Really good value for money. Shared some nachos and pork belly bites that were absolutely delicious. Great service and our food came super fast too.

❤️ LOVE ❤️ GREAT staff. Super friendly and helpful. Beer selection is awesome. So many different kinds to try. The selection tray thing is great value. Food is very tasty & once again the selection is mind boggling. We LOVE the stone grill meats meals. Couple of beerzies, great food, wonderfull people & amazingly beautiful views right on the Paihia waterfront. We come almost every week now. It’s our guilty PLEASURE 😎👍

Traveling on a business trip, I'd actually been recommended this place by some locals as I was searching for a place to eat. These guys are genuinely kind, and have some of the greatest customer service I've come across. The owner is outstanding in running her business, and the overall vibe of this place was great! I highly recommend!

This place had really interesting food options, the food was quite good with a great location overtop of the water. Service was quick and friendly. We had a lot of fun trying out new foods and using the rock grill.

Crunchy calamari, with a delicious dip... The chicken Karaage burger was disappointingly dry and devoid of sauce... Service was excellent. Beers, cold and tasty.

Nice place with view over Bay of Islands. Good beer. Good price. I had the Cheese Burger Nachos. Wife had the chicken burger. American sized portions. APA beer is very good. The Nickel and Dime dark is good , similar to Monteith's Black.. Staff were great..You will not leave hungry !

Absolutely enjoyed my downtime with a beautiful view ✨✨ The ‘5 plus a day’ burger was tasty! The flavours were delicious! I loved the branding on the bun, so cool 👌 The patty was yummy, succulent and delicious! Compliments to the cook!! Staff was relaxed, I enjoyed the tunes, was literally bopping 😊 I will certainly pop in again.

Great Restaurant on the Paihia Wharf area, great views and a great atmosphere. We went and had dinner there, I had a Medium Rare Steak with all the trimmings - Steak cooked to perfection as it was a thick chunky piece of Meat. My partner had the Pork Belly with chips and a salad which was very tender. Both meals were excellent as we're our Cold Drinks we had. The portions of the food were big. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The whole ambiance of the Restaurant is great. Was extremely busy while we were there. Will definitely be going back in the future. We will highly recommend it to all future customers, lots of car parking in the area. Come and support local.

Great food and view if you sit by the water. Didn't get chance to try the decent range of craft beers unfortunately but worth a look if you like good pub food and drinks. Reasonably priced and friendly staff too.

Nice enough place. Friendly staff. Good george beer was good and cold. We ordered 2 burgers and 3 kids chicken and chips. The chicken was so spicy is was practically inedible. Seriously! Even for adult palates. The burgers weren't great either to be honest.

This restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with lots of soft lights. The outside area was quite nice to be in, with the heaters running to keep us warm. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. You could smell the delicious food throughout the restaurant which added to the overall experience.

Great place for breakfast with stunning views over the water.

Great selection in the menu, two of us had the cheeseburgers and one lemongrass chicken burger. Very substantial, would have preferred a stronger lemongrass flavour as was subtle but the chicken and bacon bites we had at the start were very flavoursome. Polished off with a couple sundaes and the cookie which went down a treat! I had a tasting panel of two beers too which was from a great selection of Good George and other craft beers.

Breakfast was great!! We had the chicken and waffles and it was yum :)

Location is perfect. I loved the sea food chauder but squid should have fried bit more. All over it was good.

Nice location, good bar, but the food is disappointing. Maybe it was just what we ordered, but our impression was that most of the food is deep fried and seriously lacking in flavour. There are definitely better places to enjoy a tasty meal in Paihia!

Great venue with Harbour views. You get to see helicopters come and go regularly. The food is delicious.

Very nice dinner variety. The nachos are highly recommended. Although could have more mince in the nachos . Burgers are very good value for money. Definitely would go there again. Gluten free options are available.

Had an amazing dinner lastnight the service was awesome very helpful and very patient as we had a group of 27 celebrating a 21st the dinner menu was spot on and served up pretty fast so thank you too the Bar staff to the waiters and to the chef's for an excellent experience at CBK. Highly recommended

lovely meal, great atmosphere .

Had a lovely meal. We have a 15 month old and 5 year old so speed of service/meals is important to us. We arrived at 5.15pm and meals ordered and were out within 20 minutes. The service was friendly even when I appeared demanding (though not intentional, merely trying to save other diners from a disruptive experience) the food was great. I read a few bad reviews and was glad I ignored them, because I’m not a complainer and often a few bad reviews are just a reflection of bad customers. Highly recommend for families.

