Delicious food and options for the kids. Our two year old was very happy with her chicken and chips (had bones, we pulled them apart for her) in her high chair. The staff are excellent, extremely friendly, and efficient. We didn't wait long for our food. Great atmosphere. I couldn't fault it.

Service was not good but the food was GREAT. (perhaps a new employee at our table) I would definitely go back tho

Pretty decent food, looked a bit plain but tasted good

Is it authentic? Do I feel in Mexico? Was I blown away by the taste of the quesadillas? Maybe not. However, it's a nice place with ok customer service and reasonable prices. The food is fine, enjoyable and one may even say tasty. The burrito could be larger but the churros and tacos are certainly enough for anyone.

Fantastic place! Can’t not recommend highly enough. The customer service was the best we have ever experienced. A drink order was forgotten and our waitress took responsibility for the mistake, apologised and automatically rectified it with free drinks. Absolutely superb way to handle it. The quality of the food and drinks matched the service…..exceptional. We left very happy and will be back. Thanks Cadera for lovely family meal.

Whenever we are in Ohope we come here! Great place with exceptional food. Plus they are super fast If you are hungry after a day at the beach. All our food was top notch. But for some strange reason the fries stood out the beat to us all tonight!

While on our mini-moon last week we stopped into Cadera for dinner on a Thursday night. The place looked nearly empty when we arrived into town on the Wednesday night so imagine our surprise when we turned up the following night to find the place packed and humming and us panicking we hadn't booked. But the team managed to find us two empty seats which was very appreciated. First thing we did was order the 1 litre jug of white Sangria. BIG mistake. Because the first jug turned into a second jug. And could have been a third jug too if it wasn't so late. We shared the house made corn chips with hot cheese sauce to start our meal. AWESOME chips team, well done. I had the triple cheese quesadillas for a main while the bride had pork belly taco and we shared the Mexican salad. Although mains did not appear big when they arrived at our table, they were definitely filling when the salad was added. And delicious. And fresh tasting. Definitely did not disappoint. Desserts were churro's and brownie. Again delicious. And just the right amount. The atmosphere was great. The staff attentive without being overbearing or clingy. We would definitely recommend Cadera to anyone in the area looking for a great meal, especially if its Mexican you want.

Funky mexican vibe going on here, try and get a table out the back in the sun if you can. The food can't quickly and was all good, if a little mild, luckily they have a selection of hot sauces to spice it up. My classic mojito was on point, her red sangria had a bit to much cinnamon for our taste. Also there's parking at the back to there if you can.

Love the menu options and location by the beach! Their food and drinks are amazing and everything came out in great time, definitely recommend the ribs and mojito. The table service was lacking, so could do with some improvements there.

Food was ok, frozen entree food put in the deep fryer and served, average burrito filled with more rice than anything else. Servers were lovely but no love in the food.

Such an awesome mexican place located in Ohope beach You definitely don't expect how great the food here is, based on location Always packed, very hard to find a seat, as it gets reserved really quick We have tried quesadillas, burritos, tacos and fajitas.. great feedback on all Order more than one taco to be full Homemade corn chips are insane Veggie fajitas are a very big portion, so be hungry Pretty sure the burrito cole slow had mayo in it, but i am not sure Overall, great service, great experience, have been multiple times, will return again for more 😍

Everytime we have been it's always been a good experience, good food, good atmosphere. Able to easily hear conversation even when the place is packed. The cocktails are on the expensive side but tasty.

This place is just fun. The food is great, the vibe is relaxed and overall it's just an awesome place. Cadera seems to nail the balancing act of casual dining while still having a sense of being more upmarket (within the context of small town dining). This place seems particularly well suited to larger groups (7-10) as opposed to smaller more intimate dining due to how noisy it can get. Reservations on peak nights are a near must during the evening rush. My only real complaints are the speed of service which while not slow wouldn't be described as quick. But overall it's definitely worth trying out if you are a fan of mexican food.

A much bigger place than I expected, but seated immediately and served quickly. Food was tasty and decent sized. Frozen margaritas always a winner :)

This place is awesome. The service we received was top notch. The food was even better! And whilst i was at the bar paying for my meal, I overheard a lady telling the bartender that the Margheritas were the best she had ever tasted! We will definitely be back.

