S.What a find in Oxford - Cruisy Days Diner receives top marks from us! I had eaten at the market so just had a cappuccino and caramel slice. Man that caramel slice was the BEST! Coffee very good.
Kids had curly fries - rave reviews from both. Both had milkshakes - chocolate and caramel. All agreed best curly fries and milkshakes since our trip started on 22 Dec.
Son had a mini burger - so good my wife had to have one too with her tuti fruity shake.
Daughter bit off more than she could chew with the short stack of pancakes.
G.What a great wee diner! They have a very authentic-looking American style which is awesome. I only tried their milkshakes but I recommend if you're ever in the Oxford area.
L.As if the absolutely stunning décor, numerous novelty memorabilia items scattered around the place, overall cleanliness and friendly service weren't enough for you ... they also sell curly fries.
One of the highlights of traveling down the main street of Oxford is getting to visit The Cruisy Days Diner. When you enter, you forget you're there to have something to eat or drink because you are too busy gawking at everything they have on display. The classic diner theme is top notch and the condition of everything from the jukebox to the phone behind the counter is in immaculate condition.
You know its a great sign when even the menus themselves have effort put into them. Speaking of menus they also have a great range of food and drink options available.
Did I mention the Curly Fries? Go and buy the Curly Fries.

A.I'd give it a 3.5 if I could because it was better than a 3 but didn't quite meet a 4. Unfortunately our experience did not meet expectations. The food was good but for the price you pay we were expecting it to be better. I guess the cool diner experience factors into that but I don't think it makes up the difference in value. My mums grilled cheese came after the rest of the food and after a few bites she realised they'd forgotten the caramelised onions she'd paid extra for (but as she'd already eaten almost half didn't feel it was worth complaining about). The one waitress we had was lovely and friendly but the other not so much. All in all it was a pretty average experience and didn't live up to what we were hoping for. But it was a nice trip out and we might give them another chance.
M.I love this place! Cherry cheesecake, hot coffee, and Rock 'n' Roll on the radio! What's not to love?!
n.Nice food that was available, so in other words, there wasn't really much of a selection of food. Eg no fish n chips. It was more like a Burger bar but the staff friendly it would Great place if you liked the 1960s.
L.We have just spent some time in Oxford, second time in four months. What a lovely small town. We parked our caravan behind the Oxford Workingmen's Club. We spent a bit of time there and it was great. Very welcoming and nice food etc., then we spent time in town. One of our favs is the Cruisy Days Diner. This place is themed on the American milk bars of old. The food is fab, it is sparkling clean and the vibe is so calm and friendly. You can then hop next door to Emmas. If you want a gift for anyone, this is the place to go. Black Beech Wine Bar is good and we now need to return to try the other places offering their wares.

L.Delicious breakfast! Would definitely recommend the pancake stack. The butterscotch thickshake was also very tasty, though definitely on the sweet side. There's been a lot of attention to detail with the styling and it was spotlessly clean too. Great find tucked away in Oxford.

I ordered a bottomless coffee and it was only refilled twice, which was my one sour part of the experience, but all together it was a good time.

Husband loved the large breakfast with two of everything! Fed a family of 5 plus drinks for under 95. 00 including extras in drinks and meals. Absolute bargain

F.The milkshakes & fries with all the condiments were solidly good. But it’s the attention to detail in the decor, the attentive service, and the overall the design that make this a really fabulous place - particularly if you are looking for a special family dining experience. I’ve seen theme restaurants a little like this in Japan, but never one so successfully realised in NZ! And the fact our song picks on the jukebox played without having to pay was delightful.

The decor was done well & unique, it was very clean and the staff were efficient and friendly.
I ordered the pancakes. 3 thick pancakes with sliced banana, compote , cream, bacon and maple syrup. Very tasty and certainly filling.
My partner had the waffles also delivered in a generous portion size.
I'm a very fussy coffee drinker, usually steer clear but on this occassions I ordered not 1, but two coffees as they was creamy and smooth.