I was totally blown away with the owner coming to pick me up from my hotel... Immediately I then decided to eat not just drink. I had the stone grill with mussels.... Unbelievable enjoyed every mouthful Great range of craft beets and wines. The young server was also excellent, especially when you realize these people don't have to rely on tips, but I'm sure they appreciate them A MUST do in Paihia. I'll be back

Yummy steak. Not so sure about prawns. ended up being shrimps on one wooden skewer. Both self cooked on heated stone. Nice touch for the novelty. Maybe expected more for the price. Sea food chowder was nice. Sorry forgot to take photo.

Food was awesome, every one at our table loved their meals. The only reason why I’m not giving 5 stars is the selection of craft beers on tab...they only had Good George (Sidecar is owned by Good George). No local beers and the bottled selection was average too. If craft beer is in the name of your establishment you need to do better than this.

The food was so yummy 😋 I'm a big fan of the stone grill! However, I was a little disappointed that we had to set out our own plates, cutlery etc, and pour out own wine.... Maybe it's a new rule due to Covid restrictions? Hopefully it won't be like that next time I we go. 😁😊

This was the 4th time we visited and it is still a nice place to grab a beer and meal. Well priced, great friendly service and great selection of beers, wines and spirits too. Nice views across to Russell, enjoy watching the world go by.

Good but it depends on what you order. Super Salad was good, burgers look mean. And Good George Beer you can't go wrong. The cauliflower bites weren't too good as was the Slaw

Such a cozy and beautiful place. The view was amazing even in a cloudy day, the food great, the service the best. Kura (hope I spelled her name right) was amazing, a smile in her face, so friendly, answered all our questions, made us feel like friends no just guest!

We arrived just as kitchen was closing but they kindly seated us and we were promptly served. The food was absolutely amazing and full of flavours! Deep fried cauliflower was the best thing ever! The service was outstanding, so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend eating here thank you!😊

Awesome food and even better service! Hands down one of the most tender steaks I've had!!! Food was out in a matter of 15 minutes at a busy time, and the waiter (Mark the legend) was very accommodating 😊 good booze, good food and good atmosphere!

Nice venue, we had a table overlooking the water which was nice. The food was okay, but a really good selection on offer.. the Caramel mocha "adult" milkshake with kahlua etc in was AMAZING. Unfortunately the girl serving us was either having a really bad day, or in the wrong job.. she was unnecessarily rude and seemed to lack any people or service skills. Luckilly I decided to call over a young man from another table who was really great and wish we'd had him from the start. I don't always leave a tip, but Harry deserved it!

Stopped in for a quick beer before catching the ferry to Russell. Friendly staff, good service. And a lovely spot on the terrace for watching the helicopter tours flying in and out of Paihia!

Excellent food and a great atmosphere. Huge portions and really good quality tasty food. Burgers are excellent, both the chicken and beef burgers - in fact one of the best chicken burgers we've tasted in New Zealand.

Nice view, nice staff, nice food! Overall a great stop to get lunch or dinner. The stone grills are especially nice and reminded me of French pierrade.

Enjoyed a great meal here. Views are absolutely stunning. Quick service, nice bathrooms. Food was good, came quickly. We got the stone grill which was tasty, though the meat was unseasoned. The skillet cookie was a nice treat.

Went her for drinks only. Staff was friendly and facilities were clean. Too selection of Craft beers in general as to be expected. On tap beers from Good George mostly, but wide selection. The outdoor seating has a nice view of the harbor. Only downside were some unwiped tables. Maybe that was a one off, as it looked like they were preparing for bigger groups to come in, judging from the reservation signs they were putting up. Would recommend, but can't speak to the food.

Wow. Stunning views with breakfast this morning. Food was excellent and coffee was great. The staff were easy to deal with. It was a bonus having the helicopter take off while I was eating my eggs benny. See you again soon

Great staff, swift service & Yum!

Ill be frank. Its a prime positioned place. So it must be run good. But. The windows are a failure. The best view is blocked by the window frames which are at eye level when you sit down. And the steak was pretty normal for such hype. Also it doesnt mention on the menu certain meals you cook yourself. Who comes to a restaurant to cook their own meal. Also we did order a steak meal. It was average but it didnt come with oil. I needed to ask for it which isnt a big deal but yea. Also i didnt have lemons for the fish and chips.I drove far and needed a reset. Otherwise. Nearly perfect on my visit.

