Lovely place to stop for lunch, dinner or just a coffee. Very friendly and helpful staff. I stopped there for a second visit after a long bike ride and was given a big glass of water in arrival. There was even a vegan carrot cake in the cabinet, and a vegan lasagne on the menu. There's also seating in the garden around the back. Altogether a very pleasant experience.

Love the coffee ☕ Latest addition: they offer reusable cup for $3 as loan purpose. People can bring their cup here dirty and they can wash the cup (subject that you buy coffee from them of course 😆). It's a good way to support in reducing non reusable cups in landfill. If you no longer want the cup, you can return it to them and they will refund you. Good initiative you have there, team!

Enjoyed the delicious fresh garden salad - lettuce, cherry tomato, capsicum, red onion, Spanish olives and feta with sweet and tangy balsamic dressing.

Friendly staff with good service, just like their pizza. Authentic taste and well balanced flavours. It lacked a bit on the seasoning side but was an easy fix with a pinch of salt. I will be coming back!

There were 12 of us that dined here last night for a work function at 1830. They put us out the back where I assume would be very lovely in the daytime. However, it was cold, very little heating, and no music. Luckily we all love to talk and had jackets! The initial service was great, ordered drinks and food in a good time, and it came out in a good time for 12 of them. You get a hearty portion of onion rings, and steak fries, and a nice pizza. But that’s about it. They didn’t check on us frequently at all, didn’t ask for more drinks, and when they bought out takeaway boxes I asked for the dessert menu (the time was 2000, they close at 2030. Don’t be fooled by what the door says “0900-late” 🙄). We were told the kitchen is closed and it’s only what’s in the cabinet. No offer of letting us know what’s in the cabinet at all. Clearly they’re doing well as they’re still there after many years of bad ratings from customers. But we won’t be going back. They could’ve made a whole load more money from us. Poor management and poor service.

Have been here several times and unfortunately the customer service isn’t great. The management of the place seems rather disorganised. Has a lot of potential but just doesn’t seem to improve. Would be great to see some more efficiency at the counter, taking orders, making coffee etc etc

We have been going to pekaren since it opened. There food is always spot on.Peppered squid is delicious but the pizzas are superb.

A bit of a wait time to get our orders taken, but absolutely worth the wait! We had the BBQ pork and the Caprese pizzas and both were amazing! The star of the show was the Baileys Oreo Tiramisu, would come back for that alone. Staff are always amazing and friendly, our new go to for an outing.

This is a really nice place to have some good coffee and amazing food. We have been coming here regularly since past 3 week. The Indian chef with specs is a really nice person with exceptional skills, he gave us a tasting from the new menu that these guys were going to implement. Even the service staff is really good at their job and very friendly And trust me the dishes on the new menu are really good and innovative. Must try

Lovely place to sit, chat,eat,drink. Got ciabata chicken and brie with cranberries. Definitely well worth it. Lime milkshake was good flavored really enjoyed. Popular place busy.

Went to pekaren for the first time tonight and what a revelation it was. From the kumara wedges that melted in your mouth to the array of pizza goodness well beyond the everyday offerings it was a win. Add to that the superb service and ambiance and you've got a great night out. 10/10

I will start with the positives... the pizza and fries tasted really good and came out in a timely fashion. Then the comedy of errors started.... Negatives...we were not given plates to eat our food off. The pizza came out on a large serving plate and we had to eat it off that. Even though other tables had plates we didn't have any and no waitress offered them to us. After our pizza was delivered no waitress came over to see if the food was ok or if we needed anything else. We had ordered dessert when we ordered our pizza and halfway through eating our meal we were asked when we'd like our dessert...usually that would be when we finish eating our main!! Anyway, we finished our pizza and we waited and waited and waited with no sign of the dessert appearing. A waitress finally came over and asked us if we were ok at which point we asked for our desserts...she had no clue that we'd even ordered any. (our waitress had left - shift had finished). One of us ordered Tiramisu, it didn't even come out on a plate but in a plastic takeaway cup. If you are eating in a restaurant you expect the food to be presented in a restaurant style ie on a plate not in a takeaway fashion. The other order was for an Affogato but without the liqueur. What a mission, that was not understood at all. We received the ice cream with the liqueur poured all over it with no espresso, instead of just ice cream and espresso. We were here on holiday and Pekaren had been recommended to us.....Never again!!

Returned after an unpleasant experience while back, worth the commute. family loved lunch. Staff very hard working as it was uber busy. New management👍🏼thumbs up. My son says he'll come back for pesto pasta.

My kids love this place and so do I. The food is great, the head of staff remembers everyone who comes in and is very pleasant to interact with. He keeps an eye out for anything you might need when you're dining in. The hot chips are a huge hit with us as well as the prawn pizza. This is definitely somewhere we will visit again and again!

Small office holiday get together was a blast., pizzas here are our favorite in Taranaki..wasnt too sure about cranberry on pizza but the Pollo pizza is top 3 wow. Very well taken care of thanks Bianca!! Im coming back for more tiramisu!! if I had one thing to say it would be to have takeaway tiramisu

Really good food and nice setting. No complaints about the pizza, delivered what it said. Hot drinks looked great and plenty of nice desserts to try too. Will definitely be back!

One of the best if not the best pizzeria in the region. Friendly people and real pizza's. No to be compared with the hell's and domino's of this world. Nice setting and when it is summer (when will that be in 2016) sit in the garden.