V.This is magic. Dance down memory lane while eating a great selection of food. Tables, decor and serving staff all 1950s with a background of hit music from that era. So many great songs we had forgotten. We would go back there in a heartbeat.

M.I visited this diner during the first week it opened and we called back this morning for breakfast and coffee. The high standard originally set is still being maintained. The diner presentation and customer service were top quality and the food was perfectly cooked and presented. All the staff were very professional and actually used the words 'please' and 'thank you' were used frequently....so unusual in the service industry these days. The owner was turning away customers this morning, demand for tables outstripped capacity!!

Great service and awesome atmosphere,
I had 2 dogs with me and was greeted at a side door by a waiter which showed me a suitable place to eat outside where I could tie them up and enjoy my meal with my wife.
They brought out lots of water for them too which was very accommodating.
I loved everything about this place and hope it does well.
I've seen a few people complain about the price but being in hospitality myself its not an issue. Consider what your paying for (not just the food) its about experience and I had a great one.
Will definitely be back when I'm passing through.

This is a great place to get a bite to eat when travelling the inland scenic route or on a drive from Christchurch. If wanting an inside table (booth) pay to phone ahead and make a reservation

A.Came here for my birthday with my family including 10 month old twins. Beautiful service. Amazing owners. Really lovely and makes sure you are looked after. Food is quite a simple but enough variety and very very delicious. I had the chicken salad and it was the best I have tasted anywhere! Definitely coming back here again. The prices are reasonable too for the quality of food!

N.Retro, inviting, great staff and a really cool atmosphere. The meals are between average and high prices but they are definitely worth it! Absolutely book before you go in or you could be waiting up to an hour for a seat. I had the kids size pancake, cheese sticks and a latte. Fantastic all around. My daughter jad pancakes and a kids smoothie which was delicious- had to try it for myself.

J.Really nicely done classic American diner with classic food (burgers, hotdogs, milkshakes etc) that is quite surprising to find in rural Oxford. We enjoyed all day breakfasts there. You can book booths ahead of time which is well worth doing in the weekend.

B.Themed like a 1950s cafe with suitable soundtrack. The 1980s arcade machine is lots of fun (even though it is slightly out of place in a 50s diner). The furniture is authentic, as is the signage and color scheme. A very tidy, well maintained venue.

E.I wanted to like it - it had such a great atmosphere (like a classic American Diner), but the serving sizes seemed very small and the prices still at the high end, so personally, I was not satisfied. Maybe it would be fine for some people. I also did not personally like the thickshake I had - it seemed too light and frothy, but maybe that was an American style. I did not try their food - it might have been great.

H.Lovely 50s themed diner in Oxford. Found on the main stree, the place is immaculately decked out according to theme and the very friendly staff are all dressed accordingly. The food was both amazing and reasonsbly priced. Delicious large serves were delivered by responsive and helpful staff. Tge plave was clean, tidy and comfortable. All in all it was a lovely experience and one I would be happy to repeat.

F.Not only is this premises exemplary in their behind-the-scenes H&S practices :) they have deliver a terrific dining experience. The diner is fun, the service is friendly, and the food is beautifully prepared and generously portioned classic diner fare - crispy fries, huge burgers, thickshakes. To be honest our research stopped there due to maximum eating capacity being reached, but I will be going back because I still want to try the cheese sticks, the T-Bird Banana Split and the waffles. The meals are generous BUT they serve smaller sized portions for smaller eaters, or so that you can try a wider variety of items. So give it a go. You know you want to.

A.I have to lots of American diners while I was living in the US and was very impressed with how much effort has gone into making the Cruisy Days Diner as authentic as possible. Service was spot on and the food was really good with generous proportions. I would highly recommend a drive out to Oxford.

S.Brilliant concept - 50s style booths and decor, jukebox, old video game, staff in period outfits. We have a sundae, waffles or a malt here most weeks. Not cheap, but a great place to hang out.
