There is a nice view of the beach and water from the restaurant and the staff was very nice - though they kind of had to be. I'm not one to complain about food, but one of the curries we ordered tasted extremely salty. We mentioned this to the server who quickly and without hesitation took it back to make it better. The thing is, when it came back it still tasted really salty. When we paid, we were given a good discount due to the food, and for that reason I might give it another go next time I'm in Paihia. I'm hopeful it was just an off day - but the staff were great about it so that is a big plus. Another big plus - the robot that delivers your food. I've never seen that before!

Having a robot serving our food was a whole new experience. Not altogether that fantastic as we still like the personal service of caring staff but I assume it has to do with Covid and social distancing. The food we ordered was absolutely delicious; fried snapper in a sweet sour sauce, a mixed seafood dish and stir fried beef. Finger licking good. But, half of the dishes were served way before the rest, so one of us had to start eating (or it would get cold) while tho others waited and waited. Quite awkward for all of us. We enjoyed the scenery, waterfront evening sky and a happy crowd. Seeing the restaurant full plus a line of waiting people outside was very uplifting. So book in advance. And be aware, on most tables there were takeaway menus. Push them out of the way and get the in-house menus otherwise you might find yourself wondering why your bill is higher than expected.

The customer service and food was great! After having a bad experience at the restuarant we had booked this evening we tried to get a table here. Even though the kitchen was due to close they accommodated us with great service. The food was delicious and the portions large. It was great value for money. I highly recommend this place.

Arrived from Auckland haven’t been for 20 years my wife being Thai wanted good Thai Food, so happy we found this place. Wonderful atmosphere staff greeted and pleased to see us. The food was just authentic and tasty with very generous portions. Take the kids a Robot delivers the food to the table contactless, such a great experience. The menu has great variety and prices med but value for money. We also had friends with us and all four of us had fabulous food and we had a lovely evening. Thanks to the staff making our first night in Paihia a great experience

Good food & experience. Green curry & Pad Thai were very good, steamed fish was also delicious. Service was quick but it was a Tuesday (quiet). Staff were friendly. We arrived with only modest expectations, but Green's surpassed the last few Thai restaurants we have tried in Auckland and we left pleasantly surprised.

Greens Indian- Since moving to Paihia 2 years ago I have eaten regularly here. Having lived in India I am very familiar with the different Indian regional cuisines and I have tried several different dishes here. All have been outstanding, as have the breads and rice. I would thoroughly recommend.

They have the cool robot that will deliver your order but the service was slow. I ordered the panang red curry it was very salty. I ended up returning, it the manager was very apologetic and give me a new one but still too salty he ended up giving us 15% discount. Staff are nice and accommodating.

This is two restaurants one Thai and one Indian cuisine.. I have been ordering from the Thai restaurant... I had the Golden Bags and the seafood with oyster sauce and rice. I give this place a 4 because its very expensive, but the meals are a nice size. One thing was that one of the fish bits in the dish tasted off.. also the little salad that comes with the Golden Bags was obviously just for decoration because it was not fresh... id say if you want meaty Golden or money bags these are not.. mostly full of vegetables.. the staff are really friendly though. Wish there were thai servers as well.. make it a bit more authentic. Otherwise nice food overall and a nice treat every now and then 😌

Met friends here for a 60th birthday celebration. Restaurant was full and noisy. Hard to have conversation. Appetizers came out in good time and were very good. Main meal took along time to come and I put that down to the fact of a full house. My meal of medium hot fried rice with seafood was too hot for my pallette. The seafood was scarce, 3 shrimp tails, 2 pieces of fish and to scallops. I will go again to see if the experience is better next time

Great communication skills! They have a bunch of friendly and welcoming crew. Also, food is not too expensive. Green curry is highly recommended, it’s yummy.

Cannot recommend enough. First night here we tried their Thai, second night their Indian. Both just AMAZING! Staff are all so friendly and super easy to talk to. They have separate chefs for their different cuisines, and honestly can tell- both are perfected. Cause honestly if you’re in a group going to a restaurant, chances are you don’t all want the same cuisines. And their different menus really diversify it. They have amazing takeaway options as well. MUST GO!!!!!

A great experience with beautiful food and service. Kattybot (the robotic waitress) was most efficient in brining our food and clearing away our empty plates. Our 4yo grandson was fascinated with it. The owners were very friendly and they took us next door to their Thai Restaurant to show us their three other bots. Thanks Vikas. A must visit if you are in Paihia.

