I got my fish n chips with sausage and large spring roll included for only $9.50. Overall taste was pretty nice. Good thing is it's one of few takeaways with less oil in their fish n chips. Haven't tried other menus yet. Store was also very clean and had on road parking lot.

Going home lateish I opted to stop at Annie's Takeaways. Quite busy, the young lady who served me was lovely. I opted for a smorgasbord tray. The options were varied but I could not see a sign to indicate what the dishes were, fortunately a staff member assisted me. Opted for dishes I was familiar with. Small tray 9.50, chose small serves of 6 dishes, not to greasy, and just the right amount, would recommend.

Very nice tidy place, they have a wide range of food, and they have self service smorgasbord to so you can get what you want in 3 different sizes, and there prices are not too high, and they have friendly service, I think this would be a great new place to get a good feed.

Lovely bright and clean looking shop. Friendly, professional and efficient staff. Swift service. Placed a phone order and was told it would be ready in 10mins and it was! Walked straight into shop, used the covid19 app. to check in joined a que behind 2 others and didn’t have to wait long. Food was hot, delicious and cooked beautifully! And generous size pieces of fish and portions of chips as well! Chips a little soggy but reminded me of classic kiwi fish n’ chips as a child, so definitely not a deal breaker! Noticed they also do a smorgasbord✅ and chinese as well! Reasonably priced. Highly recommend Annie’s Takeaways and can’t wait to try some chinese takeaway next time!😃

Was surprisingly good. They run a very good operation there. Seems that all fish is battered just before cooking and there Chinese food selection looks pretty good too. Probably the best Fish n Chips I have had in Palmerston North. Definitely recommend!

I have reviewed the fish and chips from here before as they are amazing! So I have to share about their fish burgers too. They are so yummy... So much fish! And the buns are toasted! It's not drowned in tarter sauce, just enough to know its there. Incase you can't tell, I realllly like these burgers!

Nice food, took a while to make however they were very busy both in shop and over the phone based on the amount of people that walked in after and collected. They had plenty of staff to try and cope. Good food, just be prepared to wait during peak times.

Annie's takeaways is a favourite among the locals. Their prices are pretty affordable. Phone orders are probably reccomended as it can get pretty busy. Our favourite is the fish bites and a scoop of chips, pretty good quality. There are quite a big variety of items on the menu including Chinese and a dish yourself section. A Coke fridge with a good variety of cold drinks is also available. Palmy sure has a good shops and this is one of them.

The food is good but the service ... if you order fish and chips OR Chinese you won’t have a problem. Order the two together and the staff find it all too hard to realise when your order is complete. Four times in a row (yes I’m a glutton for punishment) and not a single “sorry” which would go a long way, for having to chase them up to figure out my order is sitting waiting getting cold.

Best chips in town. Recommend the crumbed tarakihi. They have a good selection of Chinese dishes or smorgasbord for a quick option. The place is very clean and tidy too, (some other fish and chip shops are shocking), and plenty of space while you wait. This is one of the busiest takeaways in town, but the service is consistently good, and the staff are always friendly. Ordering ahead by phone is a good idea at peak times.

I'm a great fan of their work. There's a really good fish-and-chip combo meal with a few nuggets and a couple other things for $17, so that's better value than your average fast-food place. If you grab that and an egg foo thing, you've got enough to feed three adults. They also do a self-service Chinese smorgasbord thing, which is always good. Meat'n'veg stir-fry, noodles, fried rice, sweet-and-sour, that kind of stuff. I usually go there once a week.

We used to go to Annie's several years ago before we moved, and have tried quite a few since then but never completely happy with them. Tried Annie's again recently and loved them! Have travelled just to get there. Fish is amazing and potato fritters are chunky and large - the chips are the only letdown but are still better than others.

I usually get a Chinese smorgasbord which has about 10 varieties of food to choose from - the large container feeds two. Their off the menu Chinese Meals are delicious also. Also their fish and chips are nicely cooked and the batter is light and crispy. Very popular around dinner times so it pays to ring in your order to save waiting.

Pretty good place for it's price. But be aware it is fast food not a fancy restaurant. Does have few tables, but works mostly as takeaway. Fish and chips are good. Selection is okay. There are few parking spots outside. Good for quick stop by and eat on a go.

I very often buy CHinese food from Annie's Takeaways because they have very quick service and make the best tasting chinese food. They have such a wide range of food options as well as fish and chips. One of the best fish and chips shop in Palmy, got a pack for the family was great value for money and tasty (not fatty)

Chips were good for a start. Burger patties and chicken nuggets were typical processed meat, so avoid. Fish is up to par. Id avoid it at peak times, like any popular place theres a fair wait. But overall good. They could improve on the patties and chicken nuggets by simply having real meat. Get the fishburger if its a burger you want.

Love the fried rice and chicken cashewnut only thing I dislike sometimes is the sweet and sour pork, getting pieces of hard batter thAt has no pork on it is a bit disappointing. But overall this is my favourite place for Chinese 😊

Okay - but not great - fish and chips. The scoop was tiny. I think that rather than giving you a full scoop, they give you your fish, etc, and then just fill out the box with the chips, rather than giving you a full scoop separately. That's the problem with places that serve your order in a box rather than wrapping it in paper only: It's the size of the box that dictates how much you'll get. If, for example, you order one fish and a scoop, your scoop will be big. But if you order five fish and a scoop, your scoop will be small, so that you get less than what you paid for.
