P. M.Very good tapas place. Food was yummy. The oyster sampler was divine. The atmosphere was perfect. The only downside was the wind kept knocking the side curtain. The loud bang every so often was very distracting.
J. T.Absolutely awesome place with great food! Seen all the reviews, herd great things from locals and from whangarei people to come here. We turned up on our escooters and we could put them inside while we sat in. Awesome live music, great vibe, friendly and helpful staff, met some people who also came because of the reviews, definitely didn't disappoint. Favourite was the oysters, specifically the boss and Japanese oysters, had to get some to takeaway. We will be back to try more food.

C. K.We were so stocked about this restaurant that was actually recommended by Kerikeri locals. The live performers enhanced the vibe at the bar, many people were in a happy mood to dance. More importantly, this is a dog friendly bar (yay for pawrents). The food, omg, it’s sooooo good!!! I never had raw oysters platter that’s presented by different cultures’ cuisine.

This has brought the oysters tasting to next level!!!
Other dishes we had were amazing also such as whiskey fried chicken, wagyu, tacos etc.
They made yummy cocktails as well and presented beautifully!
This is a must visit bar if you visit Paihia!!!!!

Everything came in pairs which was great for 2 of us. It was pretty good value for money at just over $100 with a couple of beers and a gin. We felt some of the food could have been more flavorsome (Spicer and deff some salt and pepper) but other than that.....a pretty good experience.

Note: the chef has a lot of talent and is given the freedom to create which translates to a great menu which often sees changes and new options every couple of months!

F. N.I think they are struggling with their own success. Great atmosphere. Family friendly. Dog friendly. Waiting staff friendly. But the kitchen was slow with meals. C. E.Tipsy Oyster is truely a hidden gem. Had dinner for 2 from the tapas and sides menu + oysters (of course) and we left being very much satisfied.
Edit: came back the following night for Wagyu burger, cocktails, oysters and a Wagyu with truffle oil infused mash tapas dish. It seems you can't miss-order. Everything is good.
The menu changes monthly according to season & inspiration. We were lucky enough to be served by the head chef and so got some neat recommendations and background on his inspiration.
The local favourite is the Duck Pancakes (crepe). It can't easily be described but they can't cycle or out of the menu otherwise the locals complain - it is a must try.
A lot of thought has been put into the cocktail menu. There are many pages of menu dedicated to cocktails. They specialise in Tequila.
Everything on the menu seemed delicious. I saw some others order a main which looked decent.
The only disappointment was the creme brulee was not torched so did not have the crispy skin but it was still good.
L.Just had my 50th at Tipsy Oyster. Love & his staff are absolutely outstanding with providing amazing service & looking after their customers. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, they set the scene & a great party was had by all. The food is always incredibly tasty. Thanks again Tipsy Team. Highly recommend checking this place out LM❤

s. c.Vibrant little quirky place tucked away in Paihia. We tried their mix platter of oysters and the Vietnamese soy oyster was Devine. The signature dish was so yummy, I loved my cocktail as well.
The staff were very warm and welcoming, the service was excellent. A nice atmosphere, and lucky for us, it was busy but not crowded.

Highlights were the chicken, spicy dorito oysters and beef tacos. Flavours were amazing and so creative. Honestly wanted to order one of everything just to see what else they had come up with. MUST TRY.

I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Try the peated Amrut and the brilliant espresso martini. If I could give this six stars I would. Can't wait to come back.

D. N.This is a hidden gem. We were tumbling on this place by accident after a long day at the beach and oysters + beers sounded nice. To our surprise, the place has such a fun ambiance and menu. The foods were so yummy. We had the Korean Wings, loaded fries and a dozen of oysters to try out. My favorite were the devil’s cut oysters. The service were great as well with great choice of music.

Every time I am up this way I make a point of having dinner here! If you have not been yet GO but call to make a reservation because they are that good, they are that busy.

A. F.Cocktails were amazing, the girl working NY eve is very talented and worth her weight in gold.
The food was a bit average:
Bao Buns - quite nice, a lot of flavour
Flatbread - a bit flavourles, hummus is an all around favorite if it's done right so
Cauliflower - just a large chunk of Cauliflower covered in sticky sauce which wasn't very pleasant.
Jalapeño bites - lacked seasoning but nice texture
Japanese Whisky marinated Beef - it doesn't specify it's a taco. The beef itself was pretty good.
Presentation and the flavor of the food could be better based on their prices and some of the staff, could be a bit nicer. A few times it felt like we were bothering them when we just wanted to place an order for food as noone came to see us.
Would return for the atmosphere and the drinks.

Some of the best good we've ever eaten, and the staff were really friendly too.
The honey Chili chips were so delicious, we'd happily come back just for them.
We ordered a sensible amount of food originally but it tasted so good we had to order more and ended up stuffing ourselves silly.
We also had a selection of oysters which were fantastic, as well as the poppadoms, sticky pork, lamb chops, and something also I can't recall the name of but it was great.

A. S.This is one of the restaurants that just puts a smile on your face and you want to go back again and again. The atmosphere is fantastic - warm, friendly, fun - we were very well looked after without it feeling like too much attention. The food was AMAZING, we went for seconds of the tacos as we just loved them so much but all the food was amazing! We tried all the oysters, defo recommend treating yourself to the full experience! And they have Happy Hour too so your oysters do get tipsy 😉 Highly recommend!

J.Tipsy oyster is definately a must-go place! The oysters are amazing and really fresh, the other dishes are of the same standard. There is a great atmosphere and the cocktails are good as well. The staff is also very friendly. It is a little on the pricier side when looking at the size of the dishes though.
P.A little hidden gem in Paihia ! A fab place with super attentive and helpful staff. The seafood was cooked perfectly and the oysters were the best we have ever had - we tried 4 different kinds and all were delicious ! K.I just want to say that my friend and I had the best night here. I would of given this review a 3 or a 4 due to the rudeness of the (i'm not racist is anyway) 2x Indian men workers - i think one was the manager. HOWEVER, the reason i have given this place a 5 was purely for the amazing waitress Kiana!!! And her girls Lisa and Yaya ❤ if it wasn't for these girls making this night for us soooo DAMN amazing then i probably wouldn't have written a review. Think they deserve a pay rise if you ask me 😉 i hope i can go back soon!!!!!