The food deserve 5 stars no doubt. Larger portions, excellent thai taste and would go there again for sure just for the food. 0 stars for the staff and customer service. The lady at the reception probably was having the worst day in her life so forgot that she can smile too sometimes and in our entire stay we had to tolerate her Grumpy actions, probably she hate customers coming in, lazy as.. we were waiting to place our order while the floor was only 1/4th full.Two guys behind the reception only knew how to take orders and how to operate the till, they were too busy to care for their customers discussing and arranging their next order/business plans or probably you get special treatment if you are white skin because the table next to us was having an awesome time compared to us. Dear reception staff at Green's, please take care of your customers, we dont come to check how grumpy u r, wear some clean and neat clothes that suits ur restaurant instead of old, faded t shirts and hair not tied properly, speak politely, mind your language and tone you speak as your restaurant is not a gas station. Hats off to the chefs and see you guys next time!

Came here because craved for something Asian around here. The service was good and the ambiance too. Had the sweet chili snapper and the chicken saag. The saag was average, I think lack in a bit of creaminess and flavour. The garlic naan also lacked a little garlic flavour, however the Thai snapper dish made up for all of that. The fish was very well cooked, crispy on the outside and the right texture in the inside. The sauce pairs very well and this was quite a big fish for 2 people. Would come back again just to order this amazing dish again.

The butter chicken sauce is ALWAYS sour like it's overloaded with preservatives. I live in Paihia & wish it was like Kawakawa &/or Kerikeri Indian takeaways. 🇮🇳 Thx, but no thanks to the offer. I'll keep driving 47.4km to Kerikeri return & get a "normal kiwi butter chicken". I've upped your review to 5 ☆ .cos of the offer.

I first visit here many years ago when i was last in Paihia and its great to come back to eat here. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner and staff. I love the fact that they have 2 menu's. Great Thai cuisine, we came 4 years ago and dined here twice, now that we're back in Paihia we came again and found everything as awesome as we remembered it. They have a very refreshing Thai beer. Ordered online which was super easy. And there was a timer for when the food would be ready. I arrived and there was a long queue at the door of people wanting to dine in. I waited outside expecting them to call out orders when they were ready but no one did. Maybe when meals are ready you can walk it to the window to call out. We visited the Thai restaurant on 2 occasions in past fortnight. We liked the food but didn't love it. Fish on first occasion was strong and got one of the mains wrong on the second occasion. While they quickly put things right it was a downer on the overall result. Menu cards are tired and need replacing and the cushions could do with a clean. I ordered the butter chicken and overall it was quite nice. Although bits of the rice were crunchy? The butter chicken had good flavors but it was not your regular butter chicken. Asked a couple of locals where to eat in Paihia and they both said Greens without hesitation. We went to the Thai side and the food was nice and well priced. Would most likely come back again. Only bit of feedback for the restaurant would be might be worth having more than one high chair! The poor waitress had to go next door to try and find the one they share between the two restaurants.

Great food - very tasty and appropriately spiced to suit our tastes and heaps of it. My chef's special seafood dish was packed with a good variety (squid, scallops, mussels, prawns and fish) as well as plenty of vegetables. The service was also amazing - prompt and friendly.

We placed our order something went wrong between our order and the Kitchen only 3 dishes arrived !. I suspect the table behind us had a larger group and the waiter was more interested in them as he kept looking over there while taking our order. We all left hungry. Food was average tofu dish was not good tasted rubbery. The Manager/Owner did apoligise and gave us a discount on the total bill. Good Restaurants read out their order back to the customer perhaps you should implement that in the training. I don't think we will come back

An excellent experience! By far some if the best thai and Indian food we've ever had, better than many places in Auckland. My boyfriend and I came here two nights in a row during our two night stay in Paihia. We highly recommend the Massaman's lamb curry. The owner gives the best recommendations - can't go wrong! Location and service were great, but food was disappointing. Butter chicken looked like made with canned tomato sauce and some random spices. Naan bread was dry. They have a huge menu, so it's hard to believe they can prepare the dishes fresh as it comes so fast. Would understand if it was a takeaway, but very pricy for what it is.

Ate at the Thai restaurant. Mussels were just ok. Not hot, needed a little more sauce. Fish didn’t seem to be freshest. Beef a little dry. Tom yum soup was very good. Yellow curry was delicious, but not a great range of veges. Carrots, one small piece of broccoli, and lots of potato, some undercooked. Tofu is the fried kind that is added to dishes to dishes Mains are around $18-25.