Evening meal on our first day near Paihai. We were absolutely shattered after three days of travelling to get to New Zealand and drive up from Auckland Airport. We were determine to have a great meal before retiring for the day. The bar was very busy and the staff grated us when we walked in, informing us there was a 30 wait on food orders. After being seated we were provided with a jug of fresh chilled water and menus. Very good selection menu choices, we had a large seafood chowder and fish and chips. The food was tasty and the fish potion generous in size. The fresh granary bread with the excellent chowder is recommended. I also enjoyed a nice iced tea. If it wasn't for the fact I want to try as many different restaurants, I would definitely be back to try more from the menue.

The service is friendly but a little on the slow side. Along with slight mix ups i.e. ordered a side of hashbrowns which were forgotten. The food is ok. The tables a little sticky - hence the 3 and not a 4?

Great Saturday morning atmosphere; great coffee and friendly service

Been to the CBK in Rotorua a number of times, so it was a easy choice for dinner, was not disappointed. Was a group of 5 and picked various dishes off the menu, vegetarian & craft burger, fish and chips also a steak. Food was fantastic and very one enjoyed their meals. Great service as expected, sat and talked for quite a while and was checked on if we wanted anything else.

Wonderful staff, prompt service, delicious steaks, chowder, lobster tail(this was a bit small), skillet cookie, eton mess great desserts.

Bloody amazing food, portions are epic and service was friendly and on point. Would definitely eat here again and look forward to the next time.

Surprisingly good food with heaps of beer! The staff was super engaging and friendly. The decor was nice rustic over the water without plastic. We had 3 different meals with appetizers. Oysters fresh. Popcorn cauliflower tasty. Steak beautiful and on a hot stone to cook one's self. Seaford chowder very good, as rated by me a guy from New England, and a tasty piece of smoked salmon. Dessert a nice cookie in a skillet.

Came here for dinner last night and breakfast this morning. Excellent food, amazing Kiwi service and the perfect location to check out Paihia afterwards. Ignore other reviews that say Paihia is overpriced - it isn't, at all. It's small but has everything you need for a relaxing break away from the city madness. While you're in Paihia, definitely put CBK on your list of places to eat and chill out.

I reside locally and thoroughly enjoy going down there. The staff are very friendly and attentive and all seem happy to be at work, which is usually a good reflection of how the owners treat them. I love this place. Thank you guys for making this a happy place to eat, drink, and relax.

Awesome eye fillet stone grill steak.

This place is the best spot in paihia for breaky food is amazing and the coffee is epic plus the staff were all friendly and helpful and came back to check everything was ok two times! I would definitely recommend it, my partner and I came two days in a row because it was such a great experience, I travel across Nz for work and would put this place in the top 5 cafés easily that I've found.

My family and I have been here a few times. They provide excellent menu items and service. My main issue with restaurants is slow drink service, but at CBK you can order a jug of beer and serve yourself. Well recommended.

Great atmosphere. Variety of dishes to choose from. Huge portions. Perfect Caesar salad and the best seafood chowder I have had in a long time.

Beautiful place with stunning views. Best sit away from the helicopter end if you are outside though as it can get noisy and smelly. Food was tasty and well presented, staff were really friendly. Would happily recommend.

When you first walk in it looks like a local bar, and then you glance up and look at the chalkboard and you realize this is a pretty cool place - there are so many IPA beers, coders from apple pear to local New Zealand wines. The evening that we were there was quite stormy with a few breaks in the rain, we opted to sit outside in the covered deck area to watch the storm. It was warm enough out there even without heaters, I had fish and chips which were my first fish and chips in New Zealand and I was pleasantly surprised at the very light batter on the fish and chips. My dining partner had the grill it your self beef on a hot stone. Which when I first heard about the dish I thought it was pretty lame as we were on vacation that we had to cook our own meat. It literally was the best cut of beef that we had on our whole trip in New Zealand. I highly recommend that dish, I wish I would have ordered it myself.

Me and my partner stopped in here for lunch while on our first road trip north. Staff where lovely and very helpful. The veiw of the bay was just stunning. Great for a date night or a family dinner. We orders burgers and they where so yummy. And so filling.

Brilliant food and great service although they come and take your orders way to fast, about 1 minute after sitting down

Outstanding service from Drey, delicious good sized meals, Yummy drunks and gorgeous views in an incredible part of the world. Highly recomend this restaurant. Such a wonderful experience.

Great little place, beautiful spot for a drink with friendly staff.

