D.Easily top 3 Chinese restaurant in Palmerston North! Don’t be fool by it’s quietness, it is actually reallly good food. It is fairly underrated and highly recommend their lamp chop and pork bao buns!
Would recommend having dinner here, not for dim sum. Service wasn’t bad when I visited !

S.This place has great ambience, is clean & offers mainly Northern Chinese cuisines & Yum Cha in their menu.
However, I gave it 3 stars because of my penchant for Cantonese cuisines and the supposedly Cantonese style Yum Cha dishes we ordered failed miserably. This is not the place for such.
J.We went to Golden Time a couple of years ago and were not impressed, hence haven't been back for a long time. But friends told us they had a change of ownership and chef. Have to say it definitely impressed us this evening and we definitely recommend others to go. Nice service too. If you want nice Chinese food and nice environment, Golden Time is the place
C.Beautiful food, massive menu but authentic food. Prices higher than the average Chinese takeout but food is definitely outstanding. When dining there is a banquet option but isn't offered as standard so just ask if this suits you better. Clean and tidy restaurant and friendly staff. Highchairs available and is wheelchair accessible. (unsure about the bathroom tho)

s.Probably the only Chinese restaurant that serves sichuan food in Palmy. Food sometimes great sometimes just average. It has a karaoke room.

R.Been at the Golden time twice now. Fantastic food and good servings and great staff service. We enjoyed the food and looking forward to visiting again soon. We have been to China and enjoyed the food, and this Golden time is just as great as in China. The saying is to watch where people go and that is the place to go when there are many people there.

One thing to note is that it has a karaoke room, which is awesome in of itself...except that the soundproofing is less than ideal so the whole restaurant can somewhat hear the singing. Hopefully everyone is a good singer?

R.Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Palmerston North. The menu includes many authentic Chinese dishes that are not the usual stock for kiwis, and it has many Chinese patrons. The prices are affordable and the service is good.
H.Food is fantastic, the more people you take the better and try all the different kinds of food. Great authentic Chinese food plus all the Chinese us kiwis are used to if your not feeling adventurous. Go earlier as the busier it gets there can be a bit of a wait for your food

M.Nice modern settings, most dishes are nice, been there a few times. Kung Po Chicken and Salt & Pepper Prawns, Mah Por Tofu, Black Pepper Beef are very nice, avoid the egg plant dish, it was gooey like glue. Service can be very slow though, if going as a group, be aware that ordering individually means some people WILL NOT get their meal till everyone else has finished eating.

A.This is the type of Chinese restaurant that really cooks Chinese dishes. Although some of the dishes are not very traditional, it should still be praised as you can feel they have tried their best to make it traditional. In Palmerston North, I can assure it is the only Chinese restaurant who really want to deliver traditional Chinese dishes to locals.
S.Food is Good. They now serve Yum Cha. We feel the yum cha is the best amongst the chinese restaurant in Palmerston North. The only downfall is that they give you a piece of paper and you have to preorder n it gets prepared. Not good if you dont know what you are eating! Lunch and dinner menu comes with picture, All the food is good... order a few dishes at a time n change the next trip so you and keep trying hopefully they havent changed their menubythen. They do add new ones occassionally. Their price are pretty reasonable too
S.I went to Golden Time with my daughter recently. Food was OK but service was not so good. We need the containers to take our left
over, they charged 50c for each container. I never experience this in any restaurant. Neither
in Palmerston North nor in Wellington. Very disappointing.

Y.I have tried bejing duck all over New Zealand but this place has the moist duck like the gods have cooked it. As I writing this review I was handed a free dish to celebrate a special occasion in China. I class this restraunt as one of the best restrants I have ever been to.