I went to the Thai half of this restaurant yesterday for a special occassion. We had a seat by the window, our waitress, who we have had before,was friendly and even adjusted my mother's entree to suit her palette. Brilliant location facing the beautiful bay. We had booked our table for 7.30, but got served after a wait of 40 mins. The owner claimed that it was due to kitchen being busy. He was kind enough to make it up with some veg spring rolls. I ordered a pad thai and cashew stir fry rice for my wife. Spice level at just hot was equal to extra hot, so be wary of it. Although my wife order mild spice level, the dish served was extra spicy. I feel there may have been some mistake while taking order. It had to replaced with a lesser one. If i go there next time would certainly order lessen spice and would prefer to book a table after 8:15 pm as it would be less busier.

What makes it especially interesting is that they have two separate menus... Indian and Thai. Both cuisines have authentic flavours. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in quite late this evening. However they were happy to seat us. My wife and I ordered vegetarian options. The appetizer was delicious and the food was seasoned so well that I was surprised they had salt and pepper on the table as none was needed! Super friendly staff and we got our food quickly. Greens Indian Restaurant (Beside Thai restaurant) Beautiful Goan Fish curry, Saag Aloo amazing, tender chicken tandoori for my wife, wheat roti also delicious. Highly recommended. Tip: Tell the waitress/ waiter if you want food bought out together otherwise some of the dishes are assumed to be starters and not served with the dish you intended to eat it with.

My husband and I both had delicious curries here 27/12/17, the flavours were amazing and the food came out hot and spicy and quick once we placed the order. The restaurant was very busy and under pressure in the heat, but they managed to get us a table with a half hour wait. The manager was working very hard to satisfy everyone waiting and was very pleasant and smiley. If you are patient and don't mind the heat of the restaurant when they are busy this is a great place to eat a curry.

Walked in and was straight away welcomed by the owner. Very nice establishment and staff are welcoming had no wait on a table. On 24th Jan- we did take takeaway at around 10pm and food was good. Just don't eat dal tadka as it was extremely different then normal ones. On 25th Jan- we again did take away if india food and it took them 1hr and 10 mins to deliver our order. When we checked twice we were told yes it coming ... coming and no apology. Simply offered us 10% off due to huge delay. Absolutely nightmare in terms of service.

So lovely! The man at the counter (manager maybe?) was super helpful in pointing out all of the dishes that could be made vegan for me (so many options!!!) and made notes on every item he put through to tell the chefs how to make it vegan. We ordered four curries, two naan and a whole heap of rice which fed 4 people for two meals and it cost less than $80 which is so good for the huge amount of food! Only took half an hour to prepare even though the restaurant was packed and most importantly, the food was delicious! I highly recommend this place, a true gem in the Bay Of Islands!

Fantastic views of Paihia accompanied with average quality of food. We ordered 3 entrées and 3 mains of the Indian menu. The seekh kebab and chicken tikka were very dry and it felt like they had been left out before being served to us. The mains were better than expected given how the entrées went. We arrived and the place was packed on 4/1/17 we waited 15 minutes and finally got a table we was a little apprehensive about going due to some of the other reviews but we thought let's give it a go. We was very lucky by the sounds of things as we was in and out within an hour but some others where not so lucky one lady waited an hour and a half and she did not even get asked for her food order, in that time. Our food was really tasty. But the manager really wanted to know if our food was good. A group of 4 walked out and didn't pay for there food either while we was in there. Bottom line is when they are busy the manager just has to be more realistic with times for tables. The staff don't really know how to talk to the guests either training is definitely a must. 3 stars is just because the food was good. Would not go back again because it was so rush rush and I felt I had to leave for the next people to take our table.

The food here was great but the service was not up to much. We were waiting over between sitting down and our food arriving. We brought our own wine but when i ordered a drink from the bar, that took 20 minutes or so. As I say, the food, when it arrived, was delicious and everyone was happy with it. Green's was recommended by our guide. and delivered with excellent food and quick pleasant service. I had a Thai red curry with nice heat, my husband liked his Indian butter chicken. We sat between two tables of locals who said it was one of their favorites. We were in a side porch room and we're very comfortable, though the main room felt a little warm and close. They also have the possibility of good views of the bay that are necessary to view through a lattice. If you are looking for excellent reasonable food try Green's if you are looking for a special atmosphere not so much.

Cozy little restaurant with a nice waterfront view but it can get packed so make sure to book a table ahead during the peak season or when you come with a few more people otherwise you will wait a long time and might be disappointed. Tried mainly their indian dishes (vegeterian dishes as well as meat and fish) and was always happy. Didn't really like the Pad Thai too much that I had once, but I might be a bit spoiled with this particular dish.
