Really cool place with very friendly staff! I had this massive mushroom taco that was super delicious, the coffee was quite strong and tasty. My boyfriend had a burger that he enjoyed a lot and he also got his mom a Sauvignon Blanc flavoured Gin bottle (so unique!) from their extensive shop. Would definitely come back here.

We ordered 2 bears and 2 gin cocktails and it took us more than 15 mins to get them. Apart from that delay I am happy with other services that I got.

Best gourmet burger I'd in NZ in 6 years. Pokemon was so good that I'd to order the cheeseburger as well, both delicious. Ahh, as bonus they also have Guiness, definitely a must when in Paihia

Excellent food and drinks, very friendly service and really cool decor. Also loved the bottle shop section with a large selection of wines and spirits including many locally made small batch spirits.

An amazing and very unique Bar/Eatery/Delicatessen! Starting with their food, it is just flat amazing. The portions may not be huge but each bite is tasty and exotic! My group and I were so impressed with their food at brunch we returned their for dinner. Highly recommend trying their Brunch Tacos. Their menu outside of brunch is really something to experience. All their meats are aged and you can see them in the delicatessen section. Their bar is known for their gins. I'm not very experienced where it comes to gin but their staff are exceptionally knowledgeable. They made several recommendations alongside our meal and each was well received. Will definitely return when I'm next in Paihia!

The food was good quality and tasty, except for two things: our burgers contained ingredients not listed on the menu (pickles) which I would've requested be removed. And secondly I'm not sure it would've helped to request no pickles though since we requested no mustard and the burgers arrived with mustard anyway. Given the time it took to get the two burgers the first time, we were not inclined to request they fix the issue. Oh and the chicken wings we ordered had 4 wings, the waitress stated there would be "about 8". I would go back as the food was nice... apart from all 4 of us not getting what we were actually promised lol.

Great food & service everytime! As well as the restaurant & bar there is also an in-house butchers/deli operated by Joey. His meat is the best! There's more, an extensive selection of alcohol and wine is on display & for sale too. Mikey is the man to talk to, great advice. Bad Habits also offers a yacht provisioning service, which we used. Wonderful product and very reasonably priced. We'll be the best stocked yacht in Fiji. Highly recommend!!! Bula Kristine & Bruce Fuller

Food was amazing, my partner had the beef burger and it was out of this world. I had the shrimp burger, tasted like fresh seafood. The garlic bread was also delicious. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommended

Came here for a late night meal and this place was awesome. Very good night life with the band and friendly waiters. We were given their menu and we asked, "what is your best burger"? Was told, "the cheeseburger and and the pork burger but all burgers are good". So we asked for those two. Expecting the cheeseburger and the boss lady we were served with the big fat cheeseburger (double pattie) and the Pokemon (beef burger). We definitely do not like double patties so one pattie went to waste and we asked why didn't we get a pork burger and was told that was the order. Noticed they probably just did the more expensive burgers. With that being said with one pattie, the cheeseburger and fries were absolutely delicious! (Same as the White House cheeseburger). And the Pokemon burger was good but a little salty tasting which I gathered was from the sauce itself. 4 stars because I know next time I go it would definitely deserve 5 stars for the food and atmosphere but next time I'll have to specifically say what I want. The boss lady.

Absolutely must visit here if you're in Paihia. Incredible food, we had the venison burger and the eggplant burger and both were delicious. The butchery and spirit store attached are both absolutely mouth watering and all the spirits are kiwi-made. Such friendly staff too, a truly awesome NZ spot

This place looks more or less like a steakhouse and includes an in-house butchery, but does great vegetarian food! We absolutely loved the vege tacos and chickpea burger. Far exceeded expectations, and truely may have been the best vege burger we've found in NZ so far (we are NZers). Also, friendly service!

Plenty of different drinks to choose from. Round the corner of their shop includes a alcohol sale area, which they have a huge range of drinks only destilled in New Zealand

Had brunch - it was really good and so many great options. Will defintely be coming back to try some of their other meats! They also made a very nice mocha to go with it so even if it looks more like a bar they're definetly a good stop for a nice brunch.

Had a venison burger and it was delicious. A little too much plum sauce for my liking as I got it everywhere!!! Meat was cooked to perfection and plenty of it. Partner had pulled pork sliders and he loved them. Love the delicatessen and butchery section. Great idea. We’ll be back

Whenever you are in Paihia you must eat at Bad Habits, absolutely delicious food. I ordered a Tomahawk steak, it was amazing. Great atmosphere, will definitely return. Well done!

Nice cocktails and food, service was a bit slow but they were busy and noticeably understaffed. Waitress forgot a few things like an extra plate or water but no biggie. Would come back to give it a second chance

I am Gluten free for health reasons. The waiter (who was amazing and did other things as well) when I asked for something on the menu which was not GF, offered to make me a special GF breakfast. And it was very special and delicious. Would recommend Bad Habits to anyone and will definitely be going back.

