Belle?? was very approachable and helpful on choice of dishes. They were sent out in fashionable time and presented well. YUMMMY!! We were all 1st time visitors and weren't disappointed at all. what an amazing little gem. food was delicious and the nautical setting is fantastic. a million dollar view while you eat. Very personal and the owners and staff where super friendly and passionate about the place and food. The waiters weren't wearing masks. Very close seating, and didn't check vaccine pass! They are rule breakers. This place is a threat for covid transmission. Food was good.

Stopped in for some lunch while out on a ride round the mountain, food was good, my meal was a kids fish and chips, it was LARGE for a kids meal which was fine for me and the fish was tasty and well battered (pic added {minus a few chips before i took the photo}) and also received a small bowl of fruit which was great, my father who was riding with me had the seafood chowder on a scale of 1 to 5 he said it was about a 3 for flavour (had corn in it which was unexpected), coffees were well made and tasty. The decor fitted well for its location, and was welcoming and comfortable, the wait staff were polite friendly and prompt.

Dinner for two at Manous was a lovely experience. Nice place, quiet atmosphere, right on the water. Real boating decorations around, seagulls hovering. The seafood chowder was one of the best I’ve had with simple fresh buttered toast. The pan fried gurnard arrived sizzling snd cooked perfectly on a skillet. The scallops were plentiful and well presented. The salads with the meal were divine. Highly recommend as a place with a very good chef.

European tavern style food, super fresh and tasty fish and veges. This place has a cosy atmosphere and a great look to it. There are great views of the water and surrounding beach and often there is wildlife to look at through the windows we can listen to the sea and the sounds of the elements outside. Our eggs were poached perfectly!

I really liked the layout of the building. Gave me a pirate feeling. I really enjoyed the ice drink that the staff had offered. But I was pretty shocked at the cost of the two ice drinks, beer and wedges was. Pretty pricey I'm sad to say hence the 4/5 stars. But lovely place.

Real Italian fare cafe/restaurant. Has a lovely seaside ambience with the wooden tables etc. in a sort of canvas enclosure with heaps of small flags of different countries. Nice to chill out & watch the boats coming & going. Food comes out quick & owners very friendly. Reasonable selection at a reasonable price.

A more ordinary feel to it (which I like). Almost 180 degrees harbour view! While I was here, only one waitress/coffee maker - who struggled to keep up. Today maybe a bit short. My fish was slightly undercooked

Gorgeous location by the water, looking out at fishing boats, but my fish was rather overcooked. Worst was a "spill" on the floor of the unisex toilet. In their defence, the accident may have just happened.

I visit Manou’s every year when visiting New Plymouth to catch up with friends. Service is always friendly and the coffee is good! Great location near the wharf with plenty of car parks. Views are stunning with a good number of inside and outdoor tables. I’ve had the fries recently which were tasty and came with a nice aioli. Price was slightly higher than expected - $21 for two coffees and a bowl of fries. But apart of that, I’ll be visiting Manou’s again next year!

Great spot, staff were polite. I had ordered a burger and was told they had run out of salad so there wouldn't be one on the side, there was no lettuce in the burger however which I should have guessed. I have run a couple of restaurants and worked at plenty of cafes. This place was pushing out amazing fish and chips and seafood, they could have taken any salad containing menu items (especially the burgers) and still would have done great. It's better than serving a half made meal and expecting the full price to be paid..

Went there as our main choice had an hours wait. There was no wait at Manou's as it wasn't busy. The waiter was attentive. The menu didn't have much choice so we went for the beer battered fish. The food came out quickly and was well presented. It was a large serving with a nice side salad. The only shame was the bench seats were wobbly, and the unavoidable summertime beachfront annoyance of flies. Otherwise a nice place.

I love this cafe down at the Port. You can pretend to be anywhere in world sitting here having a coffee and looking out over Breakwater Bay with the Sugar Loaves and Port just to the left. Coffee and food are good, a little pricey but worth it for the atmosphere. Definitely a place to take visitors, with a gallery and Chaddies Charters right next door too. Sometimes you even got the odd Paddle boarder floating past! :-) Love this place.

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch at Manou's with friends from overseas las t year. We were all very happy with the low key, but efficient service; and friendly manners of the staff. The food was first rate and dining at the water's edge is always pleasant. A dinner there on another occasion was a similarly enjoyable experience and looking across the harbour with the twinkling lights adds to the experience

I came in this morning with my family, We had the big breakfast, French toast, mushroom on toast, egg Benedict and tried the new smoothies they were delicious. The coffees were sensational. The specials sounded good we will have to come try them. I would recommend that when you come to New Plymouth you must come visit Manous cafe and restaurant!

Sit and watch the activity of Port Taranaki or watch the television and camera that looks a penguin nest or you may get to see a big stingray that visits the boat ramp beide the building. I went at Manous for breakfast with friends and we ordered the big breakfast, eggs benedict and corn fritters. Benedict was amazing and very sumptuous. Big breakfast was really big and tasty, everything looked great on the plate and tasted amazing as well. Would highly recommend.

I really wanted to like this place as the view is absolutely stunning, but $30 for a burger? Wasn't anything fancy just an average burger with chips, I wanted an item off the breakfast menu but the server said no as the chef won't cook it, not sure what's so difficult about eggs on toast (it was 11am and nowhere to say what time breakfast menu finished) could also hear the table next to us asking for a breakfast item and them saying no. None of the staff were wearing masks? Or ask for vaccine passes ? Just was very disappointed as it could be an amazing place but just overall felt tacky and overpriced for what it was

This place is an easy five stars on location and ambience alone. Amazing place to chill with a friend while having a drink. Food for what it is, is way over priced and I'd just stick to the drinks. I had a $29.00 chicken/bacon burger with fries and you get a mountain of fries and an average burger. I knew I shouldn't have ordered food when no one else did. Service was a bit odd as the guy that serviced me, seemed to me, as if he'd rather I wasn't there. I was masked and check'd in and not many people there during my visit.
