Best fish and chip shop I've been to. Friendly staff, service with a smile. We stay in whangaruru annually and look forward to our stay every time. We ran out of cherry tomatoes for our raw fish recipe and the generous lady at skipps hooked it up. The kūmara fries are a real treat. Ngā mihi from the wild whānau.

Cold winter evening and nothing better than Skip's chips and some sausages. There can be a bit of a wait but its worth it. Pricey but worth it. Always a good conversation with a local while you wait.

This place is legit. Amazing burgers, fish is deep fried with nice crispy batter, fresh as, run by locals, always a highlight coming to Oakura and buying a disgusting amount of food from this place.

My sister and I called in to this wonderful place after rock fishing at nearby Mokau. It was a beautiful sunny day and what an awesome setting to sit down outside with our coffees ☕ and custard slices reminiscing over the old days and our catch of the day. The shop is right on the beach front and there's no better place to relax and enjoy your food and surroundings. The staff are friendly and very obliging, As we are not local but helped us locate a treasured retired farmer who lived nearby. Cheers Guys and thank you for the great 👍 service.

The day we went was HOT AF. Ordered burgers and chips for lunch. We found a table right next to the window and the breeze was cool and refreshing. There are a lot of orders placed to be for us but our food came in a timely manner. The burgers are above average and the chips exceptional. What this place really had was atmosphere sitting at an open window overlooking the beach it almost felt like an Ireland Paradise. The prices are reasonable and I would recommend this place to anyone 9.5 out of 10

Really tasty fresh fish! We had snapper and chips from sweet potatoes, which were better than the normal ones. Would definitely come back again, just for the food. We took the food on our plates to the beach just next to the restaurant. Awsome!

Once a year I make a journey along this stunning part of the coast. This store is key. I always get my fish ñ chips here and then have a rolled ice cream. I wish to do this till the end of time. The service is great and the shop is more of a genuine store. I love it and look forward to coming back next year.

Awesome food and all made pretty quickly. Just call ahead if you want to get in before the rush, especially in the summer! It has a great location right against the beach so even waiting for food is just as nice.

Had fish and chips here for 3 nights in a row. It was ok for a regional area as there isn't too many choices around the area, but I definitely would not go out of my way to eat here. Very friendly bunch of people though, so one extra star for that.