Nice atmosphere but it's a very noisy restaurant - some drinks didn't arrive and some meals were wrong or didn't arrive (ordered vegan and got vegetarian) - apart from that it was ok. Be good if staff actually tendered the tables regularly and asked if we wanted more dinks etc. They missed out on lots of sales.

Interesting experience. There is little opposition in Ohope so place was busy and noisy.

My husband and I spent a night in Ohope over the school holidays. Having spent 10 years in hospitality it's hard to impress me (much to the irritation of my husband :-) ) But the well oiled front of house staff at Cadera and the both speedy, and flavoursome food from it's kitchen gives much to rave about! One waitress in particular was so attentive, and moved seamlessly through the tables. The bartendress was a master at mixing cocktails too. High praise well deserved.

Decent food and really good drinks. Service was friendly but minimal. In fact the only interactions we had with the wait staff on every occasion, we had to hunt for. We did arrive a little late for lunch though so perhaps the team had already mentally relaxed after the lunch rush. Either way the kitchen and bar staff were let down by poor front of house service on our visit

The nachos were amazing, and it was great to find Pacifico beer. The corn chips were so good. The vibe was good. Will definitely return to try other menu options.

Excellent food, friendly service, ice cold beer, nice vibe. For a Tuesday night in early October it was pretty busy so the crew here are obviously doing a great job!

Wonderful Food and Wonderful Service! Hard to find really good Mexican food but we found it here at Cadera! It was very busy but we were still seated right away and served right away. Food came out quick and tasted great! Would have been 5 stars but had to wait a while to get another round of drinks after dinner. Still a great experience and with how busy they were we understood. We would recommend Cadera to anyone.

Love just dropping in before the rush, grab an early table, have plates and drinks but I am THE driver so never more than one. Wish we could have a driver system. Otherwise we would virtually live there.

Went for dinner Friday night, we were absolutely blown away by the atmosphere, customer service and the food omg the food was delicious, we ordered 6 dishes they were all yummy but the fish taco and ribs were to die for will definitely be back 😊

Popped in for a quick bite and a beer mid afternoon, fabulous venue, loved the Al Fresco dining experience, top service and amazing Garlic/Chilli Prawns, perfectly cooked, lovely presentation, generous portion of good sized prawns. Wonderful asset for this beautiful part of New Zealand. Highly recommended this reviewer will be back.

A nice meal ..a bit slow in service though. I was not impressed that one man was bare chested at one of the tables outside. I found it real repugnant and when I complained to the manager...all she said was that they were a bit casual ..well that should not include some dude wandering around half naked....

Awesome place to eat, friendly staff. Excellent food and service. Definitely recommend the spare ribs for the male in your life. And if your on strict dietary food the tacos are good but you need more than 1. Small but yum!!!

Dios mio Ohope! How lucky are you lot to have Cadera? I wish I was a local just to be able to eat there more often! Dined a few days ago after the place was recommended to us and WOW: DELICIOUS food. Standard Mexican-style fare but very well executed. The squid was SO good we had to order a second helping. Service was pretty good too. The place was very busy - well deserved.

Ok the Canadian American women working there was so cold and rude almost felt like we were disturbing her being there. Her manner was rude and a smile was not on her menu. The margarita was yummy but the service ruined it all. Friends arrived from Palmy and had the same story to tell rude waitress but good food . Come on guys service is paramount

great service and food, like that they put the chilli in a separate bowl so you can choose your own heat level though could have been hotter, big portions and still reasonably priced, no problem letting the dogs join us outside

Been twice and loved it both times even though second time steak was cooked wrong it was fixed and replaced and a free beer for the troubles..perfect medium rare as asked 10/10 easy staff is also brilliant

Food was nice. I would call it more a kiwi mexican as it lacked spices/heat you'd expect from Mexican. Decent prices and quite filling.

Possibly the fastest service and the best tacos I have had outside of Mexico. I think the fish taco may have been the best I've ever eaten.
