Reviews of Ohakune Tavern
B.Apparently the place had staff issues quite sometime ago, but they seem to be completely resolved. I was treated courteously and helpfully. Price/value ratio here is great. I just completed a version of the Northern Circuit, and had a great burger here. My only complaint might be that the service was slightly so, only slightly, but it was Saturday night and the place was swamped. The sole chef in the kitchen worked as hard as he could. Recommended if you want a good burger and a pint of beer that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg.

A.Not sure what some of these other reviews are talking about, in my experience food was good and service was fine. Ordered 60 dollars worth of food and I definitely got 60 worth of food.

S.Lovely place, chef was funny and the food was great. However, my friends and I were served by two woman. One seemed Intoxicated. The other lady had her jaw swinging like a boat rudder with no captain and eyes wired by a dodgy electrician. The presumed "Intoxicated" lady was slamming fridge doors while retrieving our drinks which led to a can of cola hitting the floor and exploding all over the till. When she asked my friend for her ID, she quickly changed her mind and decided not to check. This lady reckons she didn't f#@!ing care anyway.
In conclusion, the food was awesome. And the service was entertaining to say the least. Cheers!
H.I used to go to the pokies here with my son all the time. Brings back memories. He's 11 now but my ex wife has him. I put 20 dollars in the machine to remind me of my son. Got the feature with the Chinese guys won $19 new Zealand dollars. GIVE ME MY SON BACK SUZANNE!!!

N.The food was great but the service from the young girl behind the bar was exceptional. She ran a very busy bar, clearrd tables, served food etc on her own. I hope she is paid what she is worth because her çustomer service was amazing. Didn't get her name but she was a young Moari girl with long hair.

M.Food was amazing, best steak ever. Burgers and pizza were yummy as too and everything was cooked to perfection. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, definitely recommend this place. We tried lots of places in ohakune but this was by far the best, everything was delicious!
M.A beautiful experience all over and knowing all my Ohakune school mates go there is a big bonus...bar snacks are awesome but haven't tried a meal yet as I always end up at school mate's house for a stay over(party lol)