Great atmosphere,food, especially different cheeses, meats of which you can choose for your dinner and they will cook. Love friendly and helpful staff. Have been 3 nights sometimes just for a drink and fir dinner. Totly recommend 👌

The place overall was amazing! Food was great, the portions are average but the food was very delicious and well presented. I got the ‘Holy Smoke’ for breakfast - the potato croquettes were so good! The prices are not too bad either considering the quality of food. The vibes are cool, amazing music, great customer service from the staff too! Highly recommend to those who will visit Paihia!

We were recommended this place from our accommodation and it did not disappoint. The service was speedy and such happy staff which says a lot for the management. A fridge of craft beers which pleased us but lots of other options for drinks. The food choice was diverse, fast, well presented and tasty. We also bought from the charcuterie for friends. Even the music tracks seemed to be varied for different clientele. Altogether a great atmosphere.

Good solid burgers and other fancy bar food in a fun and quirky bar. Good drink selection to including cocktails and a surprising selection of gin. Then you go to the other side of the bar and see the huge range of obscure and interesting gin, vodka and other spirits sold by the bottle. Cool.

Excellent food here!! Had their special which was beef wagu with mushrooms, hash browns and egg, along with their loaded potato’s and fried shrimp! Oh and can’t forget their Bloody Mary, honestly probably the best one I’ve tasted to date! Everything was delicious and awesome vibe in there with a live band! They also have a huge selection of gins for you gin fans out there.

Good good. Good service. Only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because the live music was deafening. Could not have a conversation with the people at my table. For a bar or a nightclub it would be acceptable, but not for a restaurant where you're trying to speak to the people you came to dinner with. But, otherwise, good place.

Drinks were ok but meal was average. Vietnamese salad calamari was just normal fried calamari with normal mesculin salad and heaps of mayo on the slaw. No Vietnamese taste whatsoever.

The service was very accommodating! They didn’t treat us like customers, but more like friends, which is what I look for when I’m out and about. Food was flavoursome and I must admit, I’m not a gin drinker myself but the cocktail I had may change that. Highly recommend 😌

I’ve eaten here 5 times and each time I walk away wanting more. Every burger is phenomenal and made with the highest quality ingredients and creativity. More like a place you’d find in Ponsonby at half that price. Brunch is great too. Not a complaint but the food is soooo good, yet the music is often load and it is trying to be lounge and restaurant. It does it well but I like to eat outside whenever possible for that reason.

This is a must on your trip to Paihia. Try the gigantic Tomahawk steak or the Wagu beef steak. You choose the piece you want from the deli cabinet. The waiter kept us informed of the progress of our steak and how long they will be rested for and the time till service. We topped this off with a custard slice to die for which was served with a coffee cream and yogurt ice cream. The coffee was excellent; we would come back just for that.

Service on point!! Good convo, attentive, meals on time, baby friendly. Offered a free macaroon for the baby however, our baby doesn't have teeth yet 😀. Just goes to show the level of service. Food was good and great cocktails! Place for Gin lovers!

Great experience. Had brunch there this morning, Awesome food! Their wagyu beef was amazing in my tacos! The mochas were surprisingly very nice as well (usually I only buy then from cafes) 100% recommend! Order anything with their meats in it! SOO GOOD!

We originally went to this place to watch the Parker v Fa fight but unfortunately they weren't showing it. Nevertheless the man behind the bar kindly directed us to the Paihia Sports Bar however it was closed. So we made our way back to Bad Habits and made a night of it. And to top the night off, the chef Chabla dropped us all home! Great, friendly atmosphere, highly recommended.

The food is delicious, deli is great, the drinks taste really good but.. service is slow when your waiting for your food, it takes just over half an hour for everyone at your table to get your food. Well worth the wait though

Excellent Korean BBQ pork burger meal, and kid's cheeseburger meal. The wings were too sweet for my liking but hubby liked them. Pina colada popcorn shrimp was just very salty, no Pina colada flavour to me. The gin tasting was great

This is a funky little joint off the main. They have figured out their point of difference and are doing a great job doing their thing! We were made very welcome by Praveen. He showed us through the gin room and told us their gin story. So we got the gin sampler and antipasto platter. Wow who would have know NZ makes so much great gin. Thanks Bad Habits for opening our eyes and taking a risk with being a bit sifferent.

Having made many burgers when I had a burger bar in Whangarei in the 1980s and eaten many burgers around the world over my lifetime, I have to say tonight I've eaten one of the best burgers that I would rank as one of the best I've ever eaten right here in NZ. Thanks to chef Evander at 'Bad Habits' Paihia you'll be seeing me again 😊👍... 5 stars, highly recommend when you're in the Bay of Islands.
