S.Have been here many times over the years and it just doesn't seem to be as good as it use to. Food was a bit slow coming out even though we were one of the few customers there. Still a fun little place to stop off at but I wouldn't make it my regular.

J.This place has a cool aesthetic, but it was very disappointing. The chips were so underdone, pale, soft, with no crunch at all. The seasoning was good, but there was very little of it (see photo). Needed lots of salt, and even then tasted bad. On top of that, we had to wait almost 30 mins for each chip bowl (we ordered 2) which is way too long and cut into our journey time. We grabbed a fork to use from the cutlery cup on the table and it was really dirty (see photo), almost all the knives were, which was really gross. There are also limited vegetarian options. It's getting a 3 star, and not any less, because they gave us a free brownie for making us wait so long for the chips. A nice gesture, showing that the staff are attentive and do care for their customers. If you plan to come here, I recommend something out of the cabinet, rather than on the menu.

E.We visited because it was highly recommended. The food was pretty good. The service was lackluster. I ordered a decaf coffee and was given my companions full caffeine drink. Luckily I didn't react badly to it but I have to say their decaf game is pretty bad. I recommend getting a pod coffee machine for decaf so you can offer something with flavour. For some strange reason the food display cabinet was empty when we arrived and although they started filling after we arrived early afternoon, there were no prices displayed. For that reason I would never order something from that cabinet.

Awesome coffee and excellent food - very generous amount and freshly prepared.This place is very spacious even for large families with kids... fun to watch kids playing :) Staff is wonderful and remember your choice of coffee and exactly how you like it.

S.Nice atmosphere, but really only a table service style cafe (which is great if you'd like to stop and have a long break in your journey) with little grab and go food available. Very slow service on the day we stopped, with it taking 30+mins for a B&E sandwich and two kids waffle meals to take away. A little problem with flies on the day of our visit too, which was kind of off putting. My thoughts; if you want a quick meal and are heading north, wait another 15mins and go to The Corner Stone Cafe.

M.We have been coming to this cafe for many years and with various owners over the years. The themed decor is fun and handy having a toilet block. There has been a drop in cleanliness though recently with dead flies on the window sill and windows not clean. Tables could do with a good clean as they are getting a bit sticky. The food and coffee are good. I wish the new owners well and hope they keep the previous owners high standards up.

S.This is an interesting place on the highway which you can't miss...Food was prepared and served with love and was really delicious. Place was clean and had a nice history attached to its origin. Loved the poetic writing and pictures. Plus on the side a souvenir gift shop. With wooden handicrafts and jewellery.
I.Lots of different areas to sit inside or outside which was nice.
Best thing about this place was the very interesting pictures and words on the walls. We spent a good 10 mins just walking around the walls reading things – very entertaining.
Sadly though the fundamentals of the food and also the service in general was rather disappointing.
A.Great pit stop heading to or from the Coromandel. The Feel Good burger was great. I didn’t realize it was a veggie burger until I got it but it was good. Only giving it 3 stars however as the bathrooms were not working at the time of this post. Kind of a bummer especially on a road tip.
T.Love this quirky cafe on State Highway 25, we always stop for the great food & coffee on our travels home. Has some nice items to purshase as well if you feel you haven't spent enough on yr wkend or holiday escape. Service is always attentive & friendly
R.Spent a very enjoyable time here for breakfast....more like brunch. The place is very spacious and bright. The service was friendly and I found it relaxing as there isn't a rush but truly want to provide you good old fashion service. I ordered a coffee and requested it extra hot...was made exactly the way I wanted extra hot but not not burning hot. My son had a burger and it disappeared very fast. There were no complaints and look great. This place is a must stop if you driving past.

K.What a great lot of fun this cafe was. Lots to look at on the walls for a laugh all with a focus on the name of the cafe. Good parking and play area for the kids. Dogs also welcome. Had a good selection of gluten free and vegetarian foods including delicious sorbets and gelato. Well done. Would be a 5 but found the staff a little non communicative but would go again

S.Great experience.... food is freshly made from the kitchen behind. Came served hot and when asked for more chilis, which they didn’t have, we were given fresh jalapenos. The toilets were kept clean as well. For travelers like us, it was a great relief. Thank you and keep up the good work.

M.Good coffee and service. It's good that unlike most cafés they are open till evening. Been there at around 4.30pm and still welcomed with a smile.
D.The cakes I had weren't bad but the highlight of this place is definitely the atmosphere. There are humorous framed pictures all over the walls and even a TV playing a continuous slideshow of them! A very unique place, and I would definitely recommend anyone who happens to be anywhere nearby to visit it.

R.Stopped for a coffee at the cafe on Thursday 11 January. Standing at the counter I was totally ignored by the barista. After a short wait, a lady welcomed me and took the order. The flat white was excellent however the iced coffee was nothing more then a shot of coffee with cold milk (the milk was not really that cold). Presentation was bad and the taste was not much better. Charging $7.50 for something like that is a rip off.
M.Not great food, (undercooked rice in poke bowl and the falafel with the nachos was a strange combo) water glasses were dirty and so was the table - nice big pot of tea though and nice staff

I.Great and tasty food. Really clever reference to the name of the cafe in all of the photos etc that are hanging on the wall. Very busy. Hint: Don't wait until you are busting before going to the loo.

Good selection of food. Pity Sir Edmund Hillary's quote is not authentic and where are the wonderful historical photos of the area that used to hang there? However a very clean place with welcoming staff.
I.The owners have put in a lot of effort to make this a fun place to visit. It has a great reputation and is a popular place to stop for a drink and something to eat. Plenty of parking, clean facilities and very friendly staff

K.Had a latte there today. Definitely one of the better ones I had in Aotearoa. Brought my own cup. Got a discount. This wasn't advertised anywhere, so it came as a lovely surprise :) The barista was also very friendly and informed every customer that even though the kitchen was closed already, they were happy to serve snacks and coffee.

A.Stopped on our way to coromandel and back. Both times the cafe was extremely busy. Service was exceptional and the food was great. While we were waiting for our food the offered us some choc chip cookies for kids. Amazing deor. A must stop.

L.My partner and I ordered a flat white each which was done really well, and I liked the complimentary jaffa's you can help yourself to with it. Great decor , although some parts looked a little tired and needed a revamp. Sausage roll was delicious- would definitley go back there again.