My parents and I ate dinner here and we loved it! The staff is quick and helpful, the food is delicious, and the beers are tasty. My veggie burger was filling and extremely satisfying, with portobello mushroom and beet chutney topping. we sat at the windows with a great view of the bay, right on a small boardwalk with convenient parking. This is a great restaurant.

Good restaurant, went for breakfast and liked the fact you could build your own breakfast from parts, combining, eggs, grilled tomatoes, toast, mushrooms, etc. My poached eggs were over cooked with no runny yoke, which was disappointing, but the big breakfast my son had was said to be perfect. Venue is very nice with sea views.

Had an amazing dinner here on a Saturday night. Our server Dray was outstanding and really helped us make the most of the menu. Fantastic chicken starter, lovely medium rare steak, and all the trimmings. Highly recommend visiting for a very enjoyable night.

Simply amazing meal. This is the best place to eat. Way way more than pub food, but yes beautiful craft beer. My husband had smoked braised pork belly.. Fantastic. But i asked and was allowed to order of the breakfast menu. Humble lambs fry, elevated in flavour that would easily be served in any top restaurant ~the food is so good and the portion sizes are very generous. And i havent mentioned the wait staff. Service is 10/10.

Service took to long. We had to get grab our own menus from the bar and order while other table were waited on expect ours.

The wait for our food was excessive, well over 30 mins, had to ask at the bar to check they hadn't forgotten us. The beer I had was tasty, Good George Fizzy Ale. We ordered salads as mains for lunch which I felt were either small or over priced ($23). The pear & walnut salad had only 4 wafer thin slices of pear. On the positive side, the location is lovely and the food was really enjoyable. And friendly service.

Considering there was 16 of us that rocked up for a pre-wedding-day, boys dinner. CBK were very accommodating. Drinks were served and dinner came in a timely manner. We all walked out pretty happy. So you get 5 stars.

Sat outside on a windy day, it was cold. Doors unable to be closed because it is a public walkway. Inside was also cold as their doors in there were also open to the wind. $14.95 for fish n chips a bit overpriced for what you get, and they were greasy. Seafood chowder was nice. We went elsewhere for coffee because it was so cold!

Went for dinner and was very satisfied over all. Staff were friendly,very accomadating and gave very good service. The meals and drinks arrived promptly. Not a beer drinker but the selection of ciders was very good and well priced. Meals were very generous sized .i had fish and chips which was tasty but just a tad greasy on the fish .I'm a slow eater so could have had something to do with it as well. Daughter had lamb salad which she thought was ok but could have had better dressing. Seemed to have plenty of lamb though and the piece i had was very tender and i thought very good. For dessert we shared the skillet cookie which was different and a nice dessert to finish with. There are great views from the verandah and the lighting inside and out is very funky and makes for a great atmosphere. The staff seem mostly travelers but seemed happy to make the visit as good as possible. Overall experience was very good and enjoyable. Would be nice to just sit on the balcony and watch the sun drop over a drink as well. 8/10

We had a super friendly waiter (thanks again Dre!) and the food was delicious! Also it was so stuffing, we couldn't finish it - to be honest, we had a starter (Bao Buns, highly recommended!) and a burger, way to much for us. Yes, the food did take long (starter was at our table fast, then it took another 30mins) but we knew it from the other comments so we were fine. All in all the best food we had so far. Oh and the Ginger and Lime Cider was tasty too!

I had two times meat (beef & lamb) on the Stone grill. Just perfect - and fun, as you grill the meat, as You like it. Very recommandable. The serfice is very friendly and the restaurant /bar very cosy- with a stunning view into the harbour /Islands.

Three days in Paihia, had two dinners here at CBK great beer and good meals, thoroughly recommend it.

We had family friends from overseas and were that typical annoying table. 'no tomato' 'gluten free' etc etc. They handled us superbly and could engage in some light humour. The burgers were huge and delicious. My only suggestion is for the alcoholic milkshakes, to be listed under cocktails or alike. As we were expecting a larger quantity of beverage, not to be served in a cocktail glass. But honestly no big deal as they didn't disappoint. It's a very nice venue and honestly recommended to give it a go!

The lamb duo Stone grill was awesome

We chose this restaurant because I have Coeliacs and they had several items on their stone grill menu marked as GF. I discussed GF aspects in detail with the waiter before ordering, however 5 minutes after starting my meal the waiter came out and asked me to stop eating because they didnt know if some of the ingredients were gluten free. So full marks for coming and informing me, however the damage was probably already done. No restaurant show label a menu item as gluten free unless they are 100% confident that all ingredients are GF. Very dissappointing. Apart that food and atmosphere was great.
