for coffee.

Seems a constant issue with NZ food place, staff wonderful but let down by the kitchen, buttermilk pancakes a little doughy and my eggs Benedict a fail with hard boiled eggs, coffee was lovely though and one of those rare places that don’t charge you extra for iced latte

From interior design prospective, The funky painting makes the space very cheerful, the dividing wall with a window helps build the connection with the kitchen stuff nicely. Impressive to see the school kids’ art work here around “ lockdown family bubble topic”. Great way to support the local kids’ creativity. Recommended :) has been used well

Super busy on Saturdays. The staff are nice and helpful. Love their new bubble waffle which is my fav Asian street food. It did bring back lots of good memories.

Hot chicken!!! Nuf said! This has to be the best cafe in Nelson right now. The service is out-of-the-park. We loved the presentation of the food, the cafe was warm and cosy on a wet day and the food was plentiful and delicious. I ended up having a Bloody Mary with my lunch which why the best ever! We loved it so much we went back the next day for coffee and almond croissants. I can't recommend this cafe enough! I'm looking forward to going back and trying the bubble waffles next time (even if I am trying to avoid eating wheat).

This is my new favourite place. We have been in for dinner and for coffee/pastries and it is lovely. The music is fun, the decore is tasteful and modern, and the service is amazing. The staff are very personable and Shane is great with the banter! Food was perfect. They serve Tennessee Hot Chicken with a creative selection of sides and sauces. The Margarita is to die for and the coffee was delicious. Although Morri Street is always bustling, we haven't had to wait for a table, and the food service is also fairly quick. Check it out!

Popped in for brekky recently as I'd heard lots of good things about their pancakes. I opted for the pancak stack with bacon and banana, along with a mango smoothie and a latte. Friendly staff made up for pancakes that were almost rubbery in texture and a smoothie with a barely discernable hint of mango, the coffee was excellent though. My companions Eggs Benny and Toasted Muesli were reportedly excellent 👍

This was our favorite restaurant in Nelson. Everything was delicious! They had high chairs for baby, and toys and crayons and coloring books to keep baby busy.

Ok - so... coffee was just ok. These a slight taste of burnt oils from lots of coffee being made - not a surprise considering how busy it is here (Sunday mid morning...) But still, if it’s not being made with cleaned/cycles group heads - why do it? Also - the guy who took my order had no idea what a latte bowl was and kinda stared at me uncomprehendingly. And somewhat impatiently. Then it just got confusing when I tried to ask for a large latte and ask what they called large? A glass or a mug, or? - as it turns out their glass is a typical nz 12ozs latte - not a regular. The general vibe was busy busy busy - and frenetic. All the staff looked and felt rushed - didn’t make for a relaxing experience. 3/4 capacity. Only saw one staff member smiling. Gotta say I had a really good coffee at Columbus next door - a chain coffee bar?!?!?! Coffee wise maybe try Columbus - you’ll be surprised!

Yo I got the portobello mushroom eggs benne and it was delicious! The food came out so quickly, and it was stacked. I couldn't finish it, but it was so good! The coffee was legit and it was oat milk. The staff were super friendly and happy to serve us. Vibes were awesome, we'll be back for sure 👍

Popped in for a quick lunch and found service was friendly and prompt. The coffee had great milk but the coffee shot was over extracted. All our food was ok, but under seasoned, too oily and not balanced in spices, heat and flavour. Just felt like food put out according to written instructions without the care. Maybe an off day...

Arrived for lunch around 1pm on a Sunday. Managed to get a table for our party of 8 pretty easily. Cafe was well laid out with indoor and outdoor seating. I grabbed some menus for the table and water carafes plus glasses. Not sure if this part is self serve or not......our groups order was a mix of burgers, mac n cheese tots, chips, cabinet food, biscuts with gravy, hot and cold beverages. Even though the place was busy when we ordered, the food came out reasonably quickly and was delicious. The burger (for me) was the highlight. Chicken burger with medium heat and a delicious sauce. Fries were nice and crunchy. Mac and cheese tots we found to be quite bland. Even though it was busy and noisy, we could still hear our conversations with out straining too much. Only downside is there is no kids menu, but we just ordered sides and that seemed to work. The price was about right for a city centre cafe, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Strongly recommend for a brunch with friends and family.

Our first reaction was of a very warm establishment and very friendly staff. The place was very busy but the service was good. Even our granddaughter commented on the staff. Then of course there was the food. We had waffles which were great and we'll priced we are going back.

If anyone sees this and then eats there could you ask them to reply to this with a way of getting in touch? I'm not from Nelson so I can't go in myself and have run out of other ideas! Apart from forgetting my hoodie is was good though :)

Had the chicken sandwich and it arrived fast and deliciously crispy. Couldn’t fault my experience, for sure would come back! Great window bench to park at and get a bit of work done before heading to my next meeting.

I had a chicken and avocado burger, the chicken was lovely and moist but the avocado was a bit hard my associate had the cauliflower which they raved over, they have lots of good vegetarian options. Can be busy.

Not only do they have great food here, but they are also so warm and welcoming. They also serve the best coffee we've found in Nelson! We've tried a lot of different things on the menu and have never been disappointed.

Had breakfast there during the week and the Moroccan eggs were fantastic, could not fault them. It was so good I returned the following day and had breakfast again - a different dish but equally fantastic. I can't recommend this place highly enough, don't miss it.

Bound to be hiccups on the first day...but wasnt offered a coffee or anything as an apology. Waited a further 10 mins for the food, which was average. Most expensive eggs Benedict I've ever had...$25 , hardly any hollandaise. Place looks nice but menu and food is basic for the price. Disappointing.

We were very excited to try this well reviewed cafe for Sunday brunch. Maybe we just lost the waiter lottery (I could smell the hangover on his breath) but service was quite haphazard and mistakes were made. Drinks and cutlery came after food was delivered and the special requests we had made to accommodate a food intolerance had not been fulfilled. Also do not be fooled by menu listing, the orange juice is not at all fresh. Some of the cheapest tasting juice I've ever had in a cafe. Food was pretty good, nothing mind blowing.

Updated, but feels cold and uninviting. Great artwork on a walled area and column. Clever person who painted it. The fashion of painting walls grey is an obsession with businesses and homes these days. Very unwelcoming.Two corners with cushions a bit more inviting. The staff member who served us was pleasant but a bit abrupt. I had a cinnamon doughnut - did not offer to warm it or serve with cream or yoghurt. Some cafes need to learn to go that little extra distance, which I am always happy to pay for. The cafe was not only cold from the decor, but actually physically cold - there did not appear to be any heating. We kept our coats on. Also, their coffee cups are very small and not value for money.

My favourite breakfast place on the planet. I enjoyed my Nasi Lemak yesterday so much I had to come back today for the Moroccan eggs. The Nasi Lemak is to die for, spicy yet delicately prepared, beautifully presented. My Morrocan eggs were perfect with a tomato sauce and a hint of caraway. I tried my companion’s Avocado smash which was served on a chick pea Pattie, just perfection, highly recommended.

I love the diversity of Morri St's menu. My favourite as of right now is the Nasi Lemak -OMG what awesome flavour and spice. This dish is incredibly wholesome on a rainy day.
